RE: Do u believe in supranatural things? Why?

I'd be interested in hearing some of those first hand experiences.

I’m also curious why you and so many others focus your attention on Judeo-Christian religions. What’s up with that? Don’t you have venom enough for Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism or other faiths

I also find it very interesting when I see statements like “They say God will give you what ever you want if you accept Jesus as the way”.

I don’t know ANY Christians that say that. The majority that I know expect life to be rough at times and not to have anything handed to them by God or anyone else. Maybe some do chant that line but I have yet to hear it from anyone I know.

Such sweeping statements about any group are more based on prejudice than fact.

RE: Internet dependence makes many victims

Are there on line support groups internet dependence?

RE: Do u believe in supranatural things? Why?

OK you seem very sure about this. Anything other than your personal opinion to base this on? Have you actually experienced first hand anything or are we talking pure theory?

I do agree that most of us can develop some sort of healing ability. Reiki etc. to me is nothing more than Dumbo’s magic feather. Because someone now has a nice little slip of paper they now believe that they can do something others can not.

They ignore the fact that long before the new age types first pulled on their unbleached cotton pants that there were blood stoppers at many logging camps, Mojo women and others that could do much more than relieve the headaches of suburban housewives.

Many belief systems see the actions of spirits not only aiding in healing. One very intelligent clear minded man I know would walk through fire before he would take the wrong path with those spirits.

Do I agree with him 100%? No, but I have found a great deal of what he has shown me to be true through personal experience. I’ve found the same in my dealings with people of other faiths. Were one of the Thai Monks from the previous to caution me about something I were doing something that had angered a peaa (spelling?) I would listen very carefully and do my best to follow any advice offered

Every faith has something to teach. I have my own beliefs based on what I was raised with and what I have seen along the way. I know full well that I do not have all of the answers. I do have some answers that work for me. I do my best to be open minded and respectful of other faiths. Sometimes I do better at that than others.

What irks me about much of what you talk about is that it smells of self-worship. If I’m wrong on that being your attitude I apologize.

RE: Do u believe in supranatural things? Why?

But what if you were to meet ten people in a very short time that were highly skilled healers?

Here’s the dig though they are A Priest, Two Nuns. An elderly fundamentalist Christian woman from the deep south, a gay Episcopalian Choir director and five Thai Monks.

Would you be willing to accept that their faith had something to do with their ability to heal others or would you be waiting for the joke where they all walked into a bar?

I have heard, from a woman who knew him well, of a Priest who had all of his teeth grow back over night. His was very shocked and surprised by this happening.

RE: IF somebody did something bad to you, will u do the same thing like he/she done to you ?

I’ve had to make it clear that there would be serious consequences for misdeeds in the past.

Usually payment in kind is a bad idea. Especially if the wrongdoer has connections in positions of power.

The books always end up balanced in the end though. Often with no effort from me.

RE: Convert me

I think CS needs to have a special section for young men who feel they have all the answers to post their wisdom so as to enlighten us old dogs.

It could be a subsection of the humor section.

RE: life begins at 40?

Life begins when you allow it to.

RE: Here’s your dinner table set with the best bunch ever

T. E. Lawrence – One of the most interesting men of his time.

Annie Oakley - Forget the movie. Oakley was a highly intelligent and humorous person.

Will Rogers – Plain speaking and very sly man.

Gracie Allen – Another woman who hid her intellect

My father – Truth be told neither he or I would care much for a dinner party. A couple of burgers at a diner might be better. If the others show up we can grab a booth.

Now if we can go with fictional characters:

Umslopogaas – From the stories of H. Ryder Haggard. An exceedingly brave and loyal friend he was the son of King Chaka of the Zulu but this fact had been hiddin to protect him from being killed by his father. At the end of the story “Allen Quatermain he died a hero’s death. For time the stories were written he was an unusually positive black character.

Maiwa – Another H. Ryder Haggard Creation. Maiwa had been forced into a marriage to a cruel and powerful chief of a neighboring territory. When she gave birth to his son he killed the baby by throwing it into the jaws of a trap. Maiwa bided her time until she was able to have her revenge leading her father’s men into battle against her husband and his army.

The master thief – Take your pick. He and sometimes she is a stock character winning against the stupid and greedy by being creative and crafty.

Ruby – ZBS Media’s 23rd century private detective from Suma Nulla.

Fibber and Molly McGee – The McGee’s were radio’s favorite couple for many years. They dodged the finance man, teased uppity neighbors and stuck by each other through think and thin.

RE: the silent strong type

I think the problem is that a stable man often seems very dull to many women.

Then again I really am quite a dull, uninteresting person so I may be off a bit.

RE: if there is a song to be your theme music?

