And that’s the point and problem for republicans. Can hardline capitalism and trickle-down economics work when your supporters are commoners? You have diminishing numbers of elite and sub-elite within the Republican movement can it afford to ignore what happens to the bottom two thirds of America? There’s a tension between the textbook economic elitism of republicans and the fact that it is increasingly proletariat.

Republican support is increasingly working class and the main benefactor of today’s economy in America are Democrats. It’s mostly democrats getting pay rises and promotions since Trump took office.
So answer YES. Supply side economy is reason "commoners" getting raises and promotion. So it work to get you vote!

Originally the welfare state was supported from the view that it helps people get married and establish the nuclear family. Returning to a time before capitalism was worshipped as a religion and conservatism meant something different to classic liberalism. I don’t care what people say they are we know people are not that hands off in the lower orders of society.

Highest welfare peoples have most broken family. 42% black peoples in America on welfare and 75% black child born with no father no marriage.
Historically, middle income folks vote 'Crat if they perceive themselves slipping to lower middle income or lower.
If they perceive themselves securely in the middle income bracket or upwardly mobile, they vote 'Publican.
If the economy continues as it's going now, it should bode well for The Don.
