I have to disagree with this statement, June. I have two family members with Ph.D. in Mathematics and each of them are fluent in 3 languages, learnt fast and with ease.
As a matter of fact All students seeking Ph.D. in Mathematics must be proficient in one of foreign languages.
I too admire all these multilingual forumers for their intellect and courage.
Makes me cringe when one poor sod or another, who in fact barely writes in their own language, happily jumps at every opportunity to put them down by commenting "now say it in English"/"I don't speak gibberish..."/etc.
No. Whatever I can afford to donate, goes to help homeless/abused/rescued animals here in NYC, and (sometimes - selectively and directly, not through charity organizations) to help people in a great need... also locally. There is a great number of homeless people right here...
RE: Slim's aunt, former CS member....
