Is there Job Satisfaction ? ? ? ?
Right now I am involved with a number of different things. The result is that my schedule is rather crazy and my hours are not regular office hours . This situation does not continue throughout the year, on occassion it subsides and when that happens I relish the lazy daysI have a feeling that I am about to shove my head into another of these crazy things, as soon as the bulk of this (my current) work is done.
I sometimes ask myself why I do this to myself , and the answer is simple . . . I love the thrill and the excitment of starting new projects. Sometimes they are not too exciting or interesting, but for me the great thing is . . . I can never get bored
For some people having the security of having a steady job is of paramount importance . . . I think if I had to go back to that now, I would go steadily insane
Working the way I do, nothing is certain from one day to the next, but I don't get to blame the economy for my poor pay, . . . I don't get to blame my colleagues for maing me feel, or look bad . . . I don't get to blame my boss for poor management. I get to blame the one looking back at me, when I look in my mirror. It's not easy to point fingers at yourself, so I seldom complain about it
Bottom line is . . . I don't get to pass the buck . .
I LOVE that with a PASSION
Any body else out there who ENJOYS what they do for a living?

I enjoy my job, my projects, my duties, meetings and all around
I am a happy person, because I am busy, exhausted, satisfied, angry, excited, motivated,....... because I feel, when I work I am alive!
exactly, you just HAVE to love your boss . . . don't you?
Having different skills obviously provides more opportunities to diversify when and if the need arises, which is great. I must admmit though, that i could never see myself as a sales person. Although I guess in a way I need to "sell myself" in the form of my skills promotion, whenever I tackle a potential new job.
Glad that you're enjoying your work
I'm also a very busy person and I love it this way. It keeps me out of boredom and trouble
Its like taking take of grandparents. They give you their wisdom & advice & hugs. They give you a different perspective on certain things. They look forward to you & ask for you. You know what makes them happy & do things for them that they can't.
And some days its frustrating in so many ways. It affects you physically & emtionally. You shed tears. You wanna spend more time with some but time doesn't permit. They want you at the same time & you can't be there at 5 places at once.....
I noticed you've been very busy lately . . .
very true, it can certainly do some SERIOUS damage to ones social life, not to mention the LOVE life
But I'm sure you enjoy what you do
Personally, I can hanlde the admin side of things, provided I get to go out as well.
Part of my job also takes me out of town once a week, and I love the drive through the country-side
As far as i'm concerned you have one of the MOST delicate, emotionally draining jobs. If you are not emotionally involved, you get no job satisfaction. If you are too emotional, the job can be devastating.
Stricking a balance can NOT be an easy task. I REALLY admire you and those in the medical profession, especially those dealing with young children. I can generally cope well with emergency care and treatment, but long term frail care . . . NO, I know that I would not be able to deal with the emotional aspect of it.
I always maintain that priests, social workers, and those in the medical profession, all need to see a psychologist every once in a while, just so that they can be "debriefed"? or "unload", especially after prolonged traumatic exposure or some difficult cases.
You belong to a part of a truely NOBLE profession.
Not everybody is cut out for every job
Some are just more suited to some than to others
I hope you are happier in your current one
Is that not an oxymoron???
Coffeemix - My job is retirement, and I am enjoying it very much.
