I'm thinking of getting a dishwasher.

In today's modern world, a man has little time or inclination for washing up. Especially all the greasy plates and cutlery, and all sorts of congealed muck which can grow fungus.

However, if I get a dishwasher and she cant cook properly or snorts when she laughs, technically I'd be better off doing them myself.

Once you get something into your head

I was once swimming in the sea on holiday; not very far out and my feet could still touch the floor. I noticed something moving from the corner of my eye, and when I turned my head to look I saw a narrow black object cutting through the water and coming towards me. I have never moved so fast in all my life, and was greatly relieved to get safely to the beach. As I looked back towards the sea there was no longer any sign of whatever I saw, and no one else seemed to have seen it at all. I was sure it had been a shark.

I knew there weren’t supposed to be sharks in these waters, but that didn’t prevent me from thinking that I had almost had a close encounter with one. I did some research later which confirmed that there had never been sharks spotted in the area, and certainly never an attack by one. In the end I had to concede to myself that I had probably been mistaken, and that what I had seen -or thought I had seen- was no more than a clump of seaweed or a piece of driftwood. Even so, whenever I return to Skegness, I cannot bring myself to go back into the sea.

Life in general.

Have you ever been watching a sporting event on television that went into overtime and the event lasted longer than anticipated?

Right after that event, the television announces we are now bringing you to your regularly scheduled program already in progress.

That is life.

We just jump into life already in progress.

Isn't that a bit weird to think about?

Where did we come from? What were we watching before and what is the program going to be after?

cheers dunno

Maybe more like a video game too...where it is a television program that is interactive.

What role do we play in it?
and
Have we overstepped our boundaries in this interaction? ....meaning, have we become too aware or knowledgeable of our situation and have we come to expect more from it than originally anticipated?

...just some thoughts

When we were given this physical vehicle (our bodies)...has our freewill accepted this challenge? Were we just randomly given it? Or were we forced to accept it? For ultimately what purpose?

...just some more thoughts

laugh

Are we here to solve a problem/mystery? Are we here to help others to make future watcher/players better off than we are/were? Are we just meant to be workers? Or, are we here to just hoard resources for ourselves? For sure though...we are here to reproduce vehicles(bodies) to allow new players to enter.

As far as we know...through our span of interacting (till our death), we are ultimately judged as to whether or not we were good or bad for the overall television program. Did we positively or negatively contribute? At least that is what our multi-thousand year old religions makes us believe. Religion...the "already in progress" television program's collective message.

How will SA be affected if a nuclear war broke out in Europe?

This realistic, facts-based simulation is divided into 3 stages: Nuclear War, Nuclear Fallout and Nuclear Winter. Watch this video to find out what will happen to the world during each of those stages.

Whats more is,
South African internet speeds have suddenly dipped following a WACS (West African Cable System) and SAT-3 (South Atlantic 3) cable breakage.

The damage was first reported on Sunday evening when users started complaining about slow and sluggish internet speeds. Network status reports confirmed that on Sunday morning, the SAT-3 cable lost connectivity and the WACS followed soon after.

Further investigation on the breakage confirmed that the damage was caused by a rock fall in the Congo Canyon – a massive submarine canyon found off the coast of Congo. It is the largest undersea canyon in the world.

As a result of the breakage, a cable repair ship known as the Léon Thévenin was sent out to begin repairs. According to Marine Vessel Traffic, the ship is currently docked at Mombasa, Kenya and is currently listed as “restricted maneuverability”. (< no clue what that means)

here is one that is a bit obscure

What do you think about owls?

There are a lot of weird things I have either heard or seen about them.

Have you every seen the 4th kind movie?
What about Bohemian Grove?
Recently seen a blog referencing a huge owl disappearing, not before changing color and light orbs following.
I have had an owl hit more car and put a huge dent in it?? Didn't think a bird could do something like that.

Any weird owl stories?

America, the land of opportunity and freedom

Internationally, the USA is regarded as a land of so many things. Most of them are not so good. Depending upon where you live and how you live, it defines and influences how you perceive this great country.

I say great because from my own experience and how I have seen and lived in some places of the world, I as a citizen and have lived here more than anywhere else, the Philippines where I was born included, find this country the most diversified (earned the famous saying: the melting pot of the world) and most sought after from the rest of the world.

When I was in Australia, I learned that we the Americans are regarded as loud, arrogant and warriors, but at the same time, I also learned that we are the land of opportunity, kindness and generosity.

When I lived in Europe, albeit, a very short while, almost all the people I met had been dying to come and visit if not work and live in America. I still find this to be true, specially from the poor countries of the world.

Anyways, like I said, our perceptions and understanding of this country is as diversified and as polarized as our understanding or lack thereof depending on many things and reasons.

I do understand if there are some that might find our values and general attitudes, obnoxious and lacking humility. But just as any country in the world there is no way, one's perception and experience can truly represent the general identity of any place.

For me and the rest of those that migrated here, I find it still very responsive for those who seek to fulfill the not so elusive "American Dream."

This blog is not to change anyone's perception, it only represents my opinion and those that might find it as correct as I do.

I love this country and inspite of all the negative connotations we have earned as a nation, it is still the best for me, my children and my family.

Have a nice Sunday fellow bloggers, readers and contributors if any.

Your comments are all appreciated and feel free to say what you like or dislike in our country, including me of course, and I am sure so many of you don't like me and what I believe in. That is okay. Bring it on.

I am sure there are so many of us who's opinions are favorable and not so favorable. I understand. We are all different and therefore your opinion is for me, just yours and I respect it.hug

putting smoking in its place

this is a blog for the smokers on CS - the social, the regular, the trying-to-quit, and even those who call themselves non-smokers but turn up for meets reekin' like a lum, or keep bumming 'just one' from you.

smoking

And no, we are not convening this meeting behind the stinking garbage bins. That's partly what this is about. We're being hustled, so we are. I don't think any countries allow smoking indoors in public buildings or any public transport any more. Public open spaces are under threat. Laws are coming in making it illegal to smoke in a house or car if there is a child around. Some countries already have them, so the kiddies have to sit down and think about their options. Do they shop mommy or daddy or the grandparents to the authorities, and likely get cut out of the will? Or did they remind themselves that shutting up will mean mommy / daddy / grandparents will die all the sooner, making them rich rich RICH in the shortest possible time ...

smoking

My blog, my rules - this is only for smokers, and our special places to smoke. In fact the importance of having a special place to smoke. Whether you have one or two cigs a day, or a few a week, or whether you smoke thirty or more every day - it's time to make a special place, or talk about the special place you already, the haven where no-one can get on your case.

smoking

Any non-smokers who feel the urgent need to say smoking is unhealthy / a disgusting habit / they quit cold turkey from 100 a day and never looked back / any other hostile, pompous, boastful or unpleasant comments, should go look at a handy blog Harbal has up for unwanted comments. Our lungs, our choice. When we want to make it your choice we will ask for your opinion. Thank you for respecting our rights.
