A partner used to use it, I did not mind providing it was only light usage. Smoking has never appealed to me, so I've never used it.
Just this week I have been in contact with another ex, both his sons started young, there were dealers at the school gates. He tried really hard to get them off it, but eventually gave up, after they would continually 'sell' items from the house to buy more.
The elder son is now schizophrenic, and the younger one died six weeks ago from a drug overdose.
I do think some people are more at risk of mental problems, and that risk seems higher the younger the usage starts. I think heavy usage is bad, the same way that heavy alcohol usage is bad. I'm not sure whether it should be legal or not, as the same arguments can be made about normal tobacco and alcohol. I do think those who find it theraputic for their illnesses should be able to use it. I would like to see campaigns to try and stop youngsters using it, but the current laws on tobacco and alcohol seem ineffective, so I'm not convinced that would work either.
I was just signing in to say the same thing serene.
Of course people can't do anything about their height, and most of us can't change things we don't like about ourselves, but that aside, what's wrong with trying to present ourselves in the best light? I'd expect a date to turn up looking clean and presentable, even if he doesn't have money for 'expensive' or 'fashionable' clothes. (A lot of my clothes are charity shop finds). Hair groomed etc.
I don't have any problem with the 'work' a man does, as long as he knows how to use a shower and a bar of soap afterwards.
And surely we all know by now that we should eat well and watch our weight.
I'm with you on this DM. It's been 18 months for me, from a relationship that was just short of two years. It is very hard not to be bitter, but like Sweetly said, I'm hurt rather than bitter. Bitterness achieves nothing and is bad for you.
Now, to that well worn phrase, 'Time heals'. I prefer this one - 'Time passes, but you have to heal yourself'.
Prior to moving countries, I was 'made' to give up my music cassette tape collection. Now what do I find? Fantastic, cheap machines that will convert them onto computer memory sticks. I'm gutted.
With very best wishes for you tomorrow. I'm job hunting too, and badly need to get back into the swing of working. Just can't decide what the best thing to do is 'though...
Anyway, you may well be asked 'What are your strenghts and weaknesses', so have some answers ready. Good luck.
A member of my family reckons depression tablets should ONLY be taken when someone is depressed but they don't know why.
However, if you feel that the situation is severly affecting your day-to-day functioning then may be you should see what your doctor suggests. But my understanding is that most of these type of tablets are addictive.
Time heals - on over-used 'pat' phrase in my opinion.
Amity - 'things will feel different in a week'? Wish I was you.
Anglic Vixen - 'Find someone else to love'. Bad idea, risk of rebound, more people end up hurt.
Angelic Vixen - 'Better choice next time'. That's a bit harsh. If he's anything like me, he's fallen hook, line and sinker from day one. Sometimes we can't help who we fall in love with.
And before anyone comes back with, that's not love, it's lust, I've done lust too, and not fallen in love.
Just what are their problems? They both always seem so angry. I feel one is maybe just overly sensitive about things, but the other - wow - I sure would not like to be around them.
A lot of previous comments are fine if you are the one 'calling the shots'. I have had two relationships end suddenly and without, I felt, sufficient explanation as to why.
I digress- New Year's Eve - A group of Brits in a local bar were tyring to order a 'jug' of beer - but could not remember the Spanish for it - eventually, the owner worked it out. Then he kept practicing the word 'jug' - until I explained that a certain part of a lady's body was called 'jugs' in slang - he stopped straight away!
I'm sure you will be able to find a job back in the UK if that is what you mean by the recession. I'm currently looking for work back in the Uk, have already 'lost' one interview because of the volcanic ash. There's plenty of work in the areas that I am looking in.
I know what you mean by the Maltese family thinking he can do wrong, I have a friend who is married to a Maltese man.
I moved here to Spain with a man, it was what we both wanted. However, the work he had lined up (here and the UK) was affected by the recession. Because of things that happened, he decided to go back to the Uk, but didn't include me in that decision. I do love the weather here, and the laid back attitude, but I lack friends of the same age, and there are no jobs here.
