WASHINGTON — The death of the Islamic State’s leader in a daring nighttime raid vindicated the value of three traditional American strengths: robust alliances, faith in intelligence agencies and the projection of military power around the world.
But President Trump has regularly derided the first two. And even as he claimed a significant national security victory on Sunday, the outcome of the raid did little to quell doubts about the wisdom of his push to reduce the United States military presence in Syria at a time when terrorist threats continue to develop in the region.
Mr. Trump has long viewed the United States intelligence agencies with suspicion and appears to see its employees as members of the “deep state.” He also has a distinctly skeptical view of alliances — in this case, close cooperation with the Kurds, whom he has effectively abandoned.

"Next week, the House Intelligence Committee will hold its first open hearings as part of the impeachment inquiry," said Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff on Twitter, adding that more hearings were to come.
Schiff, speaking to reporters outside the secure room in the Capitol basement where State Department official David Hale was testifying, said that the open hearings will allow the public to see the evidence and hear from witnesses themselves and “make their own determinations” about the allegations against the president.
"The most important facts are largely not being tested," Schiff said. "We are getting an increasing appreciation for just what took place during the course of the last year and the degree to which the President enlisted whole departments of government in the illicit aim of trying to get Ukraine to dig up dirt on a political opponent, as well as further conspiracy theories about the 2016 election that he believed would be beneficial to his re-election campaign."
The Oct. 31 vote to formalize the impeachment process laid out a format for the public phase of the inquiry.
The first hearings will be held on Nov. 13 with Ambassador William Taylor and Deputy Assistant Secretary George Kent.
Taylor currently serves as the head American diplomat in Ukraine and previously told congressional investigators behind closed doors that a White House meeting between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as well as security aid would be conditioned on investigations into Democrats.
What does it mean?: The Trump impeachment is all about an allegation of quid pro quo.
Kent, the State Department official overseeing European and Eurasian policy, said he raised red flags within the department about the influence of Trump's personal attorney Rudy Giuliani in Ukraine policy making.
Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch will testify publicly on Nov. 15.
Yovanovitch, who was dismissed as the U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine following criticism in conservative media amplified by figures like Donald Trump Jr., told investigators she was told to tweet support for Trump if she wanted to keep her job...

After YEARS of dragging the country through torture over one phony attack on President Trump after another, what have Democrats accomplished besides dividing the country and tearing people apart?
And what have they done to help the people of the United States other than wasting billions of taxpayers dollars on these fake investigations and phony impeachments?

Neil Peart, Drummer and Lyricist of Rush, Dead at 67
Neil Peart, the drummer and lyricist of progressive rock band Rush, has died, CBC News and Rolling Stone report. According to the reports, Peart died on January 7 in Santa Monica, California after a years-long battle with brain cancer. He was 67 years old.
Renowned for his technical expertise and unique performance style, Neil Peart was considered by many to be one of the best rock drummers of all time. He retired from professional drumming, and Rush, in 2015. Find a statement from bandmates Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson below.
Born in 1952, Neil Peart picked up the drums at an early age and played in several bands in his native Ontario before joining Rush in 1974, shortly ahead of the group’s first-ever U.S. tour. Peart replaced founding drummer John Rutsey and would remain in Rush for the rest of his professional career, recording on every one of their studio albums save for their debut self-titled LP. Peart picked up lyricist duties beginning with the band’s second album Fly by Night in 1975.
Peart quickly gained notoriety for his powerful rock drumming. As Rush continued to record albums and expand their sound over the decades, his drumming style continued to shift as well, incorporating more percussion elements and early sample-triggering into his performances. He reached a breakthrough in the mid-1990s when he sought instruction from jazz drummer Freddie Gruber. “After 40, 45 years of playing, I wanted to push myself and open up this whole new frontier,” Peart said in 2017. “I’ve been able to do that as a lyricist and as a prose writer, and now as a drummer. You have to challenge your own limitations and your own expectations of yourself.”
In 1997, Peart experienced tragedy with the death of his daughter Selena Taylor in a car accident. Less than a year later, his wife Jacqueline died following a battle with cancer. These deaths resulted in Peart taking time off from the band, during which he traveled North America via motorcycle to grieve, before returning in 2002 for Rush’s 17th studio album Vapor Trails. He later documented that trip in his book Ghost Rider: Travels on the Healing Road.
In December 2015, Peart announced his retirement from drum performance, and Rush, in an interview with Drumhead Magazine. During the interview, he told a story about his daughter Olivia. “Lately Olivia has been introducing me to new friends at school as, ‘My dad—He's a retired drummer,’” he quipped. “True to say—funny to hear. And it does not pain me to realize that, like all athletes, there comes a time to... take yourself out of the game.”

It's GAME OVER for the Democrat's impeachment scam as several videos resurfaced putting an end to their last hope of success. In addition to a video of John Bolton characterizing the call which is at the heart of the scam impeachment a perfect call, which trashes the Democrat's last hope of coming up with even more fake evidence, other videos surfaced of Adam Schiff himself accusing Bolton of having no credibility (and another video of Obama doing the same thing). So any claims of value in calling Bolton as a witness at this point (not that there ever was any value) have been completely trashed.
