Shine's Historical Adventure for Today
I've been out exploring the area that I live in. I pass by this old house quite a bit but I never knew the history behind it. This house is sooooo different from any of the houses in our area. You can tell at one time that this place was grand. It looks out over beautiful pastures everywhere in the middle of Fancy Gap, Va. I noticed the other day when passing by that they have the house lifted up. The historical society in our area is going to restore it. I was very interested in the history of this house and got online to research it. Come to find out this is J. Sidna Allen's house. He was part of the Carroll County Courthouse Massacre. This is BIG history among the people that are from this area. So, I am posting some links so that you might read up on it....very interesting.---- IMAGE REMOVED because photobucket.com no longer allows embedded images ----
