This weekend was an abortion. Almost everything went wrong. Luckily only one event placed me at some disadvantage.

First I walked out of my volunteer job. For three days running I had no pupils after the break. Monday and Tuesday I had two and four respectively. Those kids only come to school for the plate of food and then they disappear. Of course I was not going to sit around wasting my time. I went home early on Wednesday and Thursday.

On Friday the principal said he found something to keep me busy before I disappear again. I told him that I don’t need to be kept busy. I volunteered to teach illiterate street children, not to arrange books in the library. I got into my car and drove off. Anyway, I should not have volunteered in the first place.

On Saturday a bride did not show up for a wedding. I cannot say that I’m sorry. Apparently some of the guests were not informed and were milling around at the venue for an hour or two before going home. The only trouble is that the husband-to-be blames me for the fiasco and I was not even there. He now threatens to sue his would-be bride and I for breach of promise and I don’t even know where she finds herself at the present. Good luck to him.

Then things settled and we had a great Sunday Braai, but last night somebody spoke about ‘biltong’. Google it! I got a craving for it and drove 7 km to find a café selling decent biltong. Coming back, about 1 km from home, a drunken duck drove into the back of my car. Thankfully, not too much damage. Mostly plastic trimmings, the left-hand tail light (big bucks) and the boot won’t close.

Spent two hours in the charge office trying to make a statement and all I got for my trouble was about 250 gm of biltong at ZAR300.00 per kg. At least that was passable.

af·flu·en·za: a psychological malaise supposedly affecting wealthy young people, symptoms of which include a lack of motivation, feelings of guilt, and a sense of isolation.

According to the published time lines, this affliction did not take root until around 2010 and it’s actual definition appears to be somewhat in question. Interestingly enough, it is not listed in the Blacks Law Dictionary ( the most widely accepted dictionary of law) or similar links, bringing into question it’s application and consideration in legal rulings. This is not completely uncommon since new definitions for different conditions and afflictions are under consideration in a variety of cases, but the use of or excuse for behaviors that result in loss of human life is rare. If in fact we are to consider this a medical condition, then different forms of treatment certainly should be considered.

A simple observation of the apparent condition might suggest that the best cure would be to remove the conditions that caused it and to reverse those conditions to the point that the condition naturally reverts back to “normal”. Since the causation appears to be a life of “plenty” and “excess”, both causes must be removed and replaced with a treatment of labor and conditions much like the great majority of our population experience each day; in fact to reverse the condition it might be well for treatment to include a period of time equal to that which caused the affliction, which is approximately 16 years, his age at the time of the accident. Since he has gone without treatment for nearly 3 additional years and there has been at least one relapse, a sound course of treatment might be considered at 20 years. In fact, the legal system has a description for such treatment. It is “20 years at hard labor”. While some might say this is unconstitutional by todays practices, let me remind you this is described as a medical/physiological condition so those rules simply do not apply. The good of the patient must take precedence.

Now, we are not talking about tossing the poor lad into a common prison cell. That would be cruel (although not unusual) and would not provide any treatment. A treatment something more in line with that old movie “Holes” would be more in line, in fact I’m betting there are quite a few young people out there with this affliction so an entire course of treatment in a similar facility should be considered reasonable and appropriate. We would advise against a warden that coated her finger nails with rattlesnake venom … that should be reserved for only the most die hard cases that completely resist treatment.

So, the Tarrant County District Attorney’s office has some options and the judge in the case also has his own responsibilities to the people, the family, and of course to the poor lad that is so afflicted. Let’s hope that go for an appropriate treatment that will serve everyone and prevent any further relapses!

Never waste your time trying explain who you are to people who are COMMITTED to misunderstanding you .

Do not waste your time or energy trying to reason with or explain yourself to these particular people .

Be the better person , rid yourself of the negative energy and move on ....?...

I believe this happens a lot for me and I wonder why because it makes me feel it's my fault or I did something bad to get this reaction ...have you got similar experience ?...
Did you confront those persons and what's their reaction ?

