THE OUTER LIMITS

Embedded image from another site

Falling fast through a tunnel in space
Spinning and falling picking up the pace
Only darkness – no light along the way
Am I stuck in this black nothing to stay

Suddenly slowing down bit by bit
Peering out - multiple stars lit
Then again spinning and twirling away
Continuing on – no night or day

Finally reaching the outer limits of time
Floating there wondering in my mind
How to return where I came from
Earth - the third planet from the Sun

What is beyond the outer edge of space
Wondering why I was sent to this place
Uncomfortable with being here not knowing
What is beyond and where am I going

SPARKLES

Embedded image from another site

Little dusts of diamonds sparkling everywhere
On cards – decorations – and in the air
Snow dust in winter – frost in the fall
Sun shining through raindrops to enthrall

After Christmas in carpets – a path to walk
They are all year grabbing onto your sock
Tiny little flashes of bright light catching your eye
Encouraging you as you hurry on by

I love sparkles as my family well knows
Don’t send her a card unless sparkles on it glow
Others say plain is better but to me seem too dull
Sparkles brighten up my day and make it full

For light reflects off these little cheerful bits
Shining and cheering you on not to quit
When life at times gets depressing and dull
They are there lighting up like little angels

WINTER FLURRY

Winter Flurry’s turrets stood tall and proud
An illusion in the misty clouds
Princess Kelly knew that was not so
As she looked at it in the blowing snow

Her white dress swirled all around
As the wind blew making a lonely eerie sound
Sadness permeated her soul
As she realized she was all alone

The only royal left to carry on
As she looked over her Kingdom
Her family taken from her in one fell swoop
Caused by an evil greedy Duke

He came from a distance land
Attacking and killing everyone in his path
She escaped and hid in the woods
With a knight wearing a metal hood

They managed to avoid the evil Duke’s army
Until they finished pillaging causing carnage
They took and took until nothing was left
Then marched on leaving the kingdom bereft

Princess Kelly knew she was now in charge
With one lone Knight for a guard
She knew she needed to carry on for those left
That all needed to help pick up the mess

With no time to mourn her great loss
She prayed to God to help her pick up this cross
Thus with the Knight’s faithful help
They rebuilt the Kingdom to great wealth

She became Queen and he King
Across the land wedding bells began to ring
They had children and she had a family again
She and her husband had a long and happy reign

They rebuilt the castle and army stronger
So no attacking forces could plunder
They gave thanks to God every day
For all the blessings that came their way

About this poem:
A Facebook friend of mine wanted me to write a poem using her name as a princess or her little cousin's - I used her name as the princess and her little cousin as Winter Flurry for the Kingdom. Her name is Winter. It's a silly little poem to honor 2 people and their names.

ACCEPT ME AS I AM

Embedded image from another site

I may not be the same as you
Seeing things with a different view
Feeling things and reacting to them
Doesn’t make me an abnormal friend

Trying to make fun of me
And trying to change me to please
Making my confidence completely fold
Not everyone fits the same mold

I accept you the way you are
Not everyone is an outgoing shining star
Some of us are quiet and serious
Sometimes acting quite mysterious

That doesn’t make us an object to ridicule
Or to be made felt like a complete fool
Please be kind and gentle with us
Don’t push and make such a fuss

Dream Catcher

Dream Catcher blowing gently above
Weave me a Dream of my true love
Passing through your delicate web
Nothing but good dreams doth reach my bed

Dreaming a beautiful dream in my mind
Caught in a different world and time
A dream of gentle ocean breezes
Sounds and smells to my mind pleases

Sounds of water from a mountain stream flowing
Speeding along to the ocean a going
Soothing my spirit like a smooth stone
Meandering and always forever on the roam

The sound of a wolf howling on the wind
Touching my soul as though we are kin
A full moon and bright stars shining at night
Like hung candles flickering their lights

Let me dream of my true love tonight
Let me see them in the moonlight
And I pray when light doth come at daybreak
They will still be there when I awake

THE CHRIST IN 'CHRIST'MAS

God’s Word Came Down
In Human Flesh form
As Virgin Mary’s Son
Named Baby Boy Jesus
He Grew and studied
The Word at temple
Water Baptism by John
God gave his Blessing
With the Holy Spirit
Desert 40 days/nights
Resisted the Devil’s temptation
He picked 12 Disciples
Eleven Saints – One Devil
Healed Spiritually and Physically
Gave God the Glory
Was betrayed by Judas
Suffered abused and tortured
Then made to walk
Carry cross to Calvary
Where he was nailed
Suffered for three hours
Said “It is Done”
Placed in a tomb
For 3 long days
Rose on third day
He ascended into Heaven
Loves and forgives us
If we accept Him
Our reward will be
Life with Him forever

