Two of a kind

To know your own heart
And what makes it beat
You appeared in the dark
Behind secrets we keep

Disguised in your eyes
Is a love that we share
Below the surface it hides
And grows stronger in there

With each memorable touch
You deftly awaken my soul
Mask my face with a blush
Spin our thoughts into gold

Old friends as new friends
We muse as if it’s before
As new trends from old trends
Guide us through another door

Where together we’ll find
What will help us grow strong
You and I are two of a kind
And we’re where we belong

Next to Me

I’d been driving with expectation
To reach a certain destination
Without indulging hesitation

When I first felt you…
Next to me

Heading where I want to belong
Working hard for so very long
After watching my life go wrong

And I still felt you…
Next to me

In the silence there we gelled
Then you spoke and broke the spell
We’d be together, you did foretell

All the while I felt you…
Next to me

Now your thoughts are in my head
Your aim is sure, you often said
Our dear friendship instinctively wed

And I truly felt you …
Next to me

Then we let our loves slip by
Never stopped to reason why
It wasn’t in us to even try

Now I keenly felt you…
Next to me

Time can never be replaced
Once it’s gone it gets erased
Only the future is able to wait

Where I will forever feel you…
Next to me

A Player's Repertoire

If someone desires a real connection with you
Then proceeds to often wounding your heart
Their player’s repertoire has too many angles
And you’ll notice them each, right from the start

Once anyone’s been psychologically burned
Healing takes more than mere passing of time
Because we never forget hard lessons learned
When there’s obvious scars left behind to remind

If you don’t know the signs of a professional gamer
But you do know that trust has got to be earned
Then simply read between all their lines
They’re really not that hard to discern

It’s such a sad state of personal worldly affairs
When romance turns out to be nothing but a joke
And that can cause some lost opportunities
Because spirits have already been customarily broke

I for one want to experience true love again
While believing it will eventually be mine someday
Until such a time though, I’ll be naturally inclined
Just to be satisfied with what joy comes my way

In My Darkest Hour!

WE’RE SO DONE!

In your own words
Blazoned across the page
Is what I see and read

Everyday

I continually ache
Wearing a brave face
Trying not to cave

Inside my head
I feel dead
Dread
Unfed

My needs unmet

When I think of us
I want to run
Far and fast
To forget the past
We shared in fun

Blocking out the sun
I see only life’s stain
Turning off the light
I drink in the rain!

So I can cope
Remaining sane
Placing no blame
Only enduring pain

How casually
And coldly
You gave me the news
I wasn’t good enough

For you!

But that’s cool
I'm not a fool

Now you can stab my heart too
And watch
As it bleeds for you

Except you’ve had some time
To think twice
And you once again
Want to play at making nice

But I’m not your game
Or your prey
So don’t keep looking my way

In fact
I was never the one
You claimed I was

“The One You Love"

Because

WE’RE SO DONE!

An Easy Read

It’s a lucky day to walk cross the street
On the other side there’s someone new to meet

Entering the store I pick up a very old book
Flip through the index and get a once over look

Focusing my attention, it should be an easy read
It spells out all kinds of risk, and how to succeed

So I take this guide to the nearest counter clerk
I’m eager to leave and return to my work

The day is still early and I have my own pages to write
Until the sun sinks low, and fades out of sight

I’ll then have time to open this new to me gem of thought
And I’ll carefully peruse its ideas that I’ve bought

I want to glean some wisdom from the author’s own words
I’m looking for knowledge I’ve never before heard

If I’ve made a good buy I’ll find the material I’m after
And I’ll highlight all the best lines in each chapter

Then by the end, if my mind is struck by an epiphany
The hours I've spent reading will have been worth it to me

Thunder Moon Prince

Unto the earth has emerged a heaven sent treasure

“The Thunder Moon Prince”

Brings us happiness beyond measure

And we celebrate his legacy

Now and forever

The Rising of Thunder Moon!!

