What helped me was understanding that God is Spirit, an infinite being high above what our finite minds can understand/grasp.
As human beings, we "see/experience" God through His Presence in the world around us and within our hearts. We also come to know Him through personal relationship and through His Son, Jesus Christ.
Even when we do not feel it, He is always with us.
Continue to seek Him and He will reward your trust.
(BTW, it is a gift in itself to know that evil exists. Many, many don't.)
It's possible "she" was a scammer and administration deleted the profile. This can happen very suddenly if you are in the middle of "talking" to one of them. Sometimes when an account is cancelled the other person can still read emails but not answer them...or maybe administration read them...did the emails she sent you before remain in your box or did they disappear too? If the emails she sent you disappeared from your emailbox she was a scammer and administration deleted her profile from the site.
If not, any person who would just disappear on someone isn't perfect. They are bad news and just plain rude. You really are better off knowing this about her now before you really got attached.
This didn't make any sense to me either. I live in California which is really hurting financially right now, but never heard of people not being able to access a computer or a TELEPHONE. Also, there is also mail. I just don't get this reason for ending a relationship, so maybe there is more to it than that.
It's none of our business, but you did make this public post. If Ali doesn't understand, I don't blame him. I find this "reason" very confusing and not the "real thing". It's between the two of you of course, but please be open with each other so hearts can mend. People want closure if possible.
I think the original sin was disobedience, which resulted in separation from God, which was bound to happen as we were given the ability to choose (in other words, free will). The angels were given free will as well, and some of them chose to rebel, resulting in one third of them falling into Lucifer's ranks.
If we take away the Adam, Eve, and talking snake and say it was just a story, that there was no real Adam and Eve as two individual persons, what do you figure REALLY happened? This is what has always stumped me.
I don't think Mike was trying to win anything. He was honestly asking where people got their answers, what they believed. If you do not want to talk about this, there is no point in joining the thread and silencing the discussion yet once again by saying there is no point to the thread.
There seems to be inconsistencies in your story. I checked his profile and he hasn't been online for about a week, so he wasn't online but just not talking to you. Also, you state he saw your picture then wanted to see more, so what happened you sent him another one and he didn't like that one?
In another post you say you've been for three months, and then you say its only one month.
Confusing.
I would just suggest waiting to see if he contacts you once he is back online. If he doesn't, learn from the situation what you can...it wasn't possible for it to be real love yet so there could be many reasons involved in your situation.
Of course we are not here to date God. But this is a forum for talking about spiritual things, so belief in God would fit the discussion criteria. Why do people object to this? If you don't want to talk about spirituality, don't participate in the thread. Why don't people get this and keep posting objections in this forum?
I have never heard that we sleep before we go to Heaven. I believe the Church taught that the souls who lived before the Resurrection were not able to access Heaven until Christ's work was finished. It seems to be a debated topic. Look up "soul sleep" on Google or your favorite Internet search engine.
It would really depend upon all the nuances of the particular situation, but in general it would make me feel kind of trapped or uneasy to have someone that much around my life.
I agree with Robert, just tell her how much you love her, and show it! Telling her you want to be everything in her life, that you want to keep her, be everything to her, can be scary, especially if the relationship is somewhat new. I am sure if the situation were reversed a man would feel the same way. No one wants to be the air someone else breathes, unless they have issues.
I only reviewed one section of this site lightly, and noticed that the key scriptures the Catholic Church uses to support the doctrine were not listed in the Web site's refutation. The section was on the Church's forgiveness of sins, with the key scriptures used by the Church bek g John 20:23 and Matthew 16:19:
"Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained"
"I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven."
Also, the Church does not teach that it as institution forgives sins, or that the priest himself forgives them, but that Jesus Christ, through the priest, does so.
I am not posting these as proof they support the doctrine but just an observation that they are not in the section regarding this issue, at least I could not find the first one.
There have been countless Catholic Christians who by their very lives showed their knowledge of, love for, and union with Christ and His work.
A scientology link? I am sorry, I thought I was linking to the poem regarding Footprints in the Sand poem, which clicking on the link affirms. That is connected to Ron Hubbard and Scientology how?
There is nothing to cough about unless there's something in the coffee.
One night a man had a dream. He dreamed
he was walking along the beach with the LORD.
Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene he noticed two sets of
footprints in the sand: one belonging
to him, and the other to the LORD.
When the last scene of his life flashed before him,
Your desire to have faith is a very good sign God has you in His sights, no matter how far away or nonexistant He may seem to you now. I was just reading about this the other day, that desire for Faith, how it was grace in itself. Those who reject God or have turned away from Him have no desire for faith or to believe.
I have heard this many times, and think I understand where you are coming from because I have heard it all (or most of it), and can only say keep your eyes open for more possibilities.
