On two wrecked Hondas..

In my youth, around the mid-90s so not that long ago, I was the proud owner of a very spritely Honda CRX that was the source of much joy and was the harbinger of much sought attention as per my skewed take on life at the time. Sadly one day it caught fire due to an electrical short and when the fire engine turned up it had already been reduced to a skeletal mass of metal and black rubber.

Somewhere in New York, thousands of miles from here, there is a fascinating young lady who also had a similar mishap. She owned one of my CRX's younger reincarnations, the Del Sol, and for reasons unknown this too was reduced to a wreck. How do we know? Well said young lady posted pics here and the caption read "My poor Del Sol, I miss you so much". It rang a bell with me and I recalled just how gutted I was for weeks after the incident so I thought I would console the young lady in my own small way by dropping her a line. I wrote a few appropriate lines and shared how I dealt with the loss and a few points that I thought would help.

A complete stranger on the other side of the ocean has shared in your experience and wants to let you know that you are being thought of, and is even venturing some tips on how he dealt with it.. Sadly you will never know, for you have filtered him out of your email settings even though he is not even that much older than you..

And it dawned on me then, I am now filtering material for some people.. I never was before, not that I recall at least. I wonder what other things I will progressively be automatically disqualified from. There is one thing that none of us can be filtered out of, though, and that is the passage of time itself. Who knows, dear New Yorker, one day you might be the one being filtered out.

maybe she will check her filter box..and sorry about your bike
Hey Kid, . . how ya doin?

I was just wondering, . . .just because I live in New York, . .

is this some kind of hint, . . . that you kinda, want me track this girl down, . . . look all over the state, . . . . go from door to door, . . knockin, . . .. blues

Just so that I can tell her, . . about your poor old CSX . . .conversing
Hi and thanks Iam.. yes you are right but it never occurred to me that I would be "filtered" in the first place you see. It was a sports car actually but Honda bikes rule as well!
Lol Jester she is one fine lady but I think I would struggle to hunt someone down on this tiny island let alone in NY :)
Actually Kid, . .

I know a "whole lot", . . of little ladies, back in New York, and they knew me, . . roll eyes

And that's kinda, exactly why, . . I left the country, and came here to CS, . . cool
You know it is funny, now that I wrote this I cannot even remember her name and how I even stumbled upon her. Still it does not diminish from the sentiment of the blog.
oops a car..ok..shows how much I know lol..about being filtered..you will come to find out or have already..that a lot of people have set their filter boxes..it surprises me too sometimes when I want to send someone a mail because of something they ask in the forum and what I want to tell them I don't want to do in public..it get real rough out there sometimes as you know..and well..anyway..must have been a nice car..I miss mine too..although not a sports car.. but I loved it since it never gave me any trouble.
For us I guess a car is a bit like a woman.. she might give you trouble and you might be tempted to trade her in at times, but deep down you still love her to bits :)