I can’t escape this blue distress in moods
This is my fate’s phase under the Thunder Moon
As the goddess of night wantonly tempts we whom
Sacrifice our spirit instinctively to appease earth’s fume
Recklessly or humbly we submit betwixt opulence ablaze
As a creature of the deep, I’m helpless to defend this craze
My body reacts to the violent pull and degree of her velocity
While my feelings are tossed to and fro in the depth of her sea
If only I had a choice or control, I could lend power to my soul
But instead I learned to walk patiently and dance within the flow
To all those who together like me endures this parallel existence
Is there no value in serenity, or a desire to equate our position
Since birth others have always evaluated me as being different
Perhaps the natural world rations to each of us her strength
In the fullness of Thunder's Moon we discover our extent
Within her madness we dare embolden love’s certainty
For within every heart beat craves our own security
By the light of that night we can see tomorrow
As we easily forget any reason for sorrow

Are We Ever Really Free?

As the months went by, you communicated less and less
Leaving me alone, while I traversed a certain darkness
And now I have a tendency to get just a little bit upset
Every time I have to remember all of your forgetfulness
That you mixed with equal amounts of love and tenderness

But, because of your own learned inability to fully trust
You precariously put all the screws you possibly could to us
As they were driven in, I prepared for the echoing hush
That I knew was coming before, and after we broke up

Then, when it happened, I dare say almost rather quickly
You said, “Losing me was the way it had to be!”
And that we would always be good friends, REALLY?
But you needed your space, so you could do some healing

Excuse me?

You wanted to be free, free of me, and still be friendly?

While you see my brain waves roll on their natural frequency
With their own ability to come crashing down on top of me
My sea of bewildering thoughts has to keep me flowing sensibly
To save me from the agony of my or your gated reality

And, as your lips dagger often pierced my sensitive heart
I felt and saw you desiring our worlds to split apart
Since then you haven’t spoken, or asked that we restart
So, forgetting everything about us is actually pretty smart

You can’t cut someone, and expect them not to bleed
And they may never heal, if the wound is far too deep
We all have our tolerance, the level we refuse to go beyond
And once it’s reached, it’s normal to want to move along

Still, I hope only good things may always come your way
And you do find the love that you can really trust, one day
As for me and my life, what else is there left for us to say?
Other than I hope to at long last bond with my soul mate

Chemistry - 101

Love grows closer
After it’s gone,
Teasing
Provoking
Is how we move on.

My fire still burns
From your final spark,
Only from experience
Can feelings ignite in the dark.

Separation
Desperation
Brings out the carnal beast,
Sensuality
or
Spirituality
We breathe in the same heat.

Imaginations
Sensations
Enflames the lost touch,
What we want most
Is all that matters to us.

Your hands gripping my head
Moving to the nape of my neck,
With one soft and slow tug
Our lips just barely brushed.

Between my taut thighs
You wore no disguise,
My wanton free spirit
Made you…

Crave
and
Despise.

Apart,
You only want me more...

Together,
I needed what you adore.

Control

Gives us power
To equally see,
That the urge of our bodies
Is natural chemistry.

The Chase...

While the spark of my youth
Ignites this old mind,
I can still feel the influence
Of my passion, less time.

So,why mustn't I venture out for a run?
When the unbridled chase
Is only half the fun.

Rome Wasn't Built in a Day!

My thoughts are keenly focused
Then suddenly they’re in overdrive
I can’t maintain a targets clear aim
When feelings roughly push me aside

Doggedly I go through the motions
Getting my work ready on my desk
While struggling with all my emotions
I’m thinking about him instead!

He had a mysterious hold on me
That I thought would ease over time
But the harder I try to fiercely resist
I’m compelled to keep looking behind

This is so damned ridiculous!!!
And it’s making me a little bit crazy!
Everything could’ve already been done
If that’s what he’d wanted from me

I’m not the one who gave up the goal
Doubting, and dropping the ball
He stopped playing, let me know that he quit
At least this is what, and how I recall

I’m not a sucker for punishment
So I took my licks and I left
But ever since then I’ve been haunted
By the scenarios deep in my head

I know better than to wish for what’s not
So I blocked his memory from my vision
But I fear this personal battle's been lost
And we’re headed for a painful collision

Or maybe he and I were just a fantasy
There was no way we’d ever get together
And now it’s time for me to forget the past
Perhaps that will make me feel better!

Or maybe, just maybe
I’ll keep sticking to my guns
Because Rome wasn’t built in a day
And once he sees that I really mean business
He’ll relent and finally give me my way

One can still pray...
