Cropover time on my island

Every year we celebrate the end of the sugar cane crop in a festival we call "Cropover". (The name speaks for itself)
This festival has grown throughout the years. It is a cohobblopot of traditional ceremonies, music tents and parties. My best friend and her husband are here and we visited a music tent last night. The performers were fantastic. It was a mixture of old and new artistes and music.
Wonderful vibes! We partied and enjoyed ourselves. It was great.
Today is Kadooment day - the last festival day which culminates in a big street party with people joining bands (for a fee) dressed in costumes and dancing in the street from our national stadium to Spring Garden Highway while the latest music of the season plays. They are competitions for best band, most played song etc. banana
I will be enjoying it all from the comfort of my tv. rolling on the floor laughing Much better view.
We may go to the highway later as it is the biggest street party of the year.
Wishing everyone a wonderful day today!

The Notting Hill festival is pretty good But nothing can beat home. Actually there are festivals in both Toronto and New York similar to the Notting Hill which all have roots in Caribbean festivals. It is a nice way to remember home.
Hope you are well and remember everyone is welcome on our island!

Hi Shay

Sounds like fun! We have regular Mardi Gras' at one of our coastal holiday destinations. All night craft markets, music, sampling local cuisine and parties. Just an all round colourful event with the distinct smell of popcorn and candy floss filling the air.

Enjoy the last day of the festival!
