The Pride of Emptiness
This poem describes a current state humans are in. We have reached a point in our evolutionary cycle where we speak without listening to others. We may even talk when others are talking and miss the entire subject matter or the moral to a story. Being silent twice as much as we speak allows one to fully hear, fully understand, and intelligently respond.

POETRY AND PROSE
As a child, growing up, most of the poems I learned at school were of the traditional type. Memorizing and reciting them, which I enjoyed, were part of the learning exercise. Free verse, a modern form of poetry, was a new experience for me. Over the years, I jotted down some of my thoughts on things, especially, on Nature topics. I always considered such writings to be prose. It was only after I learned of free verse, that I saw that they could also be viewed as poetry with a slight variation in the line layout to create a sense of metre. I referred to such writing as poetic prose and labelled some of my earlier poems as such.

If only did I know...
In response to the challenge posed several weeks ago. This poem written by a modern Georgian poetess popped up in a recently published almanac. It was such a perfect fit to the challenge that I couldn’t resist temptation to translate it for this occasion. The lady poetess did what I was supposed to do – she did my thinking while I tried my best to translate her poem as close to the original as I could.
