Maya Prophesies

What we know of the Maya and their ancient
prophesies is quite interesting, and flawed.

Most of the original texts and knowledge were
'lost' to the Conquistadors and the Catholic
Church in their zeal for converts.

Almost all of their temples and cities were
destroyed to repurpose materials for new
buildings and various projects.

There is no Rosetta Stone to interpret the
existing writings and the Maya understandably
do not trust the Spanish.

The real Maya still exist. Their version of the
prophesies and the academically accepted
versions are like night and day. But the Maya
will not correct the record.

Most of the true ancients don't even speak
Spanish, which complicates matters even more.

I have been studying Maya legend, history and
their prophesies for about 11 years now.

The people now know and trust me.

I am starting to learn Traditional Maya, at their
insistence, so that more can be taught to me.

From all that I have learned so far, from all that
has been told to me, I'm not looking forward to
hearing the final details.

I am open to intelligent debate on this topic.

All prophesies are about doom and gloom so whatever you learn will not be good. Think we all know that life on earth is going to change drastically some or other time. How and when cant be known for sure. It has happened before and will happen again. Don't think we can prevent it even if we know the how and when. Still interesting so hope you manage to learn enough of the language to get the knowledge that they still have.
The Mayan "propheCies" is a very Interesting topic indeed.thumbs up

I'll write more about it later when I'm on my computer.
Still waiting for the leader with a blue turban. Oh wait, that was Nostradamus, wasn't it?
