As a female, I'd love a man to approach me first. But I've often made the approach to men I'm attracted to on the internet. And I've been knocked back.
I agree that divorce is so easy these days that so many seem to get married without much soul searching about their partner - never mind America, look at Katie Price (aka Jordan) in the UK.
Maybe people should not be allowed to marry unless they have been dating for at least a year? And my last ex-partner reckoned that where people married in church, the churchmust be involved in counselling before a divorce would be granted. Seems fair enough to me.
I come from a family where divorce/partnership break-up is very rare - which often makes me feel like a black sheep..
What's bugging me today (apart from the continual rain here in Spain) is that every time I come here I am bombarded with - 'Chat with a Russian or Ukranian Princess!' 'Date an Asian Lady' or 'Date a Latino woman'. (But I have to say, the Latino lady looks a bit suspect to me).
Hello CS, I'm a woman, and approximately 50% of the population, where is my 'Eye candy'?
Respect monte. I hate to see any animal suffer. But I've had to steal my heart when I've been on holiday in other European states and here in Spain, I know if I took in one, I'd soon have a houseful of cats. Dogs in Spain are considered to be guard dogs and are routinely left with little food and water, and bark all hours of the day and night. There are supposed to be regulations, but getting them enforced is another matter.
The problem with the feeding of cats in my area, is that food is left on the walls and private areas of 'communities', which attracts rats etc. I know of a brilliant charity in a particular Greek isle that ensure that stray dogs and cats are fed but also capture and neuter/spey them, then re-release. That said, there are various local charities here in Spain that help dogs/cats/horses, and they are ALL run by British ex-pats.
Don't get us started on barking dogs!!! If I link you in to my local website the two top moans are barking dogs and the ladies who feed the stray cats...
Why do I bother paying to have my hair and nails done, pay to heat the water for my shower and iron my clothes, get dressed smart to go to an event - only to find they let in people, who quite frankly, look like they have just crawled out from under the pier? Sadly, I should be used to this now, it's called 'Welcome to Ex-pat life in Spain'
If we are talking about 'dating', or out with men friends, rather than going out with 'partners'. then yes, I always pay, or try to pay, my half, and take it in turn buying rounds of drinks.
Certainly I think this is partly due to not wanting the man to think that because he paid for me, 'I owe him'.
If, as has happened recently, he bought more drinks, than I have bought wine and given that to him another day.
Missha, I have found the Maltese to be very stubborn when it comes to paying. I have memories of an evening out many years ago with my then partner and Maltese friends. 'Our' £10 pounds notes that we offered towards our cost of the bill were ripped in half and left on the table...
Amazingly, I got a pay packet after 2 weeks. And my sister drops me off if I'm on the right shift, so the bus company are not making megabucks out of me at the moment.
