How will SA be affected if a nuclear war broke out in Europe?

This realistic, facts-based simulation is divided into 3 stages: Nuclear War, Nuclear Fallout and Nuclear Winter. Watch this video to find out what will happen to the world during each of those stages.

Whats more is,
South African internet speeds have suddenly dipped following a WACS (West African Cable System) and SAT-3 (South Atlantic 3) cable breakage.

The damage was first reported on Sunday evening when users started complaining about slow and sluggish internet speeds. Network status reports confirmed that on Sunday morning, the SAT-3 cable lost connectivity and the WACS followed soon after.

Further investigation on the breakage confirmed that the damage was caused by a rock fall in the Congo Canyon – a massive submarine canyon found off the coast of Congo. It is the largest undersea canyon in the world.

As a result of the breakage, a cable repair ship known as the Léon Thévenin was sent out to begin repairs. According to Marine Vessel Traffic, the ship is currently docked at Mombasa, Kenya and is currently listed as “restricted maneuverability”. (< no clue what that means)

Hello Luke,

A nuclear war anywhere would affect us all sadly.

I thought the one in the Bering Sea was the largestdunno

As for restricted movement it simply means it cannot get out of the way of other seafarers.

How are the little 4 legged pals.

Yes, you are right.
Zhemchug Canyon (from the Russian ??????, "pearl") is an underwater canyon located in the middle of the Bering Sea.

I think this will work...we will see...
Interesting. Very scary.
But with 6 Billion+ people on the planet, should we worry about an event that only kills a mere half billion?

Noting this simulation does not include the sleeper subs which at the start of the conflict go deep and wait 2 or 3 weeks before launching their salvo so as to catch enemy leaders coming out of their bunkers.

Hi T, yes all will be affected, but the lingering death and suffering and the children that had nothing to do with this criminal Biden, will be unbearable in years to come. Nuclear is a lingering death sentence for those that escaped the initial flash and death.

Hope all is well with you.

Hi Z, I'll take your word for it. Guess there are many unknown canyons in the sea waiting to be discovered still.dunno

I truly can't comprehend your comment.
What I can gather is that you personally have NEVER witnessed death and human suffering first hand ever. If you have then I'd suggest that you get some serious physiological help from somewhere.

he has in the past had some sought of association with the American military, has stated he spends a fair bit of his fiddling with AK47 rifles, ha stated that he repacks bullets for various legal firearms to increase the rounds lethal status and stuff like that.
America never looked after its injured military very well in the past, injured personnel were normally only supported by other volunteer war veterans, so Ken callous demeanour is sought of understandable given the bullshit American troops heads are full of, the chances of physiological is pretty low.

To help service members perform better in the field, military training emphasizes the importance of certain traits associated with traditional masculinity, including suppression of emotion and self-reliance. But when veterans return home, strict adherence to these traits can become detrimental, leading to more severe post-traumatic stress disorder symptoms and making it more difficult to treat, according to research published by the American Psychological Association.

October 19, 2020
The American Psychological Association has called on the Department of Defense and Congress to address serious gaps in the military’s mental health care system revealed in a report from the DoD Office of the Inspector General.
there is a web page that helps people find support
Vets can phone The NVF and the Lifeline for Vets™ - 888-777-4443

If there was ever a nuclear conflict, I'd hope that all sides would nuke South Africa just because it was there.
rolling on the floor laughing Guilty. I make the best hunting ammo of any 20 gunsmith shops in this area. Yes, some sort of association with different American militaries is a very good way to describe it. The association varies from decade to decade. Sometimes none, and poof they ringing my phone or knocking on my door again and offering money if I do stuff (admittedly sometimes just read a few pages and offer an opinion).
Yes I have repaired or rebuilt a few AKs. Made ghost guns too, ARs, Glock clones, 1911s, etc. Luckily that is still legal in most of the US. I may do a comparative video about the AK vs the M4, but I also think Smallarmssolutions (not to mentions Forgottenweapons and inrangeTV) beat me to it, so what would the point be? I had a neighbor woman come here to try an AK the yesterday. I have to agree with her assessment both the AK and the M4 are a lot easier to hit moving targets with when they have red dot sights on them. It was an enjoyable visit. Amongst other things we compared gamma counts on a legal Cesium137 source on out respective gamma detection devices. Totally useless for the larger counts of course, but there is only 1 place in the US where readings that high can be lawfully obtained for a private citizen. Almost time to send one of my devices back there for a recertification. Hers just came back with a new sticker. Good for years to come.