One of the first rules of diplomacy calls for continued discourse no matter how bitterly opposed two countries, organizations, or people are. They simply agree that despite the fact they can find nothing to agree upon, they will continue to talk. This continues indefinitely in hopes of finding something, anything that both can find agreement upon because when there is one agreement, there is opportunity for more. That is, after all, the way we turn enemies into friends. Hatred is a learned behavior. Whether it is about race, color, creed, economics, trends or any number of differences, the process of hating another person is learned either by being taught or by emulation of a parent or some other significant person or organization that has captured the interest and admiration of the person learning to hate.

Fortunately, none of these things are absolutes. People can learn not to hate, they can learn to listen carefully and express their disagreements in a way the listener might reconsider their point of view or at least understand the disagreements so they can both better appreciate those differences. Many religions embrace the concept of forgiveness, despite differences and to actually love each other as well as accept and appreciate these same differences. We live in a society in which most religions preach the need for love and understanding, yet so few actually do and in many cases the religion is simply a “mask” to be worn to gain the approval of ones peers without serious intention or practice.

We are currently observing a pivotal point in time where our country has gone out on a limb to take talk into significant action. We are, of course, speaking of our new relationship with Cuba and the President’s trip next month to further extend the hand of friendship and continue building upon a new relationship. This isn’t to say we or they fully agree with each other, but we are continuing to try and there have been some agreements that point the way for even more in the future.

Sad is the fact that several of our Presidential candidates remain steadfast against this new relationship and refuse to consider the positive aspects. Much of that country’s political machines are growing old and won’t be here much longer, but they have the wisdom to see the future and apparently want to put their country on the path of an improved economy and better relationships. Ted Cruz & Marco Rubio strongly criticize the President for his actions, yet neither is able to give a better approach to the future. ILeana Ros=Lehtinen, a Cuban-American Republican Congresswoman states "Pitiful that Obama rewards Castro's with visit to Cuba while conditions for the Cuban people are getting worse". Considering the number of young people that have come out for the new relationship and the influx of American companies and new opportunities, where is the pity?

A President’s obligation is not to his party or the other party. It is to the American people. Turning a long standing enemy into a potential friend, particularly in the eyes of his critiques, strikes me as something done for the betterment of the American people. Watching a Congress that folds their arms and refuses to change decades-old embargo’s is simple obstructionism and shows a lack of mature, diplomatic statesmanship that these people are expected to have or at least to have learned.

No matter who’s idea it is, no matter who gets the credit, the idea and practice of converting enemies into potential friends is very much a part of the mission of leading and promoting a free world. Those that do not choose to participate have that right, but in the meantime we Americans would appreciate it if they would simply get out of the way and allow the rest of us to build bridges rather than put up more useless walls.

It's very difficult to please everyone here...you post a blog and there's always one or two who will attack it Disagreement, arguments and clashes of opinions are pretty normal unless it's accompanied by name callings and insults.

I'm here for some laugh, to escape the stress of real world from time to time...reason why I prefer to post fun blogs. Not everyone can get my humor, I'm OK with that...I'm not a professional blogger nor a writer and I never aspire to be. I post silly blog here for some fun I like to laugh, I don't get enough of that amidst seriousness of life...anyone who join in is more than welcome on my blog.

We are different from each other, we came from different culture, different tradition, different upbringing...I don't expect everyone to agree or understand me but I make it a point to say nothing than to insult others...I'm not better than them, they're not better than me, ....or are you ? Do you think you're better than others here?

Each blogger has his/her own way and style in blogging...we are not the same. Some post about their day to day pathetic existence, some about their jobs, some about their neighbors, some about how great they are, some about sex and the lack of it, anything under the sun really but if nothing else, some post about other blogs and bloggers...those are our blog critics

Not every blog topic will be to your liking...some blogs are too young for you...some are too old for you...some are too stupid for you...some are too intelligent for you...some are too classy for you and some are too lowly for you....then why the heck would you read and post there? Just move on or just post your own blog! Specially those who don't post blogs but quick to post their righteous opinions

If you want to keep this place going and a happy place for lonely people...leave others alone...let them enjoy this free site as you do...let them blog freely....not according to your standard and what you think is right....

When people lose all sense & Sensibility... And decide they can post anything on the blogs? Where is the line drawn? People attack other people, we lose our kindness and common sense. We talk about intimate s*xual details of our private life and of course, there is just plain stupidity....I will be back later to hear your comments. Thank you.

I was brought up to believe that it is wrong to lie and wrong to steal. In fact, it was wrong to do anything that could classify as being dishonest. That was the general consensus for as far as my world stretched.

