As I understand it, it was the Republican party who, on OLC counsel, introduced the rule that a vote of the whole House of Representatives was necessary before opening an impeachment enquiry in a bid to protect Donald Trump. Now they've instituted that rule they surely need to apply it in this case, too.
There are accusations that this is a political move to muddy the waters of the democrats' election campaign whether the prosecutors can find anythng to prosecute, or not, but perhaps more pertinently, there are suggestions that Kevin McCarthy has unilaterally and prematurely opened this impeachment enquiry due to intense pressure including threats to oust him from his job.
So, has McCarthy moved too fast, too soon and is this risky political move going to backfire? If there is corruption, the this could be a wasted opportunity for creating change.
For those who bleat on about the indictments against Trump et al taking so long, here's your answer: having the patience to build an astute and evidenced case is an ethical obligation as well as an effective means of challenge.

Inevitaby there will be both nefarious actions and frivolous accusations of politically motivated play, such is human nature. To bring a weak, chaotic case is utterly foolishly leaving yourself wide open to those very challenges.
The reason why accusations about Trump's legal charges being politically motivated are falling flat is because those indictments have been structured so well. All the frivolous counter-suing by the Republican defendents is getting them nowhere. It's like watching a frustrated two year old trying to beat down a calm parent.

It's really not complicated. Hunter was the bag-man. Joe was the product (his political influence). Shady figures abroad - such as Zlochevsky(Burisma) knew that the Bidens were for sale. If they needed a problem fixed they'd come to Hunter and arrange payment, Hunter would go to Joe who would then exert his considerable political influence to get the desired outcome. It's probably just easier if you think of it in mafia terms. Joe was the Don, Hunter was a Capo. The Bidens took in tens of millions of dollars in total. And it wasn't just from Ukraine. It was China, Russia, Romania, Kazakhstan...

Oh and this all relates to Democrats' impeachment of Trump. They freaked out when Trump brought up Biden corruption on a phonecall to Zelenskyy. The FBI had Hunter's laptop already back then. So it was very well known about the corruption (not just in Ukraine but elsewhere). Just imagine - they impeached TRUMP in order to protect Biden (and the Obama administration in general that had helped cover it all up). Perhaps the coup de grace (to American democracy - at least) was right before the 2020 election when - as the Hunter laptop scandal blew open - 51 high level former intelligence agency officials signed a letter claiming that the laptop was likely a product of 'Russian misinformation'. It was nothing of the sort, of course. But this propaganda operation - which we since learned was coordinated by current Biden admin Secretary of State Anthony Blinken - helped deceive many Americans ahead of the election on a matter of great national importance (if not national security).

Remember that bizarre news story about Joe Biden showering with his daughter?
Turns out, it looks like it was true.
Two Florida residents have pleaded guilty to stealing the diary of Ashley Biden, President Joe Biden's youngest daughter, and then selling it to right-wing activist group Project Veritas, the Justice Department announced Thursday.
Aimee Harris, 40, and Robert Kurlander, 58, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit interstate transportation of stolen property involving the theft of personal belongings of an immediate family member of a then-former government official for taking several items belonging to Ashley Biden in September 2020. The charge carries a maximum of five years in prison.
Kurlander has also agreed to cooperate with the government.
Though Ashley Biden, 41, is not named in the court documents, a source familiar with the case confirmed they were her belongings.
"Harris and Kurlander stole personal property from an immediate family member of a candidate for national political office," U.S. Attorney Damian Williams said in a statement. "They sold the property to an organization in New York for $40,000 and even returned to take more of the victim’s property when asked to do so."
So if the diary is real, that means the content of the diary is probably also real:
According to the diary, Ashley wrote that her father and our president took showers with her when she was young girl, fueling her sex-addiction.
Inside a January 2019 diary entry, she wrote “I remember having sex with friends @ a young age; showers w/ my dad.”
When the journal was reported missing, Project Veritas founder James O’ Keefe’s home was raided by police officials, claiming that he had stolen Ashley’s diary.
On Thursday, the journalism organization released a statement about the case saying “a journalist’s lawful receipt of material later alleged to be stolen is routine, commonplace and protected by the First Amendment.”
Back when Joe was a racist he had brain surgery.

I'm disappointed that you're making light of false child sex abuse accusations, though. If there are some genuine allegations at a later date, it will impact on the perception of them.
