So what's the problem with immigration?

If someone wants to come and live in your country, shouldn't you be flattered, and thank them for the compliment

If you were to ask me as a capitalist I would say that the country doesn't need more poor people.

@OP well clearly one of the problems with immigration is when the tide turns and it is negative. Locked borders and exiting students, rejected Pacific Islander seasonal workers = rotting fruit in a peak harvest season. Australian immigration/refugee policy, has been reprehensible, nothing to be proud of in the least. I won't argue it either way, but one of the Australian by-words has always been 'a fair-go' and it has not been seen here for at least 20 years.

As a socialist I would say global mass immigration is taking "on your bike" to extremes. To dispose of one man and simply replace him with any other man like you were changing currency. How could we ever know what sustainable is when everyone and everything is disposable? Problem for immigration is although we can move from poor country to rich country we can't all move to a new world once the old world has been consumed into a dust bowl
