Every nation can boast both wonderful deeds and terrible actions. Yours is no different! At least we live in countries where we are able to protest, vote and make our opinion heard. Channel your hate and sadness in THOSE directions and you may make a bigger impact.
I agree - YES, he may have some eomtional guilt regarding the loss if his wife and HER mother, so he's 'considering' his daughter's feelings. But this is taking it too far and actually nurturing her insecurities, doing both himself and his daughter more harm than good.
If he is unable, or unwilling to discuss the matter and make changes, I fell you'll have to concede defeat and move on.
