Self Image

Look into yourself, tell me, what do you see?
Is this what you wanted? Is it how it should be?
Did you settle for second best, was it easier to gain?
Or did you strive for your dreams, even if you failed again and again?
Did you fake who you are to fit into the crowd,
or were you always yourself, always true, always proud.
Did you lie and betray to get where you are today?
or were you honest till the end, never fully led astray.
Did you listen to the taunts of those far below you?
Or did you hold your head up high, believing in the truth.
Were you selfish and greedy, thinking only of yourself?
Or did you reach out a helping hand, even when you're down, always lending help.
Did you strive to accomplish all you set out to do?
Or did you give up on yourself, thinking you are through.
Look back upon your life, did you live it undaunted?
Or did the world around you transform what it was you wanted?
Were you always true to yourself and those that matter?
Or did you take what you could, leaving others in tatters.
This world, it changes us, makes us into those we don't know,
But change is a part of life, as long as you're willing to grow.
Always know who you are, don't act like another,
be true to yourself, and never shall you falter.

Separation Anxiety

From across the white room she stares

Before that gaze I am reduced to nothing

For those eyes I will confess my sins

Beg on my knees

Become a priest

If only for a moment she would grant me…

A kind word

The gentle caress of her soft breath

But there is nothing but that cold glare

No tears

Glistening

Reflecting

Refracting

Only rage

Pain

And love

Radiate from those icy orbs

Slamming into my stunned heart

Barely beating…yet beaten

Unable to move…

breath…

live

This, our chosen life together, pledged and sealed in gold

Our Two hearts united

Our Two broken souls finding a way to cleave together

Now torn apart…

Merely miles…

Nearly worlds

Left living this half life

I want my half back

His Heart is Good, His Words are True

His heart is good, his words are true
He never hurts or stumbles
And he has given me the world
In spite of all my failings

He taught me all I knew
About this strange life in a foreign land
And as I failed as I so often do,
He always lent a helping hand
I only hope my sins will be forgiven
My frailty, humanity forgotten

The Dancer

You are too good of a dancer for me
The world’s spinning fast, cant you see
We have lied for so long, it’s become our truth
It’s time to be strong; that much is true

Pitiful, Beautiful

Long nights and bright days
we were an accident waiting to happen
you never ceased to amaze
such lust to be gotten
So I got you, you got me
Never really having each other
There is no room for us three
True love does not smother

Secret Lovers

It began one night with a tender kiss
that surprised both her and him.
The moon was full, the stars were out
the candlelight was dim.
They kissed once more, just like before
and what they feared, they both ignored.
You see, their love was not to be
because their friends would disagree
So lest their romance be discovered
they departed
secret lovers.

It was a secret, none could know
so for a week they stayed apart.
Yet they missed each other badly
Twas a weight upon their hearts.
So in the night they met once more.
New sorts of pleasures they did explore.
His touch was kind, they intertwined
and became one in body and in mind.
Then once their strength they had recovered
they departed
secret lovers.

Then trouble came for the two lovers,
their friends knew something was amiss.
None knew how, but it would seem
that somebody had seen them kiss.
He did not stall, he told them all,
and their friends this did appall.
They kept them away,
and to their dismay,
with their secret now uncovered
they departed
secret lovers.

Now they dream of one another,
dream of being again together.
Another day, another place,
they don't know where or when.
Blessed they were with love sublime.
They'll reunite another time,
and on that day they'll rediscover
what it was like to be
secret lovers.

On The Super Highway Of Love

We’ll tell our kids how we met
On the loved up Internet.
I found you in the search engine of my heart.
Romance at the click of a mouse.
We will never be apart.

We’ll tell our kids how we fell
Into a wishing well,
In the classified ads of romance.
Woman seeks Man with a photograph.
It only took one glance.

Our first date was a winner.
You wooed me over dinner.
I was head over heels from Cupid’s bow.
Man seeks Woman with an arrow.
It only took one kiss to know.

So bless our broadband connection
After so much rejection.
Online dating led us to our fate.
Finding each other at last,
My friend,
My partner,
My mate.

Through the Dark

I embrace my image and the world about me.
There are so many things that I can see.
Life gives me the freedom to sing my song,
and if you want, you can dance along.

The world is my home and the stars give light
and guide my quest to be brave and bright.
I will lead the way for others to follow
so that this day indeed, may not be hollow.

Please grasp my hand and join my delight.
The two of us will talk through the night.
Tomorrow will bring a plan for peace
and you and I will cause fighting to cease.

Cyber Love

Although he cannot hold her close and near
He knows he loves her oh so dear.
He rushes home to read her dreams;
Together they create magnificent schemes
To meet one day despite miles in the way
Of the two of them being together each day.

He smiles and sighs at the things she types for him
And calls the local airport on a simple whim
To ask how much, how long, how soon
To no avail for the answers make him swoon.
His love is real but seems not meant to be
In any world except cyber reality.

Despite that fact, he dreams of her each night
And wakes up with a cheery face so bright
For love is filling up his heart with happiness
That he has found his true love to the west
Someone who knows him, loves, and cares
Who is there for him and truly shares.

Cyber love has gotten him through
Days of pain and days so blue.
He loves his cyber lover more each day
In many ways, too many to say.
He can hold his love close to his heart
And feel her closeness though apart.

Rescue You

I wish I could take your pain away,
I want you to see the light of day,
You’re sorrow is clouding your view of the world,
It’s hard to see the truth unfurled,
I know you loved him with all your heart,
I’m sorry he tore your world apart,
If I could I would take you away,
To a place where the sun shines everyday,
So take my hand on this moonlit path,
We’ll walk together and forget the past,
Our broken hearts and shattered dreams,
Waking at night to each other’s screams,
I’ll hold you all through out the night,
Banishing all of your fears and frights,
Together we can make it through,
'Cause no matter what, I’ll rescue you.

Betrayal

A sense of betrayal, a feeling of desire
Life turned upside down, deep wounds wreathed in fire
Shadows of doubt, tear my heart, plague my soul
All the tears that I've cried, drain my life, leave me cold
Lies and half-truths, often said with a smile
My mind full to bursting, your deceit, your denial
Never before, have I felt so alone
Mistrust and suspicion, my heart's turned to stone
My soul has been twisted, all emotion forsaken
I believed that you loved me, I was sorely mistaken.

The Broken Home

You turn your head,
And my heart breaks.
To see that smile,
Upon your face.
How long's it been?
I cannot tell.
That day you left,
And darkness fell.
All of the tears,
And broken dreams.
Bury my face,
None hear my screams.
I hope she's worth,
This broken home.
A single mom,
Wife all alone.
This story's old,
Before my time.
A man who cheats,
Far past his prime.
All those who would,
Please hear this call.
Lust fades away...
Love Conquers All!
