The Night Comes For Us - a review!
Indonesian films are always bonkers. The Raid and The Raid 2 are perfect examples of that.
This film pairs Iko Uwais and Joe Taslim again, after their previous movie, The Raid. Other actors include Julie Estelle, Zack Lee, Sunny Pang, Abimana Aryasatya, Salvita Decorte and Asha Kenyeri Bermudez.
So what is it about?
Joe Taslim plays Ito, a gangland enforcer, caught amidst a treacherous and violent insurrection within his Triad crime family upon his return home from a stint abroad. When Ito turns his back on the Triad, they send their rising star, Arian, played by Iko Uwais, to kill Ito. Ito and Arian are old friends, which makes it a bit awkward, to say the least.
The movie opens with a bang, literally. What follows is a 2 hour brutal film, where there is a lot of blood, dismemberments, guts, broken bones and crushed skulls. The movie is so bloody, that it earned an NC-17 rating, which is only given to movies too violent and brutal to get an R rating.
The acting is great, and the fight scenes are intense. Asha Kenyeri Bermudez does a fantastic job as the child, who Ito takes under his protection.
While I was watching it, I kept thinking "That was absolutely disgusting" several times over. It is definitely not for the squeamish kind of people, and it would most definitely be banned in certain places, due to the graphic violence in the film.
Like I said in the beginning, Indonesian films are ridiculous, but in a good way.
This movie earns a 9/10 from me!

It was a cold overcast day in central London when Crown left his apartment and drove his AC Cobra to the secret service building and parked it in his usual spot. Instead of using the lift he climbed the stairs to the third floor and entered his office where his secretary Lois Proudfoot immediately looked relieved to see him The chief of staff wants you. He's with Mr Noon now so can you go to see him now. Crown didn't stop to question her but went straight to Noon's office. Noon was the head of the secret service and had Crown's great respect.

Come in Crown and sit down. Noon was looking through the office window and slowly swivelled round in his red leather chair. He had a folder in his hands and handed it to Crown. That's for you to study after this meeting. Something's come up, and I need you to take charge of the matter. We have a double agent working in the Russian embassy in Mumbai. She is really one of ours and we have been feeding her information of sufficient quality to make her appear to be effective in working for the Russian service. The FSB. She has been accepted by them and she has access to something of great value, which she says she could obtain. But that would be the end of her operation there and she would need to leave the place pretty quickly for fear of retribution.
This is where you come in Crown. I want you to help her carry out the procurement of the vital machinery and get her and yourself out of the country.
You will find travel tickets in that folder. You will leave for India tomorrow morning

1964 was a good year for Margaret Nolan...
British actress Margaret Nolan was the gold painted woman in the 1964 James Bond movie Goldfinger. She also appeared in the 1964 Beatles film “A Hard Day’s Night.”
Along the way, her career landed many other movie parts.
Unfortunately, 2020 wasn't a good year for Margaret.
She died on Sunday at the age of 76.
The cause of death has not been revealed.

I've read that Trump walked out on an interview by Leslie Stahl, because the questions were too tough for him. 
He was also supposed to take part in an interview with Mike Pence, but didn't come back for it.
Joe Biden was also interviewed and simply answered their questions without storming out like a 3 year old.
Perhaps it will be another nail in the coffin of the Trump reign of terror.
Is it even possible, that there are still some people out there, that actually still think, that Trump is smart ?

I learned a lot about his life, his choices, and the many challenges he overcame.
It gave me a much fuller appreciation for who he truly was.
His life was an amazing story of achievement, despite the many obstacles.
At one point, he lived in NY sleeping at night using coins to enter pay toilets.

His death was confirmed by Eugene Torchon-Newry, acting director general of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Bahamas, where Mr. Poitier grew up. No other details were immediately provided.
Mr. Poitier, whose Academy Award for the 1963 film “Lilies of the Field” made him the first Black performer to win in the best-actor category, rose to prominence when the civil rights movement was beginning to make headway in the United States. His roles tended to reflect the peaceful integrationist goals of the struggle.
Although often simmering with repressed anger, his characters responded to injustice with quiet determination. They met hatred with reason and forgiveness, sending a reassuring message to white audiences and exposing Mr. Poitier to attack as an Uncle Tom when the civil rights movement took a more militant turn in the late 1960s.
“It’s a choice, a clear choice,” Mr. Poitier said of his film parts in a 1967 interview. “If the fabric of the society were different, I would scream to high heaven to play villains and to deal with different images of Negro life that would be more dimensional. But I’ll be damned if I do that at this stage of the game.”
At the time, Mr. Poitier was one of the highest-paid actors in Hollywood and a top box-office draw, ranked fifth among male actors in Box Office magazine’s poll of theater owners and critics; he was behind only Richard Burton, Paul Newman, Lee Marvin and John Wayne. Yet racial squeamishness would not allow Hollywood to cast him as a romantic lead, despite his good looks.
“To think of the American Negro male in romantic social-s*xual circumstances is difficult, you know,” he told an interviewer. “And the reasons why are legion and too many to go into.”
Mr. Poitier often found himself in limiting, saintly roles that nevertheless represented an important advance on the demeaning parts offered by Hollywood in the past. In “No Way Out” (1950), his first substantial film role, he played a doctor persecuted by a racist patient, and in “Cry, the Beloved Country” (1952), based on the Alan Paton novel about racism in South Africa, he appeared as a young priest. His character in “Blackboard Jungle” (1955), a troubled student at a tough New York City public school, sees the light and eventually sides with Glenn Ford, the teacher who tries to reach him. ......

In Spain today, this should keep Rolf happy, a news item about the Spanish film "The Corpse of Anna Fritz", released in Oct 2015 the film has received little interest in Spain, 9000 have been to see it with box office takings of €36k. The basic plot is - On learning that a famous actress lies dead in the morgue, three young men decide to be the last to have sex with her.
Now this is where it gets interesting, 9000 have seen it Spain but it's been illegally downloaded from the net over 6 million times since October, predominantly the downloads have all gone to one country ......The Philippines
This leaves me with two questions, should the film have been made in the first place, I think I'm pretty broad minded when it comes to sex but I've never even considered Necrophilia, secondly, why do so many in The Philippines want to see it.
