Before internet, If I found a product that didn't live up to expectations (based on the manufacturers advertisements) I would mail a letter to the company and demand my money back! Who refunded my money?
Muffler Bandage and Instant Tooth Repair. Those were products selling for less than $5.
What happens when you buy a $500 TV or $800 refrigerator only have remorse for the purchase? Typically, you had to get upper management involved if a major purchase didn't work as advertised.
It was only by word of mouth to tell people about inferior products. Asking a salesman information about a product often didn't get the response you wanted/needed, especially if they had a vested interest (commission) in the product being sold.
Fast forward... we have internet and many stores have websites that allow users to post reviews... good or bad.
On a current blog, the trend is to read reviews describing products or services to help the reader avoid troubles choosing the wrong hotel or purchasing an inferior product.
Worthless reviews are everywhere... for example:

When we ran out of milk last week, my son bought 2 milk boxes from a convenience store. I commented that they weren't tummy friendly and the following day my son bought 7 boxes of tummy friendly milk. The milk from the convenience store has a new packaging. I thought it was kind of cute and eco friendlier since it is very easy to cut, wash and dry for recycling purposes. The downside is, the new package is only 900 ml. While the old package is 1000 ml. Really sign of the times!

The president of the United States, like all elected officials and public servants, swears to uphold and defend the Constitution against all enemies. But there is one responsibility the president must bear alone, and that is the obligation to act as the commander in chief, the guardian of our national security and the defender of our nation from malevolent foreign powers. The Mueller report makes clear that Donald Trump has failed miserably in this sacred obligation, and instead has traded his constitutional duty for his own safety.
Special counsel Robert Mueller’s conclusions laid to rest some — but not all — of the legal issues surrounding the Russian attempts to subvert our democratic processes. As the report notes, Mueller’s team could not find a specific agreement between the Trump campaign and the Russian government to cooperate in an operation against American institutions.
For this, we should be grateful, but that’s about as far as the good news goes.
As a team of writers at Lawfare put it, Trump’s people “were aware the Russians sought to help them win. They welcomed that assistance. Instead of warning the American public, they devised a public relations and campaign strategy that sought to capitalize on Russia’s illicit assistance. In other words, the Russians and the Trump campaign shared a common goal, and each side worked to achieve that goal with basic knowledge of the other side’s intention. They just didn’t agree to work toward that goal together.”
As a candidate and as a citizen, Trump had a responsibility to put a stop to this unethical and dangerous behavior in his organization. He had an obligation to report it to the FBI, and to work with the government to thwart the Russian efforts. Instead, he knowingly allowed his campaign and some of the people closest to him to continue their contacts with the Russians, and then he spent months lying, encouraging others to cover for him, and gaslighting an entire nation with talks of witch hunts and hoaxes.
This is execrable behavior from a citizen. But a citizen has the right to be execrable and to do bad things, as lawyers would say, that are “lawful but awful.” As president, however, it is now clear from the Mueller report that Trump knows, and has known for years, what Mueller knew. He knows that the Russian assault on the U.S. political system was real, sustained and serious. He knows now that he is surrounded by people who tried to benefit from that attack on his behalf. He knows that it is likely to happen again.
A president determined to fulfill his duty to protect the nation would admit these realities. He would come before the American people and their representatives with an admission, at the least, of poor judgement, and a plan to fight the continuing Russian attacks on our country. But Trump is still engaged in glorious gaslighting, with his partisans declaring victory while trying to focus the public’s attention on the few issues where the news media — who amazingly got the story mostly right — ended up chasing bad leads about immensely complicated matters into dead ends.
A president determined to defend the nation would take the Mueller report as a mark of shame, and then support a full and bipartisan investigation of the security of our election process. A president who takes seriously his oath as commander in chief would, in a better administration, be in shock to realize the astonishing level of penetration of his inner circle by agents of the Russian Federation. He would clean house and demand to know how his own campaign and how people who might still have access to the West Wing became threats to national security.

BREAKING: AG Barr Appoints U.S. Attorney To Investigate Origins Of Russia Investigation
Attorney General Bill Barr has appointed a U.S. attorney to investigate the origins of the Russia investigation and to determine if the FBI's surveillance of the Trump campaign in 2016 was legal.
The Associated Press reported that a source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said that Barr "appointed John Durham, the U.S. attorney in Connecticut, to conduct the inquiry."
"The inquiry will focus on whether the government’s methods to collect intelligence relating to the Trump campaign were lawful and appropriate," The AP added. "Durham has previously investigated law enforcement corruption, the destruction of CIA videotapes and the Boston FBI office’s relationship with mobsters."
In April, a Trump administration official told Fox News that Barr had assembled a team to investigate the origins of the Obama administration's FBI counterintelligence investigation of the Trump campaign.
"I am reviewing the conduct of the investigation and trying to get my arms around all the aspects of the counterintelligence investigation that was conducted during the summer of 2016," Barr said during a congressional hearing in April.
Fox News reported on Monday that multiple sources had told the network that "Barr was 'serious' and had assigned DOJ personnel to the probe. Durham is known as a 'hard-charging, bulldog' prosecutor, Fox News is told."
"Sources familiar with matter say the focus includes pre-transition period -- prior to Nov. 7, 2016 -- including the use and initiation of informants, as well as potential Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) abuses," Fox News added. "An informant working for U.S. intelligence posed as a Cambridge University research assistant in September 2016 to try to probe George Papadopoulos, then a Trump foreign policy adviser, on the campaign's possible ties to Russia, it emerged earlier this month. And, Papadopoulos told Fox News, the informant tried to 'seduce' him as part of the 'bizarre' episode."
Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) reacted to the news by writing on Twitter: "John Durham is an outstanding choice for special prosecutor investigating 2016 pre-election activities—his selection further demonstrates Bill Barr’s tenacity and determined desire to get to the truth and restore credibility at the top tier of the DOJ and FBI."

