Yard Sale...
I did a yard sale this past weekend and unloaded chairs, sofa, tables, desk, a few appliances like blenders and juicers. The one item I was unsure of was a box of crochet items my mother made. I didn't want it to go to anyone. One woman had great interest in the contents of the box. She pulled up a chair and inspected every piece of the more than 60 year old items. Mostly wrapped in plastic, some had darkened edges and mineral stains. She knew the pillow case and bed spread cover from the rectangular covering for tables.While we where a few dollars apart from a price agreement, my wife was in the kitchen pulling out things from the pantry and at the bottom where there were miscellaneous stacks of table cloths... was a porcelain wall hanging of the last supper. She handed it to my ex-wife who came by to help... my ex-walked up to the woman sorting through the crochet, showed it to her. The woman's face lit up and she held it to her chest. "I have to have it" she said. The deal was struck.
She paid me and I moved all the things she bought to the side waiting for her husband to pick them up!
