TAKING CONTROL.
Being responsible for our lives
Whether solo, husband or wife
Attitude, during every day
Defines outcome, in different ways
Blaming others, for experiences met
Can form a pattern, pathway set
Open thoughts and open heart
Gives a journey, its place to start
Guidance,from childhood helps
Wise counseling, caringly dealt
Till maturity, control is taken
Balanced emotions, not forsaken
Listening to others, can be good
But not blindly, wearing a hood
Hiding positive-negative thoughts
Doubts fester, unhappiness bought
Accepting some, are not friends
Mixed messages, so easily send
Common-sense, obvious route
It's life, outcome must us suit
Trust those, who make us smile
Staying close, over difficult miles
Sharing, good and bad times
In life's storms or sunny fine

About this poem:
Some people do not have our best interest at heart.....

It took me some years to realise we are not responsible for other people’s happiness, or behaviour only our own.
We all make mistakes and hopefully learn from them, non are perfect and we won’t like everyone we meet, neither will everyone like or agree with us.
Attitude certainly can define outcome, how we live and feel and interact with others