I am not sure how you make the jump to disabled or wounded vets, but yes, they need more support and money to VA programs. I have done some volunteering for WoundedWarrriors and many more volunteers and donations are welcome.

I stand corrected on the world's population. It is currently 8.1 Billion people. Only 1/16th (what is that, 6.25%?) of us would be killed according to the video in the nuclear exchange Luke stays up nights worrying about, while the rest of us dream of strawberry shortcake and hot chocolate and gorgeous women in bikinis on sunny tropical beaches. I don't think the existence of humanity is in danger from an event that only kills fewer than 7% of us. If nothing else the nuclear winter will end the speculation and worry about global warming.
Not sure of the time frames but I'll say about a year ago ken20 told me he was not in the military. So that rules out the possibility of him ever been in a war situation or him being a veteran. Personally I think the 'talk' just derives from pure American arrogance. That will change once Brics and most of the globe start avoiding the dollar as international currency. Not that any decent country will gloat about what the future holds but I think that they brought this on themselves. handshake
Shouldn't have said never. I do have an Honorable Discharge, but that was many decades ago. More recently a State made me a Warrant, but after a decade of that I retired and went inactive reserve. The between times were spent meeting people under one alphabet soup or another and giving people deserving of one some really bad days. I did Blackwarer a bit, but even that was almost a decade ago. These days I just putter about helping one neighbor with her horses, helping another re-wire and paint her house, just being a neighborhood handy man for fun (when not making coffee for travelers at a 711).
Sad to say that you have convinced me that you are just another hate filled American that was misled from birth. Your ramblings remind me of someone that is using Crystal Meth and the the inner feelings pour put in a verbal diarrhea. This I know as I'm helping kids and addicted young persons presently here in SA. My advice to you is to take time off and re evaluate your life. The hatred you portray against the Russian population is definitely not normal in a sane human being and will ultimately affect your personal life too.
I hear a couple of Russian White Swans touched in SA , got anything on that Luke ?
The White Swans are Russia's nuclear bombers..
Hi there Butcher,
Heck I'm not sure about recently but Russia sent a group of military planes, two of them bombers called Tu-160s or “White Swans,” over to South Africa as a “military-to-military exercise,” around the ND of October 2019.The purpose of the operation was to develop “bilateral military cooperation” between the two nations, was what I understood.

May the 4th 2023, saw a Russian cargo plane land at a military base here apparently to drop off some mail for the Russian embassy. laugh

That's about all I know of Russian planes landing in SA.
Cheers Luke thumbs up it's pretty hard to get info about anything on the African continent, it's a bit like US news/info you have to take it with a teaspoon of salt and a jug of beer..
Responding to the original question about SA, well obviously after the nuclear exchange there won't be enough left of Russia to prop up any government, much less far away South Africa's. I don't think the radiation sweeping the Northern hemisphere will be much of an issue at that location. There are some fragile peaces in Africa that were/are maintained more by the threat of some big foreign government interfering than by self-restraint. Those big foreign governments will be gone and many people on a continent once known to have cannibals will be hungry (literally) and looking around for a meal. They will also be wanting to move South to get away from the radiation. Everyone in Africa knows South Africa is the richest and most prosperous country on that continent. How strong is what remains of S.A.'s army is it compared to the rest of Africa's? Has S.A. been developing it's education, agriculture, infrastructure and economic prosperity for the past 40 years since apartheid ended or have it's leaders been more focused on enriching themselves and letting poverty and decay spread? If it has been focused on improving things and not becoming a consumer nation full of poverty and drug addicts, then it may survive quite well. If not, then things will make the things you saw in Angola look like the gentle dreams of a child.
@Butcher,
I just read this a few minutes ago.:

US presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. told political commentator Tucker Carlson that the United States had established biological laboratories in Ukraine as part of Pentagon initiatives related to developing biological weaponry.

"We have Biolabs in Ukraine because we are developing bioweapons," Kennedy said. "Those bioweapons are using all kinds of new synthetic biology, CRISPR technology, and genetic engineering techniques that were unavailable to a previous generation."

Of course one will get those fools (similar to the one above ^^) that will condone this with a looong pathetic story that intrigue the not so bright members. laugh
rolling on the floor laughing
I would suggest that you stop making a total fool out of yourself.

