Actually I've always thought this a bit glib, that theory that no-one ever lies on their deathbed regretting the things they didn't do, not the things they did. Lots of things in my life that seemed tempting at the time, when I look back, I am very glad I didn't do! But yes, one or two chances that even in retrospect, I wonder about ...
