S T A R G A T E

It's great when YouTube plays full length movies... for free.
Usually, they are online for a limited basis then the status requires login, subscription, and a fee.
Be sure you have ad-block on your browser as I'm told every few minutes the movie is interrupted to play a commercial.

I'm watching STARGATE (again) tonight. I love the music score.

Pleasantly surprised, but not fooled.....

.... by the normally way altleftie biases, VERY way, of our still taxpayer funded, American Public Broadcasting reportage.
The lower class, rude, "got ya" inquisitions at ALL presidential press conferences. Same in the print media. And the like.
To deny any trace of this, is a cardinal sign of severe TD-HD Syndrome. To actually use some of the fake news, exclusively, by paste and post here, pushes these Syndrome victims into terminal status.
But over the past few days, with such a strong presentation of diverse, VERY diverse, and grounded speeches at the Republican Convention, and tightening of the polls, what's this now?
A relatively fair and more balanced group of political wonks being interviewed in these media outlets. Showing they can do so, but displaying little else. And after many such tiny jaunts into fairness, they are beginning to state, often, "You heard the previous pieces on American Public Media". Pathetic and revealing.
Recall, as in my earlier evidence based blogs, Public Broadcasting was started mostly beginning with academic radio and TV stations, as an idea to present some balance to commercial venues. Initially completely taxpayer funded, and unbiased, the Right saw the undeniable near total shift over time to ueber biased left wing programming, and had congress decrease the funding. Now over half of the blood money comes by way of regular cheesy annoying BEGATHONS by these broadcasters. Replete with baubles for contributers promising their money. Donate large, and you get Bette Midler CD's, or a subscription to the NYT. Taxpayer money to support such biased fundraising is of questionable media ethics, if not rank illegality.
But none are fooled. Nearly five decades of ever growing biases, corresponding to the hiring of college graduates, themselves under leftie high school and university teaching practices, is in NO way trend forming.
But lets see the comments by the few high Syndrome victimshere. The distorted cognitions, along with obsessions and compulsions, all aflame, as ever.
After the reelection, and shift in the House, watch how these purveyors of near consistent leftwing biases get taken to task.
Can't make this up, and you heard it here first.
From your sometimes blocked, fat little illiterate, gnomoid Vierk runt-dwarf.

Can President Trump, following all the

many executive orders of his affirmative action predecesor, B Hussein O,, pull for service evaluation, the broadcast licenses of so-called public media? These broadcasters were started half a century ago, and were meant to be an independent "non-commercial" alternative to commercial broadcast media---and were funded almost entirely by taxpayer dollars. Even the most moonbat viewer of current shows on these channels, if at all fairminded, will see the incredible left wing (now morphing into rabid alt-left Trump bashing) thrust presented. When started, these media showed only a little left bias, consistent with the sentimentalities of then staff, but over time, as with government education workers, university academics, much of foreign tax-funded media (BBC, DW, RFI, others), the content is anything but even handed. Non-commercial? PBS/NPR are loaded with glossy detailed adverts---so much for "viewer funded" myths. Not to forget are the many day long "volunteer assisted" BEGATHONS, touting music and other CD's and DVD's for crass commercial consumption. It's true that the percentage of taxpayer funding has decresed over the years (thanks Mr. Gingrich), but it should long have been zero. Curiously, local NPR (National Proletarian Radio), is mounting an enormous multi milion dollar cash raising effort, apart from the usual begathons, (aimed, allegedly, at operating expenses), for a total operation makeover. Do they sense shifting public scrutiny? Finally, check out the salaries of the suits at these organizations, not the women or peon workers, but the brass, for a shock or two, especially at the Beeb. Truth be told. Aa.

Sappy Romance Films

Let's get this straight right up front. I don't like them (but I've seen them all ...at least twice each). innocent

I've kept a long list of the ones I've suffered through. But someone recommended Me Before You to me yesterday so I went and watched it today. I saw it before years ago.

I hated it! (but couldn't take my eyes off the screen.)

Unfortunately my allergies acted up (season is changing here ) badly affecting my eyes and I couldn't even see half the movie. So I'm probably going to have to watch it yet again. Crap!

