reminded me of an incident i had in a supermarket some years ago ,there are often food and drink tasting stands in this supermarket, anyway one day i ventured in to buy some wine for a party in my best working clothes jeans hoodie boots all covered in paint cement etc ,so i came upon this lady demonstrating some wine of course she had all the lingo and spoke very refined dressed immaculatly and there were people at her stand tasting and as people walked by she would reach out with a glass (plastic) ,and give them a taster and as i approached i was just going to take one from her and she gave me one look and gave it to someone else ,so feeling a bit insulted by this i watched and if someone wasnt well dressed she ignored them so i went home showered and put on my suit for the party i was going to i went back into the supermarket all prettied up and of course i went to this lady again and YES she handed me a little plastic cup and i said thanks and went on to tell her what happened earlier i was able to tell her how her winr tasted of various fruits and the different bouqets i put a case of her wine into my trolley went to a shelf and picked out a case of white and red off another wine and open a bottle got one of her plastic glasses and gave her a taste went to the checkout paid for the bottle separately went back asked her what she had thought of it she said it was lovely i handed her a bottle of my wine with the reciept and told her enjoy it and always remember never judge a book by its cover - HAVE YOU EVER BEEN JUDGED WRONGLY BECAUSE OF WHAT YOU WORE ETC

All the time Mike. I really should get a hair cut
I bet she was pretty drunk on her product, What a Job.
People are judged by their appearance all the time! I am involved in merger and acquisition of business, and every time i am in a new project, I never wear a suit, and I have had some very “funny” situations. My lasts project in Uk (today), I had a “blast” because appearance, as I show up without a suit/tie.
Yes, people still judge you by “visions”, rather than objectivity!
Bogart isnt it awful and isnt it great that some forward thinking companies no longer judge on appearance
Waf there the other side if the coin lol
ZMAN how you ya great story i havent millions but same type thing bet if everyone knew he would suddenly have lots friends
About 4 years ago I went to go cash in the bottles and cans in for recycling that I had saved. On the way back home I went to a gas station and bought a beer. I was planning on drinking it that evening as it was 12 noon and too early.
As I walked up to the counter the cashier looked at me and said, "Isn't it too early for this"? Since I probably smelled from the stale beer and soda from the cans I sorted at the recycler this man jumped to the conclusion that I was a drunkard because I was looking real grubby.
In truth I had done this for a disabled friend and was delivering the money to him. But the cynical cashier didn't need an explanation. I took one look at him and when I got home I called the parent company and told them the story. Customer service apologized and sent me coupons for $20.00 worth of gas.
I'm running on my work into ordinary clothes and I often see a similar reaction...
BUT I do not pay attention to this because I know how I can look if I did want to...
I live on a smallholding so am invariably dressed in my "garden wear". So, when I have to go the the supermarket, I go dressed as is & get strange looks from people...
Rudeness, on the other hand, is an action that is taken. The wine lady was clearly rude and unprofessional. And then again, maybe you reminded her of her x?
I enjoy wearing shirts etc with holes in.
cause people judge me wrongly all the time, think I have loads of money, if Im positive.
And they want to half murder me, especially if the girls start speaking to me.
If Im at a market, and I open my wallet just to buy something, the person next to me, will stare at the money in my hand, and you can just see the jealousy and look of. Oh, ye he gets his money for nothing and just walks into a job.
Meanwhile, its that jealousy etc, that stops me from been able to sell anything or do my business, cause Ive always got to worry about what people think and say.
so, if I wear rags, then it seems to help a bit, as they think, oh, its ok, Im better off than he is.
Its like Im not allowed to have anything, and when I do, I get questions, like, is that your card, or car etc.
and, when someone sees me with something, even an old 20 year bmw. they want it, and keep asking me.
How much for the car, you must sell it to me.
