His drum work on Rain was superb. He was the perfect drummer for them. Always played for the song never stepped all over it. Timekeeping like a metronome, rock solid back beat, a swampy funky sound, and memorable melodic fills.
The laws here are rather strict. My take, having raised two wonderful daughters, is corporal punishment can be used as a tool for those that lack the ability to communicate and enforce guidelines with their children.
I take no issue with one GIANT caveat. If you need to smack your child on the butt to get their attention as a way of letting them know, "hey that's not okay" is acceptable. Anything more is about your anger and is NOT OKAY.
Once again I must restate that the ability to effectively communicate and enforce guidelines for acceptable behavior can most definitely be achieved without corporal punishment. The lack of follow through and communication skills make physical punishment the only tool in the bag for some parents.
Sadly, we need a license for every f@cking thing in this life except being a parent. Any idiot can be a mother or a father.