IMAGINE - FINAL PART

Embedded image from another site

Imagine the world without the Candle Christ
The candle symbolizing Jesus – his love and sacrifice
The little King in a manger came to save all of those
His children from the beginning of time he had chose

Imagine the world without that Christ candle
It would be like a lantern without its handle
He brought the lights of Hope, Peace, Joy and Love
Which are all gifts from our Heavenly Father above

But the greatest gift even more then all these
Is the promised gift of eternal life if we but believe
For in that sacrifice He took all our sins away
If we ask for forgiveness – our debt is already paid

So this Christmas as you celebrate the birth
Of that baby born 2,000 years ago on this earth
The lights of Hope, Peace, Joy and Love shine bright
And the love of God and his Spirit guide our life

IMAGINE - PART 4

Embedded image from another site

Imagine the world without the Candle Love
The Word came as a human from above
As a perfect beautiful baby boy
To give us Love to fill that empty void

His name is Immanuel – God with us
Known to one and all of us as Jesus
He commanded us to love one another
As we are all sisters and brothers

He showed nothing but love to everyone
For Christ was God’s perfect son
In His love He gave His life as a sacrifice
He died on the cross to pay the price

The baby who was turned away from the inn
Died for us so that we may be forgiven of our sins
The Candle Love came and left His Spirit in our heart
So that God and his children will never be apart

IMAGINE - Part 3 - Candle Joy

Embedded image from another site
IMAGINE – Part 3

Imagine the world without the Candle Joy
The laugh of a child playing with a toy
New parents celebrating a new born birth
Celebrating holidays with sounds of mirth

Without Joy the whole world would be sad
Going around with nothing at all to feel glad
Every day would be like a day of mourning
Nothing to look forward to each morning

What a depressing place it would be
With no happiness in sight to see
Weeping, crying long faces all the time
Of Joy and gladness there would be no sign

On Christmas Day the Candle Joy came
In the form of a baby and Jesus was His name
He gave us the ability to see Joy in all things
Including death as our Spirit then to Heaven wings

IMAGINE - PART 2 - Peace

Embedded image from another site
Imagine the world without the Candle Peace
War and mayhem would rule and never cease
Evil would reach anywhere and everywhere
Causing chaos – confusion and fear

The 2nd Advent candle stands for the Prince of Peace
Because He came to give us spiritual release
Away from the Prince of Darkness and his reign
In Faith giving us Peace until He returns again

He told us to love our enemies as ourselves
To not be influenced by the forces of Hell
Live in Peace and harmony everyday
With all those at work, home and play!

He could have had 10,000 Angels save him that day
Instead He died for all our sins on the cross of shame
He chose Peace instead of fighting and waging war
Showing us God’s love for all of us and more

The coming of the Prince of Peace was to show the way
To have us follow in His footsteps each and everyday
Until the time He returns in triumph to eternally stay
With all His blessed children who believe in Him we pray

IMAGINE - Part 1 - The Candle Hope

Embedded image from another site

Advent season has begun
It is more than just calendar fun
Opening each new day to see
What the surprise underneath will be

Imagine the world without the candle Hope
Without it how could we ever cope
Hope gives us a light in the dark
Even though it may be only a small spark

The World without Hope would be
Without light anywhere we could see
A place of nothing but despair and fear
With Darkness ruling over everywhere

This Hope came to us in the form of a newborn
Lighting His way into the world in human form
The human body died on the cross that past day
But the Holy Spirit and Hope are still alive today

GUARDIAN ANGEL OF THE ANIMALS

Embedded image from another site

All of the animals are weeping today
For their loving protector has gone away
Leaves of ruby, gold, amber hanging down
Tears of crystal dripping to the ground

Small animals huddling in their dens
While large ones stood hanging their heads
All the woodlands and fields were in mourning
For the loss of their earthly angel that morning

She would come and speak to them softly
Loving and protecting them fiercely
She would take the injured and sick to heal
Returning them to the woods, air or field

They were sad for themselves but happy for her
For in Heaven she was with God’s creatures there
Walking among them – happy and free of pain
Knowing that one day they would see her again