When Ely Hydes woke up on Thursday morning, he had no idea what was in store for him through the day ahead of him.
In case you have not heard, Hydes is the Detroit Tigers‘ fan who caught Albert Pujols‘ 2000th RBI ball during Thursday’s game between the Tigers and Los Angeles Angels. Rather than exchanging the ball for memorabilia and a meet and greet with Pujols, Hydes made the decision to keep the ball.
Balls hit into the stands become the property of the person who catches it, so Hydes deciding to keep the ball was 100% his right.
On Friday, Hydes took to Facebook to give a little bit of insight into what exactly unfolded after he caught the ball and to call out the Ilitch family (especially Chris Ilitch) and Kyle Bogenschutz (Bogey) of 97.1 The Ticket.

Couple answers to questions I’ve been getting. When I was yelling “Anne Frank!” It was in response to everyone from the media and the stadium telling me NOT to let ANYONE touch or hold the ball. I thought it was obvious, but perhaps I’m just a nerd for history. I say, “Watson and Crick (And Rosalind Franklin!)” and you say “DNA.” I say “Neil Armstrong” and you say “one small step for man…” I say “Anne Frank” and you say “people are truly good at heart.” People were so cynical over the ball that I felt compelled to let every person and their monkey’s uncle pose with the ball and hold it. The ball is right here on my coffee table. Anne Frank wins. Now go vote.
Second. I am not rich. I am a broke-a** law student. I did not do this out of any sort of “entitlement.” Anne Frank, ya’ll. I had the best of intentions. This ball will most likely end up in the hall of fame. I’m sorry if no one can “authenticate” it, but the only reason I ended up with it is because Tigers management treated me so terribly.
Number 3 and this is the big one: (F___for any news media that want to quote me) The Ilitches–the living ones of the younger generation. They have ruined the damned game. They are greed incarnate. Their people treated me like garbage. I had to physically put money into their ushers’ pockets because no one in Comerica is allowed to take tips. They charge 11 bucks for a beer now. They share zero profits with the city. They own most of my goddamn neighborhood–and thanks to bryant gumbel, I now know they have owned it for years and let it fall into blight in order to use that as leverage to get hundreds of millions of dollars from a city of the poorest people in America in the middle of filing for bankruptcy. Hey Chris Ilitch: YOU. You are scum.
One more thing: everyone yesterday was cool as hell. Special shoutout to the dude from the Detroit News–you were the coolest guy all day. Shout out to Dennis Fithian and Jeff Riger–you guys were exactly as cool as I was hoping. I’ve listened to y’ll for years and gave you shoutouts all day. I quoted “Quentin Berry” as my favorite tiger and told Caputo to suck it, lol. What a great day.

MyPillow CEO: ‘Everybody Loves Our President; Some Just Don't Know it Yet’
Speaking on Mark Levin’s Fox News program, “Life, Liberty and Levin,” on Sunday, MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell said, “Everybody loves our president; some just don't know it yet.”
“I’ve said it before so many times: everybody loves our president; some just don't know it yet,” Lindell said. “And, they’re jumping on board, and they come over here and they go, ‘Well, I guess they’re right; I guess they’re right.’ Pretty soon, it’s going to be down to just the fake news and a few people going, ‘Okay, I guess, we give.’”

Levin: “Let me ask you a question. The man that you met there, the man you’ve come to know. Is that the man that’s portrayed by the media?”
Lindell: “No. It’s shameful. It’s so shameful. I don't understand it. They - I don’t understand it. And now, you know what I do like now, though? Is I can say to everyone I’ve talked to, ‘I told you so.’ You know, all these things that done in spite of the media.
“And, I spoke two days before the election in 2016, or three days before in Minnesota, before he got there. And, I ended my speech, I was so scared to get up there and but I started talking and it’s about two minutes in and I pointed to the media and I said, ‘You guys are wrong, he’s going to be the greatest president in history.’
“And now I go, my own media and everywhere, they’re going, ‘I told you guys.’ You know, what's funny is, they don't know what to say, one-on-one. They’ll call me - I was just out in California and some very left progressive areas and I talk to the people and they’re going, ‘We love what you’re doing Mike, but what’s wrong with you? You’re aligning yourself with this president?’ And I go, ‘What do you mean? And I go down the list, what he’s done: brought jobs back, ISIS is gone, high stock market, low gas .
“I see all my friends, now, employed, and the wages. It’s just amazing to me. And I’m - for the media to attack, I’m just waiting. And I just seen it like the other day, a fifty-something percent approval rating now. I’ve said it before so many times: everybody loves our president; some just don't know it yet. And they’re jumping onboard, and they come over here and they go, ‘Well, I guess they’re right, I guess they’re right.’ Pretty soon, it’s going to be down to just the fake news and a few people going, ‘Okay, I guess, we give.’”
