Since writing about "Linda"...I have been to see her every day for its getting very near the end....She has shriveled down to nothing...Skin amd Bones...She doesnt open her eyes anymore...Her voice is a very high pitch ...And what she says cannot be understood ....Her Kidneys have shut down now amd they cant try to give her Liquids as she would drown..They say.......She would drown??!!!....For Christ Sakes!! That would be better to do that than for her to Suffer a slow agonizing death from starvation and Cancer!!!.....ITs Scary to look at someone whos cryibg out from deep inside themselves and they are not responding to what you say anymore.....Its sad that this is how we treat are fellow Human beings....Let them slowly die an agonizing Death While those who come who care the most are Horrified as to what they are seeing and Have to go Through....)We as Humans would not let an Animal suffer this way....Imagine your Dog or Cat is suffering..And you go and visit Him everyday and see the pain and him looking at you....Of course that will never be that way(You wouldnt stand for it would you?..Humanity wouldnt Stand for it.."Its the Humane thing to do".....But its not when it comes to Humans ..is it?..........To watch someone slowly die from Starvation ,,No Liquids and a slow killing desease that is Cancer....Goes against life itself.........According to the Nurse..She has 2 days to 2 weeks to live(If you want to call it that)......I get to go and watch what another day closer to dying looks like today......And yes...I do wish that she would just die....For all concerned..especially for her..............I dont want your Pity..Thats not what this is about....Its about Linda and all the Other Lindas out there.......Im positive if it was up to linda she would wanted to "Go" already....."Its not fair..Its not right"...Its a torture thats instilled on "Our Loved Ones" by Others...(Whoever they are)....And we allow them to do this.....And its awfully hard not to break down being a Man in front of other people........And the worst part for those who remain behind?...Were left with all these wonderful vivid memories of watching someone die ever so slowly every damned day til finally "They Are Taken".........This is the 1st time Ive gone through this....And it surely will be the Last........Youll never know the Horrors Ive been through till youve been through it yourself.....People in this condition should be allowed to go of their choosing....We wouldnt do this to an Animal......So tell me...."Whats is wrong here?"...............God?...Will you Please take her now?.................Please?..............
What if...That has always been the question..Now hasnt it?..."What if I had done this or that differently?"...."I wonder how it would be now?".."What if I didnt say that?"....But lets take it to another Level..Shall we?........"What if your Dog was 6 Feet Tall and you were only 2 feet Tall?"...(It would most likely be a little tough for you to be "The Master"..NOw wouldnt it?...And dont forget the Pooper Bags youd have to bring along when you took "Behemoth",,for a walk!(Dont forget the Shovel)..........One even better way would be ..."What if you made out all your Monthly bills and you sent them out to the Electric Co..Gas Co....Phone Co....Car Payment...and the best part?"......"The Bas----s would have to pay you!"..("And they better get the payment to you in a Timely fashion or you would add a "Late Charge"!.....Now..Thats a nice Thought ..Aint it?....................What if..."You didnt have to go to the Bakery to get those melt in your Mouth "Blueberry Cupcakes?"...."And the Bakery had to come to You?"..........."Did I say Cupcakes?".......(Here they come now!!!
...............And Lastly......"What if All of us here".."Even the Ones we dont like".."Could actually meet each other at a Gathering?"...."You know what?"...."Id say that all of us would end up liking each other".....(Thats one "Gathering" Where nothing could hold me back from Attending...Nothing)..................So there you go.....Those are my "What Ifs" (You got any?).......................

You think its bad being a Tree?..."You outta be a Bush".....Every couple of weeks at the most someone comes and gives us a haircut and shapes us into all of these awful looking shapes...("I dont want to look like that!")...."Who want s to look like a Square..a Rectangle..A Ball.....A Pyramid....And all those other silly shapes you Humans make us into,,,NO!!..."We want to look like a bush!!"......4)..And my name is "Weeds"....I grow everywhere and theres no place i cant get a foothold on...."All Im trying to do is survive...Im not bothering anyone anywhere"....But alas...."Im at the bottom of the Totem Pole"....And Im hated the worst...I get pulled..Burned..Cut..And trampled on with no respect what so ever"...No!.."You Humans are now on notice!"...."Were not going to take it...Anymore!"............

