I forgot where it was ..but a couple of years ago..I think it was at a Cemetery..Anyway The small American Flags that put down next to the Markers one day ,were found to be gone the next/Someone complained and the Cops were Notified to keep an eye out for the Vandals..Well ,they put New flags down once again and the cops kept driving by and at one point were parled there most of the night/And when Daylight broke.The Flags were gone once more/The cops even said it was impossible because they were there and saw nothing/Thats all/Now the town is in an uproar over who are these cruel kids doing this to Veterans who are gone now?//Somebody finally had enough and Installed a Camera in the tree nearby...."We will prosecute them to the full extent of the law!"(said the cops!)..And in the morning all that was there was the sticks that the Flags were on/They went right to the Camera and looked at the footage to see who it was/And yep/They caught him,they got him red handed now!/All this time what was taking the flags was good ole Mr Woodchuck who lived nearby/They put a Camera down the hole he came out of and there was all the flags he was using for a nest.....Did they prosecute Mr Woodchuck?(Theyre still not sure how)(he wasnt evicted either)

While driving back homw after going to do what I have to do at the stores(And I hate it) There he was face up in the street and dead...Poor squirrel never learned nothing.......Why do I say he never learned nothing?...Because about another mile up the road.....There were 2 Poles on each side of the road with a telephone wire joining them both....And right there in the middle doing a high wire act was another Squirrel crossing to the other side with a walnut I guess in his mouth.....He couldve tried making it across the street...But instead he climb up the pole and crossed up there knowing he would be safe...........It just goes to show there are "Dumb and Smart" in all species....
I am your Mirror.I see things all the time.I see you when you 1st get up in your morning(And I must tell you its enough to scare the hell out of me)Sometimes in your morning you donrt look at all at 1st(you make all kinds of noises too).Then I watch you undress and turn on the shower,,,Then you get in(Thats the best part of being your Mirror.But it doesnt last very long as you end up fogging me up and I cant see you anymore))But I can still hear you though.Then after a while you are looking at me near the door where you are about to leave(You look at yourself from head to toe being sure everything is just right.Now your adjusting your hair and getting real close and looking at yourself up close and personal(Why are you making those funny faces?).Then you leave and you unlock the car abd get in..And whats the 1st thing you do?.You grab me again and make me face you there in the drivers seat as you once again look at me using some kind of little brush(Are you a painter?).Okay youre done now.You adjust me again from the drivers seat this time(I guess so you can see in back).Finally!She starts the car and drives away.Okay.Shes done touching me now.Now shes your problem .mr Side View Mirror.
Unless you lost someone through Death..You cant be saying that you were in love before.Well.in one sense Id guess you are right.You were in love with He or She.but guess what?.They werent in love with you were they? NO they werent .Otherwise youd still be together and "They" wouldnt have let you go.So it comes down to .you were in love and "They" werent.So the next time you go to say those words.say it this way."I was in love but He or She wasnt".Or.Simply."I thought we were in Love".A true Love begins at the beginning and stays till the End.And maybe you had differences?.If I was in "Love".Those differences would not make a difference to me.But then again.We have to live with someone to know who we are really with.Some of us are made to be with the right one from the very start to the end.Some of us just havnt collided yet with our one to be.And some of us are made(Whether we likwe it or not)to never meet anyone.The only thing that I can say is."Be who you are".."For thats all youll ever be"."And love thy neighbor as yourself"."And hope they do the same for you".So.Be sure .that your next "House"(Next love)...Has a solid foundation 1st.Before you start to build upon it.That way it wont be flimsy and come crashing on down all over upon you once again.(Then again ..some refuse to rebuild ever again and stay outside in the elements of "Sorrow and "Despair".But Then Again.(What do I Know?)
Yup.Its saturday once again.and as Ive dont the last 3 weekendsIts time for just me .and whatever ids Natural out there.I have plenty of worms.Its all in the back of the truck as Im driving to the Ten Mile River.Should be there in a minute.Okay Im here now.Ive locked the truck got all that I need and its down the Autumn colored path once again.Im here at the River .Putting the stuff down I glance around my surroundings.Always ggod to know.Thats right ..gotta get some wood for a Fire.(Time going by).Just started a fire and Im baiting up the hook.And as a Batter would do.I lean back.give a heave.and there goes the line.I wait.and listen.and."A Distant Splash".Sit back next this tree.take out ole Mary.The Ice Coffee is here too.And now?.Sit back and listen to what Nature does best.(Im really here doing this on a Phone).(This stuff is good.It Creeps).
Go ahead .sit there as the Spider does and wait.wait .and wait.youve got the time.Sooner or later they will make a mistake and give you the opportunity to pounce.and then you can say.."Gotcha!"."How does it feel?!".All that did was alienate it more(Maybe that was your intention).You can stay protected behind those Castle Walls youve erected.And if they get beyond the Moat which surrounds those Castle Walls.and they knock upon your door.You can Pretend youre not there.And then when they are leaving and youre spying from the top in your Spy Tower.and then they are out of site.its then that you wished that you wouldve answered the door..(But you didnt did you?).And now theyre gone .and I dont think theyre coming back for 2nds.We all want to be part of the conversation.But thats not that easy as some that are conversing with that person there have made it clear that they dont like you.(So.you dont bother to even get involved(For when you did that before the ones that didnt like you went silent).(And that wasnt a very nice feeling.was it?.But every once in a while you do come out from behind those Castle Walls.But you didnt think about those Snakes who are lying in wait in the High Grass.and Bang!.They got you!!!.And you ran back to your Castle of Protection...(Where you remain up until today).But take some comfort that out there in the far distance where you cannot see.There are others just as you.Behind their Castle Walls.

I drove to the back of where Narragansett Race Track used to be...Parked the truck..Locked it ..and took a walk off into the woods......Down an embankment ..across the railroad tracks...up another embankment and down the path of Autumn colors to the end where the Theres an old dirt road thats never used anymore............Upon being on the old dirt road..you can see that the seasons are changing......The trees on the other side of the river are the colors of short days to come and long cold nights.........There are a few Swans left here(Still raising Junior who just about their size now)soon they will chase Junior off and he will be on his own...........The algae on the water that was so thick before has becaome a thin sliver on the surface...occassionally set down on by the very few Insects that have made through the cold nights that are now settling down here in New England.....I look up and theres an old used Weaver Birds nest(only months ago there were little peeping babies in there Peepin away with their mouths wide open all the time).. but theres no onwe in there now..Empty and no noise................AS I go further..I come to where I used to play with my younger brother..at the little bridge...(Geeez!...That was 50 years ago?!!!)..........Oh And how Can I forget the Dogs I had that ran like hell around here?...There was Sadie(14 years) and Allie...my last dog(17 and a half years)....I can stare and imagine I see them again..Runnning like hell after some squirrel or water rat....Those were the days...But their gone now...Only I am left here with the thoughts that keeps them alive.......Awright ..best be gettin back it gets dark a lot earlier than it did in Summmer......Ive finally reached the truck...and just as Im to get in...I turn once more and scan the area and think for a few minutes more....Its nice to have Memories........And unfortunately...its back to reality..
