Yep it was a pub gig at Bonnie doon hotel and there is not much there. If it was a city pub i may have gone alone but country pub carparks are very dark. ohnuts have you ever been molested in a carpark. Its no fun and i aint nothing to look at but beer goggles rule after dark mate.
Jem i am on here to make friends and meet more people. Live in nth east vic but grew up in Croydon and know the Dandys well. We have some good gigs up here sometimes. "A day on the green" with a good band would be a great meet.
Very hot and humid where i live yet the flooded victorian towns are only a 90 minute drive from me. I am lucky to be a safe old dragon on a small hill.
ohnuts i am the opposite. I can sit through a movie alone and eat out alone but going to a pub gig is another matter. Drunk guys with alcohol fuelled egos and beer goggles on no thanks. Its fairly obvious if your at a pub on your own but a big concert is different.
I dont have a job (waiting on surgery) so no co workers, live in a small one pub country town and most of my friends are miles away. None of them are single and i agree with Shell about going out alone. Last night Jimmy Barnes and Noiseworks were playing an hours drive up the road. Would love to have had a mate to go with for company. Instead i sat with the mossies and the cat reading the tv guide with a BORING. Thats why i am here and the forums are great.

It just goes to show that i am not the only one home alone this saturday night after seeing others have their say on the forums. Cooked San choi bow for one for dinner.......how boring We are in our boxes (house) looking at a box (computer). Im off to read a box (book)
Took 2 mormons off my front step out of the poring rain one day. Shook em down and told them if they shut up about the bible and where i was going to end up i would give them homemade soup and crusty bread fresh out of the oven for lunch. Guess what..........they loved the soup. Soup for the soul is better than words alone.
I give to Red Cross, Salvos and have been a World Vision sponsor for 25 years. They are a huge company who does get audited. Are you saying you have never seen them working on community projects anywhere. Just curious.
I talk to friends in USA often and they really have no idea about Australia, how big we are and what makes us such a great nation. They had hurricane Katrina, we have almost half the bloody country under water. These floods have really put us in the spotlight world wide but what a sad way to show the world how fantastic we Ozzies are.
The op shops in my area are over flowing with second hand clothes. The thought of being in the same clothes for a week and beyond in these floods......... I hope they can sent some to those that need them when the waters recede. Thats charity
I agree with kizzy but your heart is certainly in the right place Tutorgirl. When the "mud" settles call or email volunteer organizations in the area and ask where help is needed then turn up armed with a shovel, broom, gloves etc and a esky full of food for yourself. $$$$$ donations help as we speak feeding those in shelters. Even $2 goes a long way if all the gold is put together.
to you. Of course it will help, even $2 will grow into a large pool of money to help people recover. Its also their mental health that concerns me. Ive been there and know it can be so difficult to move on emotionally when you have lost everything. Dispite all the devistation these floods have caused dont we live in a great country. Food and clean water is still available unlike some other countries around the world. This is still "the lucky country". Im off to the bank to give a bit now.
RE: Reincarnation...
Never said i was real bright but i am working on that too.
