I sometimes wish I was stuck in a past year. I wouldn't mind revisiting 1976. I turned 18 and became a legal hell raiser. 1980 was a fun year and 1993 after the birth of my second daughter was wonderful. I'd really enjoy reliving that.
Sadly, I am stuck in 2020. I'm not one to want to wish away time, but I wouldn't mind fast forwarding through this one.
I was a teacher at an adolescent psychiatric hospital. What did I think? It tore me up every day. Talk about bringing your work home... It was the major reason I couldn't stay there.
There are quite a few places out east. Many celebrities live out there if you want to check out how the rich and famous live. Billy Joel, Seinfeld, Beyonce and Jay Z, Robert Downey Jr., De Niro, Calvin Klein, etc etc etc etc.
I prefer Broadway and the museums of NYC to star gazing, but I like being out on the water better than either.
It's in Amagansett. That's a bit further east than the Hamptons. Out near Montauk Point. It's about 45 miles east of me. Been there. Saw the house as much as you can from the road. There's a huge privacy hedge and a long driveway. The house is set back on the property quite a way.
This and random conversations with strangers. Thing is, I'm always smiling at people unless they have what looks to be a permanent scowl. I'm never at a loss for something to say, and it's truly smiling time when you make that connection to people.
Genius and legend are words that are often used too frequently nowadays. However, I cannot think of two words to more aptly describe Sir Paul McCartney.
Happy 78th birthday to one half of the greatest songwriting duo, ever, a brilliant bass player, and solo writer. I can list his attributes, accomplishments, and awards all day, but you all get the picture!
Lately I've taken to meditation. I confess that I used to laugh at those who would tell me about its benefits, but with all the time in lock down, I gave it a try.
However, it is clear you do occasionally try to help others based on your experiences, I commend you for that and would never suggest you not continue to try and help others. However, I'm being serious for a moment, are you really qualified to help people? Obviously you're a person who barely functions in the real world.
Your life, as you portray it, is one of psychotropic meds, heavy drinking, poor body image, poor decisions, self doubt, and all manner of neurosis.
Why would you think it is a good idea for YOU to try and help people suffering with mental health issues when despite your claims it is clear you haven't fully dealt with yours?
Of course the author must be scrutinized for personal bias, agenda, and accuracy of details.
Putting it into perspective, if you and four of your friends witnessed an accident today, how many different versions of the event will there be? Five of course and that happened today witnessed by people who likely had no agenda or personal connection to the event.
Patience? Most people these days have an attention span that can be measured in nanoseconds. Their minds are overwhelmed with the next hour's news cycle.
It is best to read primary sources for any time in history. However, laziness and stupidity has made that practice "anachronistic." It's much easier to click a few times or listen to the giant intellects in the media.
RE: It's 2020 but what year are you still living in...?