I know is difficult to accept that America's time has come and soon it will be gone.

I'm not here to entertain fools so please knock yourself out trying to convince yourself and others it's not true.
Good luck my boy.
laugh
Your irrelevant attempts at insults aside, if the nuclear war in the Northern hemisphere comes, the fate of South Africa (which is after all the title of your blog) will be one of two choices I state. Good luck.
R F Kennedy jr is 1 of the sensible US politicians Luke thumbs up

The Ukraine Russia peace talks from now on will be Chaired Mediated by China, the US had the Chair position before but some how have given it up to China..
The reason behind China taking the head Chair in the peace talks was the US can't be it due to their involvement in the Ukraine, the US is rather ashamed about it all..
LoL that is funny. Ukraine has no interest in participating in peace actions until after Russia pulls out of Crimea and the Black Sea.
Utter rubbish Ken
Ukraine's SSR constitution binds Ukraine to the Democratic Russian Constitution & its Bill of rights. Ukraine was not one of the five old USSR states that elected to leave in 1991.
Try respect more views of other member on CS rather than the lying bulldust Obama, Biden, Jesuits and Nazi right wing clowns attempt to promote. Not that your country does for once try respecting the rule of law for dispute resolution instead of mass murder
Wow, you actually believe the conspiracy started and spread by QAnon, a right-wing propaganda group known for spreading lies and misinformation. and often quoted t by the entertainer Tucker Carlson as proven in his latest court appearance.

And you have the audacity to suggest that others need to open their eyes, God help SA if there are more like you.
And are therefor we are able accept your left-wing leanings rizlared are to be trusted, factual without fault and without been driven by causes that you can walk on water:
So we can of course believe Steve Sweeney who writes for Morning Star, the socialist daily newspaper published in Great Britain. He is also a People's Assembly National Committee member, patron of the Peace in Kurdistan campaign, and a proud trade unionist. Steve Sweeney escribe para Morning Star, el diario socialista publicado en Gran Bretaña. También es miembro del Comité Nacional de la Asamblea Popular, patrocinador de la campaña Paz en Kurdistán y un orgulloso sindicalista. Be right up you alley wouldn't it?

After months of denial, U.S. admits to running Ukraine biolabs
June 14, 2022
In March leaked papers appeared to suggest that its operations in Ukraine were sensitive while Kiev was reportedly blocked from public disclosure about the program.

According to a document signed between the two nations, Ukraine is obliged to transfer the dangerous pathogens to the U.S. Department of Defense for biological research.

Those who had raised concerns over the presence of the biolabs have been dismissed as conspiracy theorists and accused of regurgitating Russian disinformation.

But comments made by U.S. Deputy Secretary of state Victoria Nuland in March prompted further suspicions when she appeared to confirm the biological program, saying she feared the labs would “fall into Russian hands.”
China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said on Friday that the U.S. must explain its activities and called on it to stop “single-handedly opposing the establishment of a verification mechanism for the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC).

“As I stressed time and again, the U.S. conducts more bio-military activities than any other country in the world.

“Moreover, the U.S. is the only country opposing the establishment of a verification mechanism for the BWC.

“The international community has long had concerns over this. Recently, Russia has further revealed the US’s bio-military activities in Ukraine and raised clearly that the US has violated the BWC.
We beg to differ. The Central Committee of the USSR declared Ukraine to totally dependent of the USSR and a free sovereign nation in 1991. Ukraine also declared independence and changed their Constitution that year. Further in 1994 Russia, the UK and the US all agreed that if Ukraine gave their nuclear weapons to Russia (which they stupidly did) all 3 would forever respect Ukraine as a sovereign, independent nation and defend their right to be independent. , That is well known history and no amount of denying it will change it. Sure people born after 1990 may not remember it, but everyone alive in say 1965 probably has direct memory fo those events.
I think NATO may have thrown in the towel in the Ukraine war Ken, thank God for that.. cheering
Hi Rob,
People that are brainwashed by msm really don't impress me as they will be the oneto bear the brunt of their puppet masters when all is said and done. Trust me when I say that that day is not far away.
Unfortunately fools will always be inclined to follow rather than lead.

