Thanks!

I do appreciate the effort of sending me letters. Thank you for those interesting information. You might be all real, but as the sentences were too similar, call me jaded, but I think all the emails came from one person. flirty

So no, I won’t replay any of those beautiful long and nice emails. I had good laugh from reading them, though. Sorry to disappoint you, but am enjoying my short break. So yes, am entitled for doing what I want to do ... which is doing nothing at the moment. laugh

So please bug another person except the lazy me giggle

Busy week

Have been busy at work last week that I don’t have much energy left this weekend. sigh

Hope I can survive next week too, as there are still some events to do, at least until Tuesday. Wish I could take leave after that. sad

Have to attend a colleague’s wedding party tonight. I didn’t feel up going, but I had to. rollers

Anyway, it was a great party. Met lots of colleagues and we had a blast ... wine Too bad it will be Monday tomorrow.giggle

Good Saturday

It has been quite long since Mom and I had the girls shop event together. So I was surprised when Mom agreed to go with me this noon. I was not feeling well actually, but wouldn’t say NO to shop, for sure. blushing

It was a pleasure to enter air conditioned store. Almost bought a tote bag, but I decided not to buy it at the end. It’s too heavy to my style. Mom bought couple things whilst I mostly bought office clothes. Yep, need to renew my wardrobe. flirty

Mom preferred having fried chicken when we went for supper. I was not too keen to eat fried chicken, so I bought soda. I knew it’s bad for my stomach as I am very sensitive for soda. Fortunately, my tummy was not too upset after 5 minutes. Might be the power of shopping. giggle

Had time to buy some monthly provisions at the supermarket too, so we were very loaded when we went home. hmmm

It has been a good Saturday for Mom and I. Hope we can do this everyday! laugh

Condolence

I was shocked to hear one of the managers’ spouse, Mrs. R, passed away yesterday late evening. She was only 44 years old with 2 young children. She was too young to die. Said that she got a heart attack. sigh

Went with couple colleagues to pay respect to the belated Mrs. R and her family this evening. It was really sad to see Mrs. R’s Mom who cried almost non stop. blues

The first child of Mrs. R looked tough but the second one looked sad. Poor little guy. Fortunately he had lots of his friends who supported him. Bless the kind hearts hug

Hope GOD will take care the belated Mrs. R and her family.

Scary lift

Work until late again today. I now sound like an old recorder. wow Eek, cross out the old ... please.giggle

Was too tired to have dinner earlier that I now have an empty stomach. sad

My office building is really back dated. And after 6pm, there is only one lift which runs. uh oh

I was the only person in the lift. It went down without any hitch at first, but it stopped on the 8th floor. I waited for over 10 minutes but it didn’t move. So I pressed the intercom. No response. uh oh

After pressing the intercom button for several times, I finally got the response. The operator said that the lift would move soon. uncertain

It did move, but after another 5 minutes. The lift went down and reached the ground floor. But again it stopped and the door didn’t open. mumbling

I waited another 10 minutes and pressed the intercom again. No response this time. Ewww. No connection on my mobile phone either. sigh

I started getting nervous until the building management staff opened the door from outside with a force. Thought I have to stay overnight in the lift!giggle

How to find the right owner?

Working until really late today. I was the last person except the security who left the office floor. Did remember that I had to get some cash to pay the taxi fare. yawn

Didn’t pay attention when I entered the bank hall as it was deserted. Then I saw the bundle of cash from the cash machine. shock Someone withdrew the cash from his/her account and forgot to take out the cash! uncertain

Who is the owner? How do I track him or her? Should I report to the bank? confused

Did have the similar situation months ago, but it happened in the mall area and the person hasn’t gone too far that I could call her to pick her cash. giggle

But now, I didn’t know the person before me. How if I gave the cash to the wrong person?uncertain

I decide to report this to the bank tomorrow and if no one claims the cash nor provide the right answer for the amount of the cash I found ... I will donate the cash to a non profit organization which educate the street children. Is it a wise decision? dunno

God morgen, Oslo!

