The problem with positive-thinking ...

First off, I ‘love’ positive-thinking gurus, well, to a point,
Some do get nauseating past that point, though...,
They certainly pose many valid, logical, unarguable tenets,
They quote all the ‘holy’ scriptures and the gurus gone before them to corroborate their philosophies,
And, I have tremendously benefitted from applying their advice,
Not always, though, not always...
You see, in the final analysis,
You can only really criticise them after 50 long years of applying yourself,
I mean, you can’t give up before then,
“C’mon, its just that one more step that will fill your bank account...”, goes the tired old litany...,
But, but, but,
If after 50 long years you still have not ‘reached-your-dream’,
Well then, carry on dreamin’ in ‘the-other-side’ sucker, who are you going to complain to now anyway?
They’re all long gone by now...,
God bless the gurus...

time...the past, the present, the future, seems to shape my philosophy. as events unfirl, the twists and turns of the road that I travel determine my aim. I suppose that I am adrift, carried along by the prevailing wind.

gurus often just regurgitate what the masses have already figured out and just need to be put in to words. i could be a guru! then, so could any of you....laugh

Mmmmm. The power of positive thinking, is unmistakable. So too are the dangers of not thinking for yourself.

Thanks guys, i would like to throw in another quote from a deep lady called Mary, she has a free ebook, [send me email for her website}:
"It is the desire of the ego mind to continue to dig in the same hole, year after year, and not truly want to find an answer. The spirit mind knows that the true answer – love – is outside the game. The name of that game is Chaos. What our true selves want is Peace."

I like the term Guru as it was originally meant in the Ashkaras, meaning 'darkness' and 'act of removal' respectively. Yet I think they were only ever intended as guides. They seem to have become beings who,s words one must unquestioningly follow.
I believe each is his or her own best guru, true wisdom comes from within.
Nice job, unusual philosophical prose.

Thank you Carol..., and, of course I agree with you totally...
