Again, there was nothing unclean about it. It was the customs of the time. The bloodlines were purer. We are looking at it from a modern perspective and customs.
He may have been a prophet, but he was still a man. Do you think it is any better that he gave his wife away? Does he not believe in his marriage vows?
That's right, King David killed Bath-Sheba's husband so that he could have her. I think that is why Abraham claimed Sarah as his sister and not his wife, he didn't want to be killed. I can't say that I blame him.
In modern times we would look at brother's and sister's marrying as being something really bad. I love my brothers but I sure wouldn't want to marry them. It is bad for the children because they are more prone to diseases, but perhaps in the past the bloodline and genetics was purer. As time goes by there is more mistakes in the DNA codes, so it is not good for modern times, but it may have worked in the past.
You got to understand the times. The population isn't what it is today, and the men were expected to marry within their own community. They considered the gentiles as infidels. There wasn't as many people to choose from. Also, if everyone decended from Adam and Eve, who do you think they married? Brother's and sisters would have had to marry unless there was a second Adam and Eve.
Sarah (Sarai) was Abram's half sister and wife. So, when he told the pharaoh that it was his sister, he was telling the truth, at least a half truth. He was afraid that if he told the Pharaoh that it was his wife, the Pharaoh will kill him so that he could have his wife.
Isn't the fighting between the jews and arabs is over the land and the sacred sites that they sit on? I must admit, I haven't read much of the Jewish history except for what is in the bible.
Still I don't see the Jews and Pagans as bad. The Jews believe they are decedents of Abraham, Iaac, and Jacob, just like the muslims. I think the main difference between the three religons is that Islam believe you need to do good to get to Heaven, The Jews are still waiting on the coming of Christ and the Christians believe that Christ, which is Jesus was here.
RE: MIRACLES OF THE QUR'AN
Another way to check it is to look at the family tree. See if Sarah was listed as Abraham's sister and later as his wife.
