So, you are fountain of knowledge for you whole nation. Ok then, I can representative all non-native Americans. By the way, what have I made up? I just don't think you are being realistic and live the way the Indians live 200 + years ago.
What you want to call her names because I don't agree. I'm only telling you might point of view. I know people can't handle it, but you still haven't answered my question. You keep side stepping it by trying to put the focus on me, interesting.
Was it a fight, I thought she said it was a "discussion." I do feel bad that her people were treated badly, but there comes a time when a person needs to impower themselves and take ownership for their own lives. You are the only one who can really change your life.
I have a question, and I'm not trying to mean about it, but lets say your home is on the old Indian land that the Indians have a treaty on, would you be willing to give it up? Even if you have worked long and hard to pay for it?
Well, it's time for me to go to bed. We will just have to agree to disagree. Good night everybody, and that includes Hugz. I don't hate you, I just don't agree with you.
You want to believe the Indians were the fist ones. You need to do your research. And the treaties are only as good as the people who will inforce them. The reservations were set up a long time ago, put you keep looking back. Again, my land rights are as good as the government who inforces them. If another country invades my country and takes over, there goes my land rights. That's how it works.
I don't think you should be ashamed of who you are, I just don't believe you should have special rights. Again, the Indians were not the first people on this land. Yes, it was sad that a lot of Indians were killed, but that is the nature of war.
Your missing the point. The land belonged to the Southeast Asian and Sothern Pacific people first, but you are so stuck on your own culture. The American Indians came later. What about the Southeast Asian and Southern Pacific people. Who is going to fight for their rights.
Who Were The First Americans?Stefan Lovgren for National Geographic News
September 3, 2003 A study of skulls excavated from the tip of Baja California in Mexico suggests that the first Americans may not have been the ancestors of today's Amerindians, but another people who came from Southeast Asia and the southern Pacific area.
Just to make it clear, I;m not trying to disrespect any nationality. I'm trying to make a point that it is hard to unscrable eggs. The past is the past. We are a melting pot now and need to realize it. I don't think getting angry about past events is helpful. It is good to get involved, but anger never solves anything.
laws of the day. You mean 200 years ago. Good grief, get over it. You guys lost, and the treaties are not worth the paper they were written on. Well, what about the African American, they also have a claim. They were a big contributor in making the USA what it is today. They feel they should be paid back as well. Don't forget the Chinese. They also shold be paid back as well for being put in camps durning the war. The list could go on.
It does too: Here is a quote from you: "Well I won't date Native men either...not because of the colour of their skin but because of the way they treat the women they are with...I was married to one for 10 years and haven't met a Native man yet who doesn't have the same pecking order when it comes to a relationship...
1) Friends 2) Booze 3) Girlfriend or wife 4) Kids"
I don't think there is any land left to steal is there? I still think you are stuck in the past. I'm not calling you down, I'm trying hard to understand your position. I agree our government is corrupt, but most of them are. There is injustice all over the world. Should I fight every battle? I don't believe the reversations are forced anymore, are they?
I'm not a native american so I don't have the same investment in it as you. It is good that you stand up for your people. I hope that includes the native men as well. ;)
You were just talking about native men and how bad they have treated you. What is the point in being angry if you are not willing to do something about it. Specifically what are you doing to make things better for your people? There is no need to insult to get your point across.
RE: Should we in the rest of the world be scared of USA?
Ya know, a lot of people have claims on this land, it just depends on who you talk to.
