Give peace a chance

Slowly but surely more and more people are waking up to the truth.thumbs up
Viktor Yanukovych was the pro-russia president of Ukraine who was removed from office in 2014.
He and the then Prime Minister are in exile in Russia under the protection of Putin.

The people in the video are complaining about that and are against the war, but if Viktor Yanukovych was left in control would he not have facilitated the take over of Ukraine by Russia?

I'm not saying that Ukraine should join the west but joining Russia under Putin? How could anybody agree to that. The bloodshed would be worse than the war.

An independent Ukraine with ties to a semi-democratic Russia with a properly elected and functioning government, yes, but that's not possible under a Russian Dictator.
I mean simply that it would have been a much better idea to pursue good relations with Russia. Interfering in and destabilising Ukraine was the exact opposite of that. Add to that years of making Russia the boogeyman and scapegoat for everything, from Brexit to the 2016 U.S. election, and it's really little surprise that we've arrived at the point we have. And that's not to say Russia is perfect. Far from it. But guess what? Many Western powers are far from perfect too and have more than played their part in this perpetual destabilisation.

And geopolitical simply means geopolitical. It's international politics as opposed to domestic politics. And the geopolitics of the last 8 months has seen Russia and China working much more closely together, and other powers such as India, Saudi Arabia and Brazil are likewise making changes and forging new alliances and moving away from the U.S. led so-called 'rules based order'. The world certainly is a' changing.
@Merlot. Being so read up on Putin, can you present us with 2 or 3 really bad lies he made.
Some heavy ones that had real bad impact in more than just a handfull of people.
Like the US lie there was a reason to take out Gadaffi when his best friend was Nelson Mandela.
Something of that magnitude.
We need to find out how bad this monster really is don't we,
so educate us please if you have a moment.
I'm not looking for answers thanks, I thought maybe you were overlooking some information but you seem to be ok on that score. beer
You could have added the question as to who broke BOTH of the Minsk Agreements but I really doubt if 'anyone' has ever thought that that was one of the reasons that caused the Feb 24th invasion. Not even thinking about the ethnic cleansing that was going on against the Russian population living in Ukraine since 2014 right up to February 2022.
People tend to lap up everything the msm feed them.
Sad bunch.

cheers
A well written level-headed intelligent comment.thumbs up
Ok here's my prediction.
Putin will give peace a chance.
After he finishes destroying the country.
Then he will pull out, no need for peace talks.
Love your hat Merlot.

Putin can't pull out without taking or atleast forever protect south east.
Be aware of that. Will he leave Odessa to the Ukranians, we'll see.
