Earthquake

We just had a 5.9 earthquake in Virginia and Maryland. It was centered 12 miles north of Richmond,Va and felt as far north as Rhode Island and as far south as Atlanta,Ga. To those of you that are use to earthquakes, this is nothing. We do not have earthquakes on the east coast of the US. This was a little scary for everyone here.

There is a fault line here and another one in TN that has not shown much activity for quite some time. The next quake, according to scientist will be the one in TN.

I am glad that you are okay. Gotta run, have to do head count.

I felt it too in Plainville, CT. My mom's mobile home shook and startled us both..everyone in the mobile home park left their homes to share their experiences. It hit about 1:50PM. shock

I can't believe so many people felt this. I'm glad everyone is fine. I know your real close to it Duckie. My daughter and grandchildren are in Va. right now but they are ok.

Be happy it wasn't very strong of an earthquake. I have been in a 7.1 and that was out of control. Here in california, ya get used to em.

Yes. I was out on a photo shoot when I felt a slight vibration on the ground... maybe lasting about 10 seconds or so. We've had a more local tremblor out in my area (Ottawa) last year, so it came as a bit of a surprise.
