A Young Father And Mother Decided That This Year They Would Cut Down Their Own Christmas Tree..Seeing The Weather Was Warm Out..They Thought Theyd Have a Picnic Too
So They Brought Their Two Children With Them
A Boy 9..And A Girl 7
When They Got To Where All The Trees Were...They Looked At All The Little Green Trees
And Then They Came To A Small Tree..About 4 Feet High
And The Father Said.."This Is The One We Will Cut Down"
So While The Mother Was Busy Getting Out The Food...........
The Father Went To Retreive His Chain Saw
While He Was Doing That..The Little Kids Played Near The Tree
Suddenly..The Little Boy Thought He Heard The Sound Of Crying
And His Sister Could Hear It Too
Where Was That Sound Coming From?..They Said To Each other
Finally... They Realized That It Was Coming From The Tree They Were going To Cut Down...The Little Tree Was Crying!!!
The Little Boy Asked.."Are You Really Crying?".."And Why Are You Crying?"
The Little Tree Responded By Saying This To The Children
"Your Daddy is Going To Cut Me Down".."And Then I Will Die"
"I Wont Ever Have The Chance To Become A Grownup As You Kids Will"
"And Why Must I Die?"
"I Must Die So People Can Stand Me Up In Their Living Rooms"
"So People Can Hang Colored Bulbs On Me"
"So People Can Hang Different Colored Ornaments On Me"
"Then String Lights All Over me"
"Then Throw Tinsel To Make Me Look Pretty For Their Eyes"
"And Then.. At The End Of The Christmas Season.. Ill be Thrown Out On Ther Sidewalk"..."Like I Was Never Worth Anything"
Now The Little Tree Was Really Crying
And Here Comes The Father With His Chainsaw
At This Point..The Little Boy And Girl Were Both Crying Also
The Father Arrived And The Little Boy Ran up To Him And Yelled
"No!!!...Dont Kill That Little Tree Daddy!"
"Hes Just Little Like Me".."And He Wants To Live To Grow up Like I Will Someday Daddy!"
So After Realizing That His Children Would be Heartbroken If He Cut The Little Tree Down...The Father Decided He Would Leave The Little Tree Alone
Not Only That..But He Also Decided To Go To The Store And Buy An Artificial Tree..That Way..Each Year... They Could Use The Very Same Tree..And All Those Little Trees Would be Able To Live and Grow up To Be Big Trees Someday
At That..They Decide To Have Their Picnic Next To The Little Tree
No One Could see..But While They Were All Sitting There And Eating..........There Was A Little Tree That Was Very Happy
And If One Looked Close Enough
You Would See... The Little Tree............... Smiling
