The approaching New Year seems to bring about a time of reflection for many of us, especially those over 30. What's our bench mark, yard-stick, TV, commercials, Hollywood, the couple down the street ?
You can't count memories, they represent the past, vapor. You can't use the present, because it will change. The future is not here yet. So, where does that leave us ?
One can't be all things to all people, but if you bring joy and respect to just a few in your life, then you have achieved much. Contender ? You're the Champ.
This may seem simplistic, but our lives to date have been recorded in our brains. If we're not happy with the recording, then record over it with new material.
OK then, oops, just spilled a can of beer over my 2 day old pizza....I think it's pizza. Anyway, I'd love to get together with you, I think. Can we talk by phone for a couple of years first ?
I'd love to be the once removed (man in your life by proxy) guy that you can complain about to your friends. I have a few bad habits, but for your sake, I could certainly come up with a few more. Then you can get on the phone with your friends and....."Oh, that stupid jerk, you wouldn't believe what he just said to me.....etc., etc." I am here to serve in the worst way possible.
During my tenure here on CS, I've spewed a lot of garbage (depending on my mood and level of intoxication) and have vowed to leave. Sorry, can't do it.
I have met so many wonderful people here. The parade of beautiful souls continues. People come and go, yet there are always some here who make my day. Thank you.