The streets in downtown are mostly blocked due to the visit of the Prime Minister of South Africa. And it means we walk intead taking the coach today. I like this better, walking around. gotta go

We have a local guide for our orientation in Oslo. She is a charming lady but walks very fast. We all have to run after her so we are not left behind. giggle

I like Vistas of Akershus Castle, City Hall, National Theatre, Parliament, Royal Palace. But I don’t like much the Gustav Vigeland’s stark sculptures of people in Frogner Park. confused

We have free time that I spend to walk around downtown Oslo. It’s an interesting and a bit sad when I pass the church where people put flowers to remember who have died recently.

I am enjoying my walk that I almost miss the time to get into the bus.
roll eyes

Farvel Oslo!

I fall asleep in the bus during the journey to Telemark. I might be too tired. Hope am not drooling nor snoring. uh oh

Telemark area is located in southeastern Norway, extending from Hardangervidda to the Skagerrak coast. The coastline extends from Langesundsfjorden to Gjernestangen at the border to Aust-Agder. Telemark has a very broken and heterogeneous landscape, including many hills and valleys.

We arrive at Kongsberg in the afternoon. Kongsberg is a town and municipality in Buskerud county, Norway. It is located at the southern end of the traditional region of Numedal. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Kongsberg. Kongsberg is perhaps best known for being the home of Norway's major defense contractor, Kongsberg Gruppen, formerly Kongsberg Vaapenfabrikk. One of its products was the Kongsberg Colt.

I like my cute tiny room. Have time to walk around before and after dinner. Stop by at a supermarket to buy fruits. I love fresh cherry!

The included dinner is held in the hotel and the food is surprisingly good. It’s a seating arrangement, not a buffet. No wine, though. Our tour director advises not to buy alcohol whilst we are in Norway as it is very expensive.

Wake up at 1 am and try to get back to catch more zzzs. yawn

The breakfast is good, better than dinner. thumbs up

We have a 2 hours ferry drive. The ferry is huge, operated by Stena Line. The TD says we get lucky. Good for us!yay

Embedded image from another site

Also use the opportunity during the ferry trip, per TD's suggestion, to spend my DKK coins and change my DKK notes into SEK notes. Buy some chocolates and am patting my back for being a good person not buying that barley. (sulking after the tour finishes ... remembering the yummy barley)blushing

We have a quick tour in Gothenburg, which is the second largest city in Sweden. It is situated on Sweden's west coast at the outlet of the Göta river. Gothenburg has a reputation of being a friendly place, even more welcoming than the Swedish capital. It’s a busy city for sure.

We arrive in Oslo in the afternoon. We are lucky again to have a hotel located in downtown area. The hotel’s receptionist advises us to watch our belongings, though. He says that there are lots of crimes happen recently.uh oh

This is a new hotel, and I get lucky this time. My room is huge. I have a living room too! This is more like an apartment to me! Wish my own room like this at home. Have time before the optional dinner, so I walk to the pedestrian street which is behind the hotel. And there are lots of people around! I don’t feel any threats at all. dunno

Meet two of my travel mates at Hard Rock as they don’t join the optional dinner. Am almost tempted to buy the T-Shirt for my brother, but then, I can get cheaper in my home country. Find a good Norwegian t-shirt for him, though.

The optional dinner is out town, but in a beautiful area. The fjord view is awesome! We almost don’t want to return to our table due to better view outside! My fish (brown trout) is yummy and my wine is good too. Have a good conversation with my travel mates during the meal course. It seems they also have a good time too. Cheers to us! wine

Have a good sleep but not a good breakfast.sigh

Chat with a couple who are not in the tour and it is their first day in Copenhagen. So I write down couple of must to see in Copenhagen for them. Have to rush to the bus as we are leaving Copenhagen.

Farvel Copenhagen! I certainly miss this city.blues

The coach journey starts. It is raining too! Fortunately we are in the coach. We have 2 hours drive (yep, too long), crossing the new Storebaeltsforbindelsen bridge. The bridge connects to the island of Funen. The wind is so strong that it breaks the bus’ logo almost half way. There is also the rail path which goes above the sea level and then under the sea level. It reminds me my yesterday’s trip.hmmm

The TD puts an audio cassette for us to hear before we reach Odense. The first one is the princess and the beans. The second one is the king and his invisible clothes. Have read the stories almost hundred times but never get bored. wink

Odense is one of the oldest cities of Denmark and had its 1000th anniversary in 1988.

