Rishi Sunak is a British politician
who served as Chancellor of the Exchequer from 2020 to 2022,
having previously been the Chief Secretary to the Treasury from 2019 to 2020.
A member of the Conservative Party, he has been the Member of Parliament for Richmond since 2015.

Yes Teen and he resigned due to disagreement with Boris Johnson. This started a rebellion against the prime minister, which resulted in him resigning and the post of PM to be decided by MP and party vote. Two candidates remain after preliminary votes. Sunak and Truss. The outcome will be decided beginning of September. Until then Johnson remains leader.

... and is Rishi Sunak either revered or respected in England? I think not, nor is his opponent who likens herself to and emulates Margaret Thatcher it would appear. As with American elections, a bitter and futile choice. Who will be the best of a bad lot then?

Yep. Neither are really people you want as leader. But the opposition party is just as bad. There is a definite lack of the right character and policies. But many countries are as bad.

Don’t know much about Truss but, do you really want a Prime Minister whose wife evaded paying her taxes and still seems to be getting away with it? He’s as dishonest as Boris Johnson in my opinion and the opposition aren’t much better.

I agree with you. Neither are ideal, but one of them will win. The people have no choice. It would appear that Truss has the most support from the conservative membership.
