We call them tent catepillars. You can spray them, burn their nests or use TreeHelp Bug Bands (sticky) which go around the trunk of the tree in early spring to keep the bugs from crawling from the ground up into the tree.

Oh Roy, you KNOW I know how to can!!! LOL

I try to use my canned goods up before the next canning season.

But if they are going to competition at the fairs, they may be OK for me when they come back, but 2 years is my limit.

The bad signs are leakage, bad smell, discoloration or any sign the the seal has failed.

I don't use paraffin on my jellies; just the modern Bell lids and I store all my jars in a cool place in the dark.

The guy who plows my driveway wakes me up at 4 am or else doesn't show up until sometime in the afternoon!