One of the historical landmark is Sankt Knuds Kirke (Saint Canute’s Cathedral). It was formerly connected with the great Benedictine monastery of the same name, and is one of the largest and finest buildings of its kind in Denmark. It is constructed of brick in a pure Gothic style. Originally dating from 1081–1093, it was rebuilt in the 13th century. Under the altar lies Knud (Canute), the patron saint of Denmark, who had planned to conquer England, then ruled by William of Normandy. Knud was slain in an insurrection at Odense in 1086. nerd

Odense is also the see of the bishop of Funen. The cathedral has the skeletons of both the Saint/King and his brother on public display. A large fragment of Byzantine cloth is displayed next to the two skeletons. The cathedral also boasts one of Denmark's finest altarpieces, a magnificent triptych by Claus Berg. Kings Hans (John) and Christian II are buried in the city.nerd

I do love Odense! It is a cute town where Hans Andersen was born. The town is small but have everything. I have a kebab for lunch as am too busy walking around to enjoy my short time here. Meet a cute tiny dog whose owner is busy with her lunch in a restaurant. Poor cutie!love

We arrive at Frederikshavn at late afternoon. It has been raining on/off. The dinner in the hotel is so so. I don’t like what they call lobster soup. It is not the real one. roll eyes

Frederikshavn was originally called Fladstrand (lit. "Flat beach"), until 1818 when it received status as a merchant town under the name of Frederikshavn, after King Frederik VI.nerd

Due to its advantageous proximity to the entrance to the Baltic Sea, Frederikshavn has historically been a naval base of some strategic importance. Peder Tordenskjold barricaded himself here in the fortress that German troops had already built in the 17th century.nerd

The only old military installations remaining to this day are the Gunpowder Tower (Krudttårnet), constructed in 1688, and the Northern Entrenchment (Nordre Skanse). The Gunpowder Tower has been preserved, and is incorporated in the municipality's coat-of-arms.nerd

Have a good walk around the town after dinner. There are many beautiful buildings in this town. The shops are similar to the ones in Stroget, so yes, I only window shop. Notice that some of my tour mates are serious shoppers. They hit shop after shop. Will their luggage be enough at the end of the tour?shock

The view from my hotel room is gorgeous. The carpet in the hall is a bit smelly, though. Never mind, it’s just for an overnight. very happy

God morgen, Copenhagen!

Wake up before the wake up call arranged by the tour director (TD). And I don’t even bring my watch. hmmm

After confirming with the TD that it is alright to skip the orientation with the group, I have my breakfast and then catch the train to Helsingor.

It is a quaint town with Kronborg Castle stands in the heart of town, within walking distance from train station. thumbs up There are many quaint stores in this town. All within walking distance of one another between Stjernegade and Stengade streets. laugh

The downtown area is very charming. I try “melt in your mouth” Lurpak butter from the grocery storedaydream

After lunch I buy ticket for trip back to Copenhagen via Malmo. It is a pleasant trip through the country side of Sweden. I go through Lund and then to Malmo where I change train to cross the Oresund bridge.

Crossing Oresund bridge is an excitement! The first section, the train goes above the sea level, and then it goes under the sea level. I can feel the pressure on my head grin

Meet some of my travel mates in the hotel and hear an interesting story. They say that the orientation tour is okay, a bit rush, though. Well, you should expect that if you are in a tour group. And, the group lose several persons when they don't return in the bus after the first stop. Maybe they do not pay attention with the TD's instructiondoh

I join the optional dinner which is held at Det Lille Apotek. It is located on Store Kannikestraede 15. The meal is a very tasty and old-fashioned at the same time. The interior creates a good mood and all enjoy the meal. My wine is good too. wine

After dinner, the TD takes us to Tivoli. Finally, am entering the park! The illumination is good. We walk around the park. It is so windy that I wish I had my hoodies with me. blues

I take tons of photos in Tivoli, but the results are not good. sad Remind me to bring my big camera in my next trip! It won't fit in my small suitcase, though giggle

God morgen, Copenhagen!

