Oyster recipe....

See other Rocky Mountain Oysters Recipes Kwanzaa Appetizers Finger Food Appetizers North American Appetizers Turkey Appetizers Split the tough skin-like muscle that surrounds each "oyster" (use a sharp knife). You can also remove the skin easily if the meat is frozen and then peeled while thawing. Soak in a pan of salt water one hour; drain. Transfer to a large pot and add enough water to float the meat. Add the vinegar to the pot. Parboil, drain and rinse. Let cool and slice each oyster into 1/4 inch thick ovals. Sprinkle salt and pepper on both sides of sliced oyster to taste. Combine flour, cornmeal and some garlic powder to taste. Roll each slice into flour mixture. Dip into milk. Roll again into flour mixture. Dip into wine. (repeat the procedure for a thicker crust). Fry in hot oil or fat seasoned with the bottled hot sauce to taste (be careful, it will sizzle when you add the hot sauce); fry until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Serve with cocktail sauce if desired.
We're probably not as far apart as you think. There's not much I wouldn't do for children. They don't pick their "lot in life"... I think all people deserve an "equal opportunity"....but not necessarily guaranteed "equal outcomes"....people need to strive for the outcome.
(I would now add that any piece of legislation can be pushed thru congress if it's "for the children" ......that's starting to grate on my last nerve...)

If you go long form on taxes, it's good to keep many reciepts that relate to tax deductibility. In the past I've spent 2 full days two full days a year just "prepping" my tax records before submitting them. That's related to investment property though. Unfortunately, one's time is not tax deductible...you just lose 2 days of your life to satisfy the government.
If one goes short form, it's relatively easy.
(there's part of your answer...) Sorry for the delay.
I don't attend church...probably should though... I'll give ya that one.
There's a cycle of poverty in this country that will never change, regardless of how much money is thrown at it.
I don't think the poor are scum by any means...you may have over-read a bit. It is what it is...nothing more, nothing less.
The poor of today aren't the same as the poor of 30/40 years ago. Most have color tv's, air conditioning, cars, and if they can't get 3 square meals a day, give me their names, I'll link them to an agency. I would only guess, but I'd say most of today's poor have cell phones & computers. I'd have to do some research, but I think the facts would bear me out.
If I can locate the article on today's poor, I'll post it. Poor, to some degree is a state of mind, I do believe.
Perhaps everyone would be a bit happier if they paid the tax they owed, but could select the department of the government they wanted their tax payments directed?
I want my tax dollars to go to the Dept of _____________!
Recalling from the texts, I believe Maslow said basic human needs are food, water and shelter. I'd probably tuck females in that section on the heiarchy though.... Maslow wasn't right on everything
