liar

Can you imagine the U.S. AG lying on his confirmation hearing ? Just carrying out policy , I would guess.

Honor

It isn't often I would laud a Republican Politian , but there is one who deserves all the admiration and respect I can muster, that person is Senator John McClain. Considering his military service and the suffering dealt him, as a Veteran, I salute him , and anyone who would make light of his service to this nation , is as low as a snake's belly and as putrid as a skunk. Recently, Senator McLain made a statement that all Americans , and in particular
the Republican members of the U.S. Legislature must heed, our Nation depends on it , the Democrats are already there. His statement is so prolific and not to be ignored , his statement was as this, "The first thing a dictator does is to eliminate the press". Does this ring a bell with you? A new order by the White House is
that only certain members of the press will be allowed to attend its briefings. I am sure Russia's Putin has the same policy. Although it is against the rules, the President has some of his henchmen , including a couple of legislators who are seated on an oversight committee , call various reporters to have them publish disclaimers about certain policies that the FBI and others find illegal. Wake up , America, we're headed down the drain.

communication

I find it odd that during the campaigns , Trump was so bombastic voice wise, now he whines , he mumbles, and he sounds like "wont you pity me because the news and Democrats are taking advantage of poor little me".

U.S. Senate

The actions of the U.S. Senate are disgusting - well - let's say the actions of the Speaker are, and have been ever since the hill billy from Kentuckey was voted in. He has refused to allow Senator Warren to reread a letter from the widow of Martin L.King which was introduced a number of years ago when Senator S. Thurmond was the Speaker. He , Thurmond, refused to enter the letter into the records of the Senate which was against the rules of the Senate. Why? Because he was a radical racist from the South. Now it is the second go-'round, with Mortimor Snerd holding the reins , and for the same reason, he is a radical racist. He stated the reason Warren
was removed was because rules of the Senate state that no member may make disparaging remarks against any member of the Senate which is the, Senator, President Grump ( sorry , my spelling) wants to be the AG, a man who has been a racist all his life. Senator Sessions was guilty of offences against black voters as well as allowing beatings of people wanting to vote. Hey - I am a white person, and there is a law allowing people to vote and right is right. Sessions has no qualifications to be the AG, but the Speaker is a Trump "brown noser" (GI term) so he skirts the rules. Back recently a Senator from Texas made degrading remarks about another Senator
but Speaker McDonald ignored the remarks because the perpetrator is a member of the political party as is the Speaker. The premise of the Republicans in the Senate is, "It's our way or no way". I don't believe that was the idea of the founding fathers of our constitution. studecar professor frustrated very mad

Trump lies again

Trump bragged that the gathering in Washington D.C. for his inauguration was the largest in history, 2 photos taken from the top of the Washington monument shows less people there than a picture taken when Obama was
elected. I'm sure Trump will say the picture was rigged. studecar professor

adjust government spending

I have posted articles concerned with government spending and have received acceptance from a number who have read them, I have not posted on CS blog so I am going to give it a try here.
My proposal is cut the base salary of all elected and appointed federal officials by 20%. There are approximately 600 elected legislators whose base salary is $174,000 each year, now doing a little math I find multiplying $174,000 X 600 (mind you that number is a guestimate) equals $88,200,000 , if we multiply that amount by 20% we find it is $17,640,000. Quite a savings I would say. Now think of the other elected, and appointed people that would be affected, for instance the President and VP, judges (Oh boy , just think of the huge number in that category) , there are a number of ambassadors , I could go on but I need to get some sleep tonight. Back to the 600 + legislators, do you realize we are paying them to become millionaires? On top of that, they do little to earn half that amount of money. They do figure out ways to cut the cost of government , such as cutting the cost of food for the poorest in the nation, or medicine for the elderly, or for schools , and for many other programs, but not one thought to reducing the cost of the elected who are on the gravy train. $174,000, that blows my mind ,when I think of my salary as a teacher ! The above is something to ponder on, and I welcome any response from any of you. studicar professor frustrated P.S. The legislature would have to do the adjusting so don't hold your breath, you might think about who you are going to elect in November!

conventions

I didn't plan on watching the Republican Convention and probably wont watch the Democratic Convention, I know who I will not be voting for, and I know who I will be voting for. The last night of the Republican affair, I figured I could watch something on the TV that would be entertaining, so I turn the TV on , I am surprised at the number of channels carrying the convention, switching channels I saw Trump for about 5 or 6 seconds hearing him rant and rave and yell - his demeanor reminded me of Hitler's demeanor, and probably I have the same regard for both. After a while I got to thinking what is our country going to end up being, then I started thinking about Presidents we have had.
My highest regard goes to President Roosevelt with all of the problems the U.S. had at that time. Next, I favor Lyndon Johnson. I have visited his grave , out of respect.
I know he was a little ragged around the edges, but he was a good and sincere man, he helped many many extremely poor people, people that other Presidents ignored. He was criticized for wasting our tax money in his concern for the poor. The criticism didn't bother him and he had the answer for the objectors, "If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen". A very profound statement and more should heed his words, which includes some bloggers.

Poem DILEMMA

I know a guy who's a nervous wreck,
'cause of a terribly sore stiff neck.
He can't figure how it could be,
He's had no disease - or injury.

The doctor can't find a reason for this,
Unless the guy gave it a real hard twist.
Maybe at night he slept in a careen,
Possibly having a real bad dream.

Now - I am no medic -
Maybe just an old hick -
But I know something 'bout this stuff -
He's not swallowing Viagra - FAST ENOUGH !

Patirotic

I have always been very patriotic and I always fly my flag on days dedicated to patriotism. I love the Star Spangled Banner, and I cannot count the times I have sung it, I have played it , or the number of times I have conducted it ( I am a retired Band Director). A few days ago I came apart, I heard a female MURDER my favorite national anthem. In her vocal interpretation, in which she warbled around what was supposed the melody, was thoroughly disgusting, to me it was vocal graffiti on a public and government entity. If I was to spray graffiti on the White House or the National Capital Building ,I would be arrested for defacing the property. I have heard others do the same at ball games and I think there should be a law against the degradation of the anthem. I know there will never be a law to contain that sort of treatment, after all , look at what the Republican Supreme Court stated about it being alright to burn the flag of the United States. 2nd birthday

I am 91 years old, how can I have a 2nd birthday? Today is my 38th birthday ! Here is how it happened, 38 years ago today, July 3, 1978, I received a triple bypass, it saved my life. Now
I am the longest living human with a triple, proud to say that. I wont go in to another aspect preceding the operation, but, a real Angel came to me to help me through the process. I might not say an Angel helped me, but I had a witness to the fact. I am not like some , like a past President, who clamed God told him to be President , no witness to that event, could he have been patronizing the Evangelical crowd seeking votes?
Should any of you know of a person with a longer history of a bypass than mine, I will retract my claim, medical authorities cannot find another person. studecar (Larry) yay :applause
PS: pardon me for being so egatistical
