Beneath the Surface

Wish you could know, it's profound to see.
The secrets, the pain, that's all you can read?

In the darkest of night, what do you perceive?
The remnants of a man, destroyed for the thrill?
The scars of a father unable to heal?

You look in my eyes and I know not what you see.
Perhaps just a riddle? A pupil? Not me.

Ice King

Fearless, heartless, empowered by hate,
I stand alone, in darkness delight,
a towering blight, untouchable and great,
crushing the dreams of all I forsake.

The cries that remain only fuel my disdain,
I laughed in their face as they withered in pain,
freezing their tears to expand on my reign.

One by one, they crash into my walls,
wave by wave, they perish and fall.
It was you that brought an end to it all,
searing your way through, into my hall.

Awestruck and jaded, I refused your words,
whilst my castle invaded by singing white birds,
you implore that I listen and decide afterwards.

My halls, they echoed incredible song,
her beauty, her eyes, could not resist long.
The ice walls had melted, my heart became warm,
I felt like a rainbow in the eye of a storm.

Years had gone bye, so many, so few,
the feeling of love, I once never knew,
nor the feeling of pain, until I fell for you.

Hopeless, thoughtless, destroyed by fate,
I sit alone, in relentless daylight,
an embarrassing sight, as all cheer and sing,
"The Ballad of the Lonely Ice King."

SUCCUBUS

Via your heart, I tear through your soul.
I feed on your pain to thrive in the cold.
The heartfelt and loyal, defied by the bold.
I am love's leach, the story untold.

You-Know-Who

In return for the love, the love I had for you,
you stabbed me in the chest, an attempt to pierce my heart.
You must've planned it well, deep inside your tiny shell,
and although I live, to dine within this hell,
I stand alone, waiting to rebel.

Edge of the Sea

Into harsh waters and bright foreign mist,
we sailed through the fog and into abyss.
The shoreline wall, out of nowhere it came,
surviving my brethren and screaming in vain.

Washed up on shore, beneath a near distant sun.
I trek farther and farther, yet feel I never begun.
The walking, tiresome and endless it seems,
but what's atop those hills that I see,
a silhouette in the glare of the sun's awful beams?
As I walk closer, I tremble in fear,
perhaps it's a witch, a siren, demon or seer.

My fears go unfounded as I'm awed in a trance,
I can't look away from her soft graceful dance.
Naked beneath a lonely pale tree,
she looks in my eyes as she descends to me.
Her hands are so smooth and ever so fair as
she runs her fingers through my wet filthy hair.
My mind filled with hope, encumbered with glee,
I only now ask, just how this could be?
How could this have happened to me?
My head bitten off at the edge of the sea.

Desolation Undone

Look into her absent stare, the hollow words from lips so fair.
Wipe away her desperate cries, her broken dreams, her barren skies
to heal the pain of which just lies, behind her tears and desolate eyes.

DARKENED BLISS

As she falls through the hollowed bridge of emptiness
and beyond a barren void of loneliness,
she finds herself and her eternal bliss
within the darkness of this world so amiss.

Unsanitary Blindness

A tank full of water, a bowl filled with pee,
I drank from the toilet and now I can't see.

FRIEND-ZONED

Forever it seemed, many hours a day,
she waited alone with no words to say.
Her husband had told her, time and again,
to question or talk was an insult to him.
For years and years, as time went right bye,
she never considered to just say goodbye.

Her friend, her best friend in fact,
spent many quiet years in fear of how she'd react.
What was it he yearned to say? Was silence the only way?

Overwhelmed and drowning in a sea of despair,
the years that she lost became too much to bear.
Afraid and alone, yet once again,
her shroud of apathy begins to cave in
as tears pierce through her lonesome veil,
the pillow muffled her explosive wail.

For several minutes, hours it seemed,
she cried, she whimpered and screamed,
but in a moment she shuttered in fear,
a knock on the door was quite plain to hear.
She struggled to wipe the tears from her eyes
as she stumbles to the door while repairing her guise,
she opens the door and to her surprise,
she finds herself the passenger as her best friend drives
and they live happily for the rest of their lives.