Wake up at dawn due to hail. Try to sleep again but wake up after hearing the noise from outside of my room. Someone tries to enter my room! uncertain

I dial the reception and inform about this. The receptionist says that there are 3 drunken guests who just check in. And their room is not near mine, at all sigh The hotel staff should accompany them to their room.scold

Anyway, I am safe and sound, so it is alright.very happy I check with the hotel staff that I can leave my luggage at the hotel, but the check out time is at 12pm. I have my breakfast, check emails then get my lugage down. I want to find out where I should take the bus to go to the other hotel, and I don't want to drag my luggage around.grin

I finally find the bus stop and have checked that there are at least 2 bus numbers which pass my next hotel. I return to the hotel to get my luggage.

I take bus no. 1A bus to Osterport. The bus fare is 24 DKK. Almost miss my stop point. Fortunately, I see the S signage which means a train station. I get off from the bus and across the street where the hotel is located.

I can't check in yet as am too early. But the hotel's staff offers me to leave my luggage in the hotel's storage. I leave my luggage at the hotel and caught the train to Roskilde, the original capital of Denmark.

I like Roskilde!. It has a pedestrian street running down the center of the city, with many shops, restaurants, and cafes. I walk around this beautiful town. I have a blast! giggle

I return by train to Copenhagen and my room is ready. Yay! I like my previous hotel's room, without the intruders, of course laugh

Meet other hotel guests when am checking email with hotel’s free computer. They will join another tour group starting tomorrow morning. It is their first day in Copenhagen and they just spend their time checking emails. confused

For I enjoy Copenhagen very much, I offer to take them to the Little Mermaid as it is not too far from our hotel. They are so happy and say yes so loud. Maybe they are afraid I will change my mind grin

It is raining when we walk to Little Mermaid. A nice walk though. I tried to be a good tour guide, but I have been here for 3 days only. hmmm

I dutifully take their photos with their own cameras so they can show off later to their colleagues. Then one the way back to the hotel, they realise that they need warmer jackets as they are not prepared with the weather. They should check the weather forecast before packing sigh

I take my little group to Stroget. I tell them that I will drop them there as I have to meet my tour director and tour mates at 6 pm in the hotel. grin

They are afraid to be left behind, though. laugh They buy their needed jackets as soon as they find a bargain in one of the stores. As we have still time, I take them to Nyhavn to take their photos there. very happy

We arrive back to the hotel and after saying good bye to my new friends, I rush to the meeting with my tour mates.

I am impressed with my Tour Director. She is a very helpful person. We have 48 people in our group, a big numbers. Hope all will work out well.wine

God morgen, Copenhagen!

Wake up with a slight headache.blues

After taking the healing shower, I decide to take a self walking tour today. Well, after breakfast, for sure. I walk around to take some photos. Then I take metro to Christiana. The fare is 24 DKK and it is only one stop.

Enjoying the town as it is really beautiful to walk around. I find the church of Our Savior, Vor Frelsers Kirke. Climbing the tower too (Yep, I did!). The ticket is 30 DKK. The view from the top is breathtaking.

Visit the hippies community, afterwards. It is a strange community to me. Well, the people who live there are kind of artistic. Don't like the smell in some houses, though. roll eyes

Take a metro back to Kongens Nytorv, and decide to take the one hour boat trip from Nyhavn. I choose Netto Banne, which cost me only 40 DKK. It is relaxing after walking so long. Find a good sandwich store too. I have a salmon sandwich (yay for salmon!). thumbs up

I walk to Stroget, the shopping area. It is similar to Pasar Baru ... well almost. I decide to get lost in Stroget. Taking alley after alley and enjoy the buildings and people watch. I pass the Carlsberg brewery museum and then Tivoli. grin

After a bit rest and try to figure a way back, I find a stall which sell fruits. I buy the fresh cherry. It is really good! thumbs up Don’t mind walking and eating cherry. Hey, I can multi task!laugh

Decide to walk to Little Mermaid. It is certainly far, but I have many beautiful buildings to see on the way. The Russian Orthodox church is interesting too. hmmm

My first impression after seeing the infamous Little Mermaid, yes, she is small. Can’t understand why lots of tourists like me want to have their photos taken there. Well, maybe to show their friends that they have been here, in the beauty city of Copenhagen idea

It is my last night staying in my current hotel. Tomorrow I will check out to move to another hotel to join a tour. A bit sad, but it is time to move on. lips
