Its, very much alive and the most dominant party by leader and the two houses.
"Since the 1930s, the modern spectrum and the usage of left–right politics have differed from the rest of the world. For example, among the two major parties, American conservatism and the Republican Party support economic liberalism and classical liberalism's central principle of limited government, occupying the American political right. While the Democratic Party supports modern American liberalism and social liberalism, occupying the American political left.[5"
There's another way of looking at it. If the US is run by the leaders of other countries, let's say Mexico, would you think our country would be like it is now?
In my observation, generally all new immigrants on this country are very good and hardworking, but it's not the issue here. Of course there's big difference of spoiled affluent people born in here from those new immigrants but illegals are illegals, if our laws are violated then deal appropriately otherwise, if the answer is open all borders in the world, then maybe, that's the answer.
35 years ago when I first settled here from Hawaii, there was only English instructions on paper works and label for consumables. Now it's different. I'm surprised though, in San Francisco county, Chinese and Filipino are almost as majority as the Irish and Italian but only in Spanish and English.
My ex husband had a big business for so many years and we were inspected by the government at random to check violations on hiring illegal. Penalty was high if you were found in violation. I don't know if it's still the case. We sold our business in 2007.
GalwayGuy35 thanks for joining in. When I was in Switzerland and lived there people who were not with 10 generation record of living there can't buy any property. All the rich people from ME were buying real state left and right were sanctioned.
I remember Jurong bird park and the museum. I can compare it with Kuranda in Australia and the Honolulu zoo in Hawaii.
I only stayed there for a 5 days when I attended a seminar and not much time for personal tour. I do know people are so friendly, clean and very hospitable. Flying with Singapore Airlines is almost as great as Swiss air in service and cleanliness. I also went to the museum.
Reb thank you for joining. I think blaming is way past us, I'm only concerned on how to fix it. Or else why not reshape our laws.
My suggestion is to increase the numbers of staff handling legal migration.
Check the number of visa issued from countries that are most likely to come here and develop a strategy on determining who should be approved and not while all our borders secured.
Galrads, I understand your concern. The worse part is that our borders are not secured.
One of my friend in the political group suggested, we should create a big and deep river in our border, put all the Alligators and might be a better solution. Bush allocated billions of dollars to reinforce the tunnels against illegals but instead they made it completely user friendly with lights, water lines, etc., in which case might as well open the border.
This was a response of one of our US senators on my question regarding this problem.
Office of Sen. Al Franken April 23, 2015
Dear Phyllis,
Thank you for contacting me about immigration. I appreciate hearing from you.
I think we can all agree that the current immigration system is broken. As long as the system goes unfixed, Minnesota families, businesses, and communities will continue to suffer.
On November 20, the President announced a set of actions that federal agencies will take to address the immigration crisis. Undocumented immigrants who are parents of U.S. citizens or parents of lawful U.S. residents would be allowed to stay in the U.S. temporarily, provided that they register, pass a background check, and pay their fair share of taxes. The President's action also prioritizes border security and the deportation of dangerous criminals and threats to national security over others. The President's action would not grant permanent legal status to any undocumented immigrants, as the President cannot singlehandedly grant citizenship to new sets of individuals. That requires an act of Congress. These steps will help a lot of families while enhancing border security. But they are not a substitute for congressional action, and I remain committed to passing comprehensive immigration reform. I was proud to play an active role in helping to craft the comprehensive immigration reform legislation that the Senate passed with strong bipartisan support in June 2013. The Senate bill would greatly increase our investment in border security. It would help Minnesota farmers and business owners access the workforce they need. In addition, the bill includes strong protections for American workers. It would level the playing field for workers by curbing unfair competition from undocumented labor. And for the many people who now live in the shadows, the bill would open a pathway to legal status as accountable, taxpaying members of our communities.
Unfortunately, the House of Representatives never acted on the Senate bill. My hope is that the House's reaction to the President's executive action will be to pass comprehensive immigration legislation. I'll be pushing to make that happen because I believe that is the only way to get truly sustainable reform - reform that families, businesses, and communities across Minnesota need. I'll be sure to keep your thoughts in mind as I continue to push for immigration reform in Congress. Thank you again for contacting me. Please do not hesitate to do so in the future on this or any other matter of concern to you.
Lolette thanks for this new information. Yes sometimes street news are more credible than the big media.
Now what amazes me is why would key figure such as the Woodhouse ever talk about this, isn't it self defeating for the non Muslims? Now that they know what are possibility, I might sure it will up their reinforcement.
Hopefully like I said it's not the direction because if Hiroshima and Nagasaki are not enough lessons to show the massive destruction a bomb can do, then like we just have to face what's coming.
Very interesting and intriguing hot, boy now on the global warming, that should really be a good topic, don't you think? Didn't Al Gore make a lot of money on that?