This is the movie I stole my screen name from. Very strange and fun flick.

RE: if there is a song to be your theme music?

Also this one from the same movie:

RE: Obama Rocks! Some positive signs in american economy already!

Glad to finally see you admit it dud. It's the first step towards your recovery

Obama adm. has done as good as possible so far ! 25 47%
Obama has been a distaster for american economy! 20 38%
McCain and republicans=Great american economy! 8 15%

Wow Dudey!

53% don’t think Obama is good for the economy.

You wrote the poll pal.

You wrote the poll pal.

So are you going to face up to the results of YOUR poll that YOU wrote or are you just going to call me names and yammer on about nothing again?

RE: Obama Rocks ! Today ! The most serious attempt against more Wars !

So no response to the facts other than your usual nonsense eh?

One more time for the thicker kids:

Obama administrtion = more peace and stability 21 51%
Obama administration = more wars and unrest 15 37%
How dared we ever vote the Republicans out? :-( 5 12%

So by going by Dudey’s poll and not taking his usual ploy if ignoring a segment of the vote AGAINST Obama. It would appear that BHO holds a very slight lead in this little dog and phony show.

HOWEVER, let us remember that one of the forty one cast is from Denmark.

That one vote amount to 2.439% of the votes cast.

RE: Telemarketer Revenge...

I creeped on sales man out. After I got on the do not call list a sales outfit used to keep coming up om the caller ID. One night I decided to pick up:

ME: (quiet level voice)Hello?

KEVIN: HI!!! I'm calling with a..

ME: What is your name?

KEVIN: Ahhh Kevin?

ME: Kevin, I'm on the do not call list. Why are you calling me?

KEVIN: Well the law says that if you have talked with us within the last year we can assume that you want to continue to talk with us.

ME: Kevin, I don't want to do business with you and I don't want to talk to you. I never, ever want another call from you company again. Do you understand me Kevin?

KEVIN: Ahhhh OK.

ME: So you are going to remove my name from your list correct Kevin?

KEVIN: Sure, I can do that.

ME: Thank you, Good night Kevin.

RE: how many of us have had a visitation

I've seen plenty of weird things over the years.

Think I saw a Kitsune a few years ago driving very early in the AM. Slowed down and was more carefull. Few miles later found woman that had driven off the road and rolled her car. Seen a few "people" as well.

Just because something does not make sense does not mean it is not there.

RE: Telemarketer Revenge...

Years back a local woman got a call from one of the long distance companies.

She told them: "There must be some mistake, We don't even have a phone!"

The guy said: "Oh I'm sorry, I must have a wrong number" and hung up

RE: Telemarketer Revenge...

More phone fun

RE: What percentage of CS members are crazy people?

I read somewhere that 77 percent of all the mentally ill
live in poverty. Actually, I'm more intrigued by the 23
percent who are apparently doing quite well for themselves.
-Jerry Garcia

RE: What percentage of CS members are crazy people?

Seven of the five voices in my head say "green".

Me or the dog

I think you missed my point. I think the boy is out of his tree to put his dog aside for this woman. I'm waiting to see what the next orders will be she has for him.

My wife came with her own mini-zoo I guess I was the last stray she brought home. Her animals and my animals became our family. Neither of us would have had it different than that.

RE: Celebrity Name Game!

Izak Perlman

Me or the dog

I should be more worried about the dog finding a woman and them deciding to throw me out. He’s quite the charmer.

Two of my cousins came out with their wives and it was very funny to watch them trying not to be jealous as the women fussed over the dog and ignored their husbands

Me or the dog

Some friends of mine are babysitting their son’s dog. It seems his new girlfriend does not care for Tralfaz and she has declared if she is around the dog is not to be there too.

Now I’m a dog person that was with a dog person for ten years. Neither of us would have tolerated such attitude towards our furry children.

Where do the rest of you stand? Does kitty disappear when the lover gets snitty or does the pigmy goat sink the animal indifferent dream boat?

America’s dogs and cats want to know.

RE: Great movie quotes.

Oskar: Who are you?
Eli: I'm like you.
Oskar: What do you mean?
Eli: [accusing tone] What are you staring at? Well?
Eli: Are you looking at me?
Eli: [points her finger at Oskar] So scream! Squeal!
Eli: Those were the first words I heard you say.
Oskar: I don't kill people.
Eli: No, but you'd like to. If you could... To get revenge. Right?
Oskar: Yes.
Eli: Oskar, I do it because I have to.
Eli: Be me, for a while.

Eli: Please Oskar... Be me, for a little while.

Fantastic book as well. Goes into much more detail about Eli's past.

In this day and age many think of having honor as a sign of weakness.