It's 5:21 AM - I should be asleep . . .

. . .however, I felt compelled to watch the movie Atonement.

T'was my first time, watching the film, which I found to be heart-wrenchingly sad.

The beautiful thing about films, is when the writer's of the script and the actors are so
damn good at their performance, that it's convincing enough to have you despise certain
characters for their behavior. Makes me miss writing.

I'll be so happy when I can afford a new desktop, so I can complete the novel I started
back in 2010.

The one thing I truly enjoyed in this film, was the bassoon. Gawd, I f*cking love that
instrument. There's something so haunting and enchanting about that sound in a
love story. It's foreboding. It's like you can sense impending tragedy. Wasn't enough
to tip me off what was to come. crying

I felt it would be more like the movie The Piano, which has so much moody bassoon
compositions in it. Now, THAT is one of my favorite movies.

I adore Holly Hunter. She was fabulous in that movie, and so funny in Home For The
Holidays
; which is the best movie anyone from a dysfunctional family could appreciate.
It's not actually funny to be in one, and to experience the anguish of bullshit that those
who you grow to trust can do. No one on Earth can wound you deeper than family,
because they know all your weaknesses and buttons. However, that movie paints
a comical picture of a family riddled with issues, and people that genuinely hate
each other - well, at least one of them does. The writers and acting was brilliant
on that one too.

Eh, it's 5:34 now. I should go crawl in my hammock, and softly sway to sleeping
in my striped cocoon of dreams.

FROM INDIA WITH LOVE part 2

Crown woke at the sound of the motor bike. He rushed to the window and saw the back of the rider disappear into the distance. He saw the pile of clothes near the bed. Stupid b*tch he thought. She was so intelligent but forgot to get dressed. He picked up the discarded items and put them on the bed. He lay down again and with his head on the pillow began to reflect on the few days that had elapsed and how he had ended up in Mumbai and encountered the beautiful agent with the code name Lana.

Army of the Dead - a review!

When i saw that Zack Snyder made a zombie film, starring Dave Bautista, I was intrigued. Then the trailer dropped, and we got our first look at the film - it looked promising.

It dropped on Netflix three days ago, on the 21st of May. I didn't have time to watch it when it dropped, so I waited until Saturday to watch it. So how was it? Did it sink its teeth into my attention, or would it be a dead view?

Initially, things were promising. The opening scene was good, although the soldiers in the scene made some extremely stupid decisions. "Fine, it's a film. I'll let it slide", was my thought. The rest of the film can only be described as awful. Truly awful. The characters are not likeable at all, and even when most of them die, I didn't feel anything. "Oh, that person died? I don't care, I am so bored!"

The film stars Dave Bautista as Scott Ward, a mercenary and the founder of a mercenary group called Las Vengeance. Other people in the cast include Ella Purnell, Omari Hardwick, Ana de la Reguera, Thoe Rossi and Matthias Schweighöfer. Other cast members include Nora Arnezeder, Hiroyuki Sanada, Garret Dillahunt and Tig Notaro, who was cast in place of the actor who had to be let go due to allegations of less than good stuff.

The entire city of Las Vegas has been walled off due to a zombie outbreak. Mr Tanaka (Hiroyuki Sanada) enters a diner that Scott Ward works at, and gives him a proposition: Help him steal 200 million dollars from an underground bank vault, and he will be paid $50 million. After his initial hesitation, Scott agrees to do it. He gathers his team, and they attempt the heist of a lifetime. However, dangers lurk in the shadows. Dangers that are known as Alpha's, which are a new breed of smart zombies.. Yes, you read that right: Smart zombies. The entire point of zombies is that they are mindless drones, whose sole desire is to eat anything that lives, so making a new type of "smart zombies" is just absolutely ridiculous!

I will give credit to the makeup team. They did an excellent job with the Alpha's. They look great! They even include a tiger AND a horse, which are pretty well made. The film has a lot.. And I mean a LOT of gore. However, a lot of gore doesn't make a film any good. I was extremely bored throughout the film, which is a very bad sign.

As a whole, the film gets a 5/10
