The Age Of Innocence
What happens to us as we get older... We lose our inhibitions, we lose our sense of Fun. The feel of mud oozing through your toes isn't "cool" anymore. I remember walking home from school in the rain and FINDING puddles to jump into! Now I avoid them, and when we feel like ripping everything off and running into the sea, why can't we? Because now we older, and expected to act a certain way, and we start to worry about what people are going to say if we act differently.Sad really

I remember those feelings as vividly as you do.
I have learned recently not to worry so much what other's think of me as long as I know in my heart, the person who I am and that's all that truly matters.
You can still jump in the puddles as long as you don't splash anyone else in the process, IMO. :) Best wishes to you.
You are ruining the friendship. Don't pop my bubble like this!
Might be a bit easier for me here, I'm not Irish, so behaving a bit differently is something I can get away with.
I just do what I feel comfortable with and never loose the zest for life!
I think for me, it is the fact that I'm getting older that is the issue. I don't care what others think.
But I have changed an no longer want to do the stupid and crazy things that I did in my youth.
Maybe you feel restricted by peer pressure, I certainly don't.
For me every stage of life is different. Sure I like to have fun, but now fun is defined differently.
My body is saggy in spots it never used to be, so out of self-respect, I don't want to expose it to many people any more.
But that is me. If you worry about what others think, they will rule your life. Live in the freedom you have and choose what you choose because you choose it. But be considerate of others as well.
I mean. I can barely run, I move slower, I speak slower thus clearer and I am more patient. But that doesn't stop me from silly! I love silly and I always will.