And the Tree said to the Man with the Axe..."Why do you want to cut me down?"...."For the last 100 years Ive watched you sitting under me as I protected you from the Sun...."Ive watched you run under my branches when it rained real hard"..."And all of my dried up branches that fell to the ground were fuel for your Fireplace that kept you warm at Night"...."And when you were little dont you remember that swing that was tied to me and your Father would push you ever so higher?"...."And what about all those days that you and your little kid friends would climb all over me?"..."You kids really had a lot of fun..Remember?"................The Man stood there with his axe......Thought about it....and walked away from the Tree.......(No Way Was He Going to Destroy Memories)............
This more of advice than anything alse...Im not writing this for attention or anything else..just dont want anyone to make this mistake as Linda did..........A while back I did a story on "Get a Second Opinion,Linda didnt".......The reason why I write this is a lot of people will go to a Doctor for a possible Cancer Screening (Nobody wants to even have to get to that point to have to do that)But it has to be done......If your lucky the Doctor tells you..."Your test came back Negative".."You are Cancer Free".....Please go and get a Second opinion......The only time people will want to get a second opinion is when theyre told they have Cancer(In most cases)....Even if you are told you dont have Cancer..Get that second opinion....It could Possibly save your Life......It took a Year for the cancer that she had in the first place to re emerge (And then it was too late)The Doctor sais that if it was correctly detected the 1st time ..It possibly couldve been eradicated then or at the least added 10-15 years more to her life....To think if she did that...This aint happening.........Because of no 2nd opinion...Linda is lying in a Hospice now....Shes shrunk down to where her head seems to be too big for her frame....65 Pounds...No strength to even move anymore....Her hair is an inch long at best.....It takes all I have not to break down as I sit there holding her hand as her eyes are fixed on an object on the wall and they dont move at all.......LInda called me her big Brother as she was adopted so I have to be there for my little "Sister" at the end.....Isnt this just wonderful with Christmas right around the corner!!?.....Have to go see her everyday now til the end comes...And soon enough...She will be gone forever......(Merry Christmas Nam)........Get a Second or Third opinion!!!!!!!!!!!......Poor Linda didnt.......
When I was real little we would go on a trip and there I would be in the back seat looking out the window....What I remember seeing the most in my mind was a series of signs..usually about 50 feet apart..each with a 1 liner on it...All I remember still is the last one..."Burma Shave"................
Heh..I dont want to fight..If I did Id want to know what Im going to be fighting about ahead of time....At that point is when I would decide if I was going to fight...."All I really want to do"....."Is just be friends with you"...........(You live your life the way you want to...And I live mine my way)...........We could live next door to each other and greetings were exchanged...(That really would be a good feeling for both of us ..wouldnt you say?)........We could throw away the Past and bury it all away in the "Dungeons of History"..Perhaps even get together once in a while and share a few words over a drink or two and learn so much more about each other(But that seems to be a "Bright Spot in the Night Time")................"Love thy neighbor as yourself"..."And hope he does the same for you"..............(Fat Chance).....................
The Two lane road your on has "Road construction" up ahead...There has to be at least 50 cars in front of me...All I can see is brake lights all the way up ahead.....5 minutes go by....10 minutes go by..(People are starting to blow their horns now..Everybody is joining in)..But mr "Im in charge Policeman" keeps letting the opposite coming traffic through...15 minutes now..(What ta hell! "Gas aint cheap you know!")....Finally he stops the other traffic and motions for my side to go..(Hurray!)....It takes a couple of minutes more before I can move...Finally Im moving!....Im getting closer to where the blockage is ..Theres only a few cars in front of me as we crawl along.....But wait!...No you better not!...And wouldnt you know it!...That rotten so and so lets the car in front of me go and puts up his hand for me to stop!..(Here we go again)......There Outta be a Law!!
Geeeeez!..When you ask them aquestion about what theyre talking about and it doesnt fit their format..They erase you(Oh they have the right to do that)...But when the questions are going to show they are talking through their Hat?..Yup..you guessed it...EIther you get ersed or they go to no comments...Seems to me and Id think to you too is if they had anything to stand their ground with,,they would stay....But the difference between some of us is...Some of us talk when we dont know what ta hell were talking about.....And others?...They dont talk unless they know what they are talkin about.........So..When it hits the fan....Its the "Magical" act of disappearing............
