Different scientists perceive of their responsibilities in different ways. Some give no damn, as long as their research gets funded. Others try to control the use of their product. Still others recognize that they can't control the use of their research, so they choose their topics so that they can't be used in any way, good or bad, anytime soon. Others choose topics that they consider more likely to have good uses.
You refer me to a video of a religious nutter; so what? Religious nutters are found in other religions and traditions too. Also, before we go there, you need to answer my question about the causes of religious extremism.
The only country that was used nukes is the US of A, as we all know, and they did that when they were the only ones holding them. I don't like proliferation, but I don't agree that Iran would be so suicidal to use one, even if he had them. Countries want them as a strong deterrence against outside threats.
Anyway, we got sidetracked. Can we go back to the reasons behind the rise of religious extremism and the presence of NATO in the Middle East and beyond?
Spread of Islam when and where? I need a specific question to be able to answer. Israel was in a fight for survival; not any more. There is an Arab peace initiative which all Arab states endorsed, including the Palestinian Authority, and on which Hamas was divided over. Israel has taken no official position. The peace plan includes peace treaties with all Arab countries. And let's not forget, Israel is a nuclear power, unlike any of the countries in the neighborhood.
I agree there is no point talking about the USS Liberty today. And that we should also talk about crimes committed by Americans, Russians, Europeans, Arabs, Japanese, Chinese, Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, all without prejudice.
Having said that, I believe there is some value to know what really happened. After having spent many hours researching the matter, I have concluded that it was deliberate attack. We can try a grown-up discussion on the evidence, but I'm afraid it will end up in tears again.
Yeah, if you really want this to work, do your best! Take a main pic in a suit`n tie, and groomed to perfection, like if you're getting married, and smiling as you do in this one. More pics with friends and animals, as NMP suggests. Best of luck to you