But times have changed. My own clan is less honest that what they used to be and I have come to realize that not all cultures have the same opinion about honesty. It seems that in some cultures honesty is seen as being downright stupid. A recent incident shook my foundations.

A man was knocked over by a car and unconscious on the ground. I watched as another man removed his expensive Nikes. At first I thought he was helping the man on the ground but then I realized that he was stealing his shoes. When I addressed the man he told me to mind my own business. I looked around and ask a woman why she allows her own people to be robbed like that. She pointed to the man on the ground and said that he won’t be needing shoes for a while and all his kinsmen nodded in agreement.

So it appears that stealing is okay if the owner does not need the item for a while.

In my life I have heard several blatant lies just to secure a loan. My gardener, still half drunk, once told me on a Monday morning that his wife, who also worked for me, died and that he needs money for the funeral. Yet a week later they both reported back for work. When I confronted them about it, they said they needed the money. And that was a lie as well, they wanted the money to get drunk for longer. In fact all I did was to finance a week-long party.

And so it appears that it is okay to lie if you need (or just want) something.

If the need for something became an acceptable excuse to lie and steal then I wonder if it still pays to be honest. There are a lot of things I need or want. How long before the ability to cheat somebody else out of his hard-earned money becomes something to be proud of?

Using a broomstick to shove a pound of fresh dairy butter up a mosquito’s backside will be an easier task to accomplish than to understand women. They are indeed the strangest creatures on this planet.

One can never tell what they expect you to say or do. I wonder if they know themselves. Like this one girlfriend I had a few years ago. One day she said that I’m just after her body.

I told her that it was not true and I spend 10 minutes to explain that she had many other virtues that I adored and that her body was just a minor attraction amongst all her other fine attributes. Then she started crying and wanted to know what was wrong with her body that I did not like it!

But I don’t want to sound like a woman basher today and I don’t want to discuss women in general. It is one particular woman that mystifies me at this time.

We have been corresponding in non-romantical fashion for quite a while. Just talking, sharing our pains, our joys, our fears and expectations for the future. Every now and then she would say her good-byes and Poof! Her profile disappears with her and no contact until she comes back which may be a day, a week or a month later.

A short while after her last good-bye, I took my leave as well. When I returned on Friday, I found something recent from her in my inbox.

I typed a reply and when I clicked the ‘Send’ button, CS informed me that her profile was hidden or deleted. I copied and pasted my message into my word processor, saved and tried again later. Same result. On Saturday I tried twice more. Still no joy. Last night (Sunday night) I logged in to find a rather snooty message from her. Said she can take the hint and won’t bother me again. I tried to respond and that time CS informed me that the member has blocked me from contacting her again. How now, brown cow?

Come on T! Get off it. Remember we are in different time zones and we are seldom on line at the same time. You cannot prevent me from replying and then still be upset about not getting a reply. I cannot reply while your profile is hidden.

Stay cool! There is a whole week ahead.

My cousin James owns the house with the highest street number in South Africa, and is threatening to sue government for US$5 million. He claims that his house is a tourist attraction and he will loose millions in income if the city council is to continue with their plans for he will no longer have the highest street number.

This is in response to our local government disowning him of a piece of his property extending the road to gain access to the marshlands behind which they intend to fill in to build four more houses on Long Street. It enraged the residents of Long Street and 762 home owners are protesting at the civic center.

I also happen to know the fellow who lives at number 3 Long Street and he said that he won’t go home until this matter is resolved. He added that he realizes that he is very low in the pecking order, but what is happening now is going to bump him another four steps down.



Yesterday the postmen and garbage collectors joined the cause. They say that they already have a hard time on Long Street and they cannot possibly service another four houses.

The protesters got rowdy, throwing stones at council officials. In response to a call for help from the mayor, the minister of defense mobilized the army, but only seven able bodies reported for duty.

The minister commented that this is probably because 66% of the forces are HIV positive, 60% are obese and 75% are too old for active duty. When asked about it, he said that it is not as bad as it sounds, as most people suffer from more than one condition. As an afterthought, he said that he may have to invade Swaziland to get the attention away from Long Street.

A spokesman from Greenpeace said they will not interfere with a domestic quarrel and if another marshland must perish then so be it.