It's just a matter of time now.beer cheers
I beg to differ Ken: Your understanding reading Wikipedia is not correct if it was then why on earth would Ukraine adopted a new constitution on 28 June 1996? Why did Biden the day before UN passed its resolution the day before would Biden tell Arseniy Yatsenyuk on April 22 2014 they needed make changer to the Ukraine constitution.
Adopted at the Fifth Session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on 28 June 1996

Ukraine officially declared itself an independent state on August 24, 1991, when the communist Supreme Soviet (parliament) of Ukraine proclaimed that Ukraine would no longer follow the laws of the USSR, and only follow the laws of the Ukrainian SSR, de facto declaring Ukraine's independence from the Soviet Union.
From Brezhnev to Khrushchev: Ukraine had a huge influence on the Soviet Union, something Kiev now prefers to downplay.
On the contrary, by the 1950s, the Ukrainian SSR had become a full-fledged statelet that had its own constitution and flag and even parliament. In fact, its structure mirrored that of the government of the Soviet Union itself. Ukraine’s policy was determined by the Communist Party of Ukraine with the Politburo being its highest body of power; its legislative branch was represented by the Supreme Council (this later became the Verkhovna Rada); and executive power was wielded by the Council of Ministers.

In 1926, Odessa’s population consisted of 160,000 Russians and 73,000 Ukrainians. Kharkov, which was at the time the Ukrainian SSR’s capital city, had 154,000 Russians and 160,000 Ukrainians. Back then, the criteria for establishing one’s nationality were quite loose: sometimes, it was enough to say where a person’s household was located while native language could have been disregarded.

How the Bolsheviks created Ukraine
Kiev needs to be reminded that in its present form Ukraine was completely created by the Bolsheviks. Ukrainian nationalists and democrats have been cursing Lenin and Stalin for more than 30 years, but it was they who created the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic (Ukrainian SSR). The Russian regions were transferred to the Ukrainian SSR entirely with the Russian population. If we take historical “Ukraine” means five (!) regions.

Only thanks to the Bolsheviks, Ukraine became the largest state in Europe (if you do not take the Russian Federation). If the Ukrainian nationalists won the Civil War, which began in 1917, then “Ukraine” would have been left without Galicia and Volhynia (they were captured by the Poles), without Donbass, Crimea and the Black Sea provinces. And the Red Army and the Bolsheviks, having defeated both the White Guards and the Petliurists (nationalists) in Ukraine, did nothing but increase the possessions of Ukraine.
A couple things of note: the referendum was not held in six of the fifteen republics (Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Moldova, Georgia and Armenia). All of these except Armenia had basically elected non-communist governments in republican elections the previous year, and Lithuania had even declared independence in March 1990. Latvia and Estonia held referenda endorsing independence two weeks before the Soviet referendum, and Georgia held a similar referendum two weeks after. So even holding the vote was a fractured, not Union-wide affair.
And interestingly it got more yes votes than the first Union-wide question - the OP figures are actually for the second question, while the first question got 22,110,889 votes, or 71.48%.

In any event, the treaty was signed by the negotiating representatives on April 23, and went out to the participating republics for ratification (Ukraine's legislature refused to ratify), and a formal adoption ceremony for the new treaty was scheduled to take place on August 20.

That never happened, because members of Gorbachev's own government launched a coup the previous day in order to prevent the implementation of the new treaty. The coup fizzled out after two days, but when Gorbachev returned to Moscow from house arrest in Crimea, he had severely diminished power, and Russian President Boris Yeltsin (who publicly resisted the coup plot) had vastly increased power, banning the Communist Party on Russian territory, confiscating its assets, and pushing Gorbachev to appoint Yeltsin picks for Soviet governmental positions.
It might take a couple of years for the brainwashed to digest all you have stated. Good luck with that.laugh
Might as well give Ken a chance to reconsider his present understanding, be good if he does know there are differing views around, why even the elected President of Democratic Russia happens to pass on his opinion on the subject matter under discussion:
Article by Vladimir Putin ”On the Historical Unity of Russians and Ukrainians“

He happens to be its President unlike Biden he was actually elected even if might have been some issues so Biden shouldn't think he can bluff his way into sitting on the seat of the Democratic Russian Federation as its president comfort
Funniest thing I have read on CS in a long time.
"why even the elected President of Democratic Russia happens to pass on his opinion"

<Not sure in any way what your ramble about Russia and Ukraine has to do with South Africa burning or not after a Northern hemisphere nuclear wa. I stated my prediction of S.A.'s probable fate and will now exit this discussion.>
